Mike Webb is an American tragedy. He was a star KIRO radio broadcaster and a world class musicologist. It will be an eternal mystery why a man of his exceptional intelligence thought he could get away with defrauding a major insurance company and a commercial bank with a stupid imbecile scheme. His foolhardy crime ruined his career and made him a convicted felon. The horrific tragic debacle of Webb's life concluded with him choosing a street bum as his sex partner. Webb got subsequently hacked to death by that same psychopathic ax murderer. The Mike Webb saga is too sad for words.

RIP Mike Webb.

It might be a good time for all of use to reflect upon the frailties of the human condition.

I do feel for the family and friends of Mike Webb.

Without question my favorite talk show host of all time. He can never be replaced.

I hold KIRO partly responsible for his death. Their firing of Mike over a petty issue started the chain of events that led to his death.

The only person responsible for Mike's death is the man who murdered him.

Rest in peace, dear Mike.

Jeez, not another round of blame KIRO & Blather for Mike's murder. Typical Seattle crap.

Blame the MURDERER!

I miss Mike, too. He was one of a kind.

If it wasn't for the owner of this blog, Mike would have copped a plea. The light this blog brought to the case put Mike into the face-saving position of pleading not guilty. I hold Blather very much responsible for some of the consequences of his actions, including Mike Webb's decline.

I think when we take a moment to think a kind thought about someone who has passed on it raises them to a higher place just a little bit. Remembering Mike! R.I.P.

Reclínese en el pleace Mike Webb, usted eran de hecho un talento.

Mike Webb's decision to bring a troubled drug addict into his home is what killed him. He talked many times on the radio about how much contempt he had for those who "judge" drug-addicted, homeless ex-cons. His naivete and recklessness is what got him killed.

Right on, bro, right on.

I feel bad about what happened to Mike Webb, but enough of the blame Blather and Hood for Mike's plea , his death, and on and on. Mike is responsible for his plea. Period. Of course Hood is going to cover the trial and talk about Webb's crime on the blog. This is a freaking local talkradio blog and that's the biggest local story/scandal we've ever had in talkradio. Dori claims that tragedies are only things that the person doesn't bring upon himself or herself by their "poor choices", so I gues according to the judgmental, pious little prig Monson, what happened to Mike wasn't a tragedy. However I agree with the ohter poster that the demise of Mike Webb is an American Tragedy.

Mike Webb was a genus!
