Charleton Heston was also a warmonger. I had to pry his gun out of his cold dead fingers. May he Rest In Peace. His last words were, "Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape.”

DanC

whoa, there Michael. You got to give credit where credit's due. John McCain served his country, and served it well. He didn't cotton to any preacher god-damning America.Your boy Obama is in for a fight from the guy. Doubt he's up to it. As you say, he's a wimp.

PugetSound

If you all think the key to winning this election in the battleground purple states is to slam McCain in this fashion, have at it.
The crap-schtick that works well in deep blue Seattle won't set well with the middle of the road types.

Obama realized it and ran away from it as soon as he could.

I really didn't think the Repubs had a legit chance until around March of this year. You do realize that one of the reasons the Dems have had historic primary turnouts is that Repubs are crossing over to cause mischief, don't you?

Now if Dems would only be obliging enough to throw a crap-fest in Denver.

McCain-Rice....now THAT would be a ticket.

RedmondDem

Be careful what you wish for PugetSound..there are ramifications that you would not be happy with. Many of McCain's fellow Republicans are not thrilled at the idea of him being President because they see him as a loose canon with a hair-trigger temper. Yeah, that would be an improvement for the country.

Jim Beam

It depends. the northern tier has sent a lot of it's sons and daughters to be slaughtered over a lie...then it will be a red meat issue. The dems will be back on their game once the two candidates have been paired down to one and it won't be March for the repugs, maybe the Ides of March, Hahahahah

Jim Beam

I think the republicant's will use mc Cain as a Urinal the same way Dole was used as an ashtray.

The Big Lie perpetrated by Democrats about the so-called 100 years war remark by John McCain has been exposed to the Washington Post FactChecker website:
http://tinyurl.com/6bjbsl

The Ump

Sheesh! Next thing you know, someone will have to apolgize for pointing out that Pres W is stupid.

PugetSound

RedmonDem, I really can't disagree with you. McCain is not the popular choice amongst the 'conservative' Republicans. Nor is he the first choice amongst the 'holy roller' types. So many of them may not even elect to vote unless properly motivated. For Repubs to have anychance,
I am sure that Karl Rove will see to it that in those states with the the Initiative Process that the appropriate 'wedge issue' type Ballot Measures will be placed on the Ballot. Moreover, Rove will play up any possible attack on McCain as an attack on his 'patriotism' or service to this nation. That will also help drive Conservatives to the polls.
Making fun of his war injuries also plays into that Rovian trap. Anything that smacks of tearing down America will be used to get 'em to the polls.

Obama is supposed to be a guy that can get people to work together. So far, he hasn't been able to get much cooperation with Hillary. Clinton's rips on Obama will prove useful to Repubs in the general election. Her reaction and support of Obama will be key when he finally gets the nod. Will she fully support him or just enough so that he won't win but such that she can position herself to run in 2012?
You all tell me what you think a Clinton will do...does any Dem here still trust 'em?

KS

let the drive-by garbage start up again - and move on with the corruption. How about a respectful campaign that focuses on the real issues for a change ? That would help to get more deserving candidates (regardless of party) elected.

The progressives obviously have a problem with that because they would rather obfuscate the truth and repeat the big lie numerous times so it can work to their advantage in their eyes (i.e. the truth gets in the way)

KS

"McCain's fellow Republicans are not thrilled at the idea of him being President because they see him as a loose canon with a hair-trigger temper. Yeah, that would be an improvement for the country."

Yes it would be over what we have now. At least McCain is a leader and a fiscal conservative unlike "the shrub". The hair trigger temper line is another fabrication that the corrupt print media loves to throw out there - to give their candidate(s) the advantage. If the news reporters who interviewed him weren't such horses asses, the temper would not come up as an issue.

The Republicans are screwed up to have elected Bush in the first place - they made their own bed of thorns and must lie in them. Bush is the most incompetent President since Jimmy Carter.

What is the truth, oh all knowledgeble one KS?

RedmondDem

KS you assume the Senators were referring to McCains actions with reporters. They were not. They were referring to how he treats subordinates and his fellow Senators when he doesn't get his way.

Tacoma

This is OT, but what happened Saturday to cause Bob Brinker to scream for sev'l mins at a caller, accused him of being part of conspiracy to call 'popular' shows, etc. Very heavy, but I missed the topic. Anybody listening between 2:30-3:00?

Central Concern

If Senator Mc Cain is characterizing political instability, total collapse of infrastructure, massive internal displacement, and widespread human misery as "something approaching normal" in Iraq, one has to wonder how he would characterize "not normal" for this country.

MR.STONE

CAN I ASK MR.SHULTZ WHY YOU NEVER
HAVE ASKED WHY MR.Barack Hussein Obama DOESN'T LIKE USING HIS MIDDLE NAME.
AND WHY IS IT THAT ALL THE OTHER
PRESIDENT HAD A LONG HISTORY OF EXPERIENCE AND WERE MORE
QUALIFIED FOR BECOMING PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES BUT
MR.Barack Hussein Obama DOESN'T NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE OR THE QUILFIECATIONS. OH AND CAN YOU NAME WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS HE HAS HAD.

OF THE STORY. I BELIEVE THE PEOPLE SEE THROUGH HIS POISON.
REMEMBER EVERY KNOCK IS A BOOST. KEEP KNOCKING MR. ED.

WE DO NEED SOMEONE THAT HAS A TEMPER. SOMEONE THAT WONT TAKE BACK SEAT WITH SOME PEOPLE AND COUNTRYS. SUCH AS THE LATE PRES. OF RUSSA Vladimir Putin WHO HAD A TEMPER. WE NEED A STRONG MAN IN THE WHITE HOUSE. AND MR.Barack Hussein Obama IS NOT THE MAN. GET REAL ED. YOUR CREDIBILITY IS AT STAKE..YOUR ALWAYS GOING TO FIND SOME THAT WILL AGREE WITH YOU.

MR. STONE

MR. ED PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, BECOUSE I KNOW YOUR SO FAIR AND BALEANCE....
The following, all by itself, should sink Barack Obama's candidacy. He has said, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides." If he were to be President of the United States, exactly whose side would he represent?
Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.
According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, "During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart."
"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it."

Central Concern

Yes, we don't need a man like Mc Cain with a temper, remember his "Asshole, Asshole, Asshole" comment?

We also remember Mc Cain saying he was a little late in regards to MLK and his vote in the AZ Senate in voting against Arizona recognizing the holiday. McCan't didn't need the black vote then, but he NOW needs the black vote he had to do a mea culpa in Memphis in which he got booed for being a cranky old white dude who hates black people. It is really astonishing to hear this relic from the apartheid era trying to make nice with folks in Memphis and he fails miserably at it.

Central Concern

Mc Shit can't even work with people INSIDE his own party

"McCain’s temperamental issues have most often been raised in dealings with his own Republican colleagues.

Earlier this year, Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) said that the thought of McCain as president “sends a cold chill down my spine. He is hotheaded. He loses his temper and he worries me.” McCain once called Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) “a f—ing jerk” during a debate over the fate of Vietnam MIAs. And in a heated dispute over immigration, McCain screamed, “F— you!” at Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), who had been raising concerns about the legislation".

Can America afford an f-ing asshole like this?

HappyHeathen

Juan McSame has visited Bob Jones University pointed to a couple of religious zealots as his spiritual advisors. With Rice in the VP slot he'll have his ducks all in a row.

sparky

Mr. Stone, Putin is not dead.

There is a book coming out shortly, about McCain's temper, The Real McCain by Chris Schecter.

"F--- you," he shouted at Texas Sen. John Cornyn last year.

"Only an a------ would put together a budget like this," he told the former Budget Committee chairman, Sen. Pete Domenici, in 1999.

"I'm calling you a f------ jerk!" he once retorted to Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley.

With Cornyn, he smoothed things over quickly. The two argued during a meeting on immigration legislation; Cornyn complained that McCain seemed to parachute in during the final stages of negotiations. "F--- you. I know more about this than anyone else in the room," McCain reportedly shouted.

"I have witnessed incidents where he has used profanity at colleagues and exploded at colleagues," said former Senator Bob Smith, a New Hampshire Republican who served with McCain on the Senate Armed Services Committee and on Republican policy committees. "He would disagree about something and then explode. It was incidents of irrational behavior. We've all had incidents where we have gotten angry, but I've never seen anyone act like that."

"McCain used the f-word," the former senator said. "McCain called the guy a ‘sh--head.' The senator demanded an apology. McCain stood up and said, ‘I apologize, but you're still a sh--head.' That was in front of 40 to 50 Republican senators. That sort of thing happened frequently."

Im sure there are those of you here who believe that shows some kind of toughness. It is not the kind of temperament I want negotiating with the leaders of the world.

chucks

So, what is wrong with a Senator telling someone to "fuck off" who needs to by told to fuck off. Most of us will share that message with anybody who needs it.
As for us conservatives voting for John McCain. He is a Democrat like Henry Jackson and John Kennedy. Social libs, but strong on national defense. He is the kind of Democrat that I was when I was one of them.
I just figured out years ago that all of those feel good social programs are throwing good money after bad.
At least he is against earmarks thrown on bill after bill without debate. There is hope there enough that I will contribute, campaign and vote for McCain.

nevets

Tacoma, I think the caller you are talking about called to tell Brinker he was wrong on Obama raising taxes to 62% in states like California with his economic plan for the country if he is elected. Brinker challenged him and the caller hung up.

62% tax rate for small business in California. Unbelievable. Like Brinker said, these small business owners will do the "Johnny Paycheck" song. "Take this job and shove it." and retire leaving untold millions unemployed.

Obama = Higher taxes for all

Sam is on for Randi and the Sammycam is working!

He's talking about McCain's temper. He is so full of information - he names names. Listen please!

I wish Sam would take over permanently.

Big Ed was great today. I have so much more respect for Ed than I used to have. He stays calm and speaks for middle America in a way that makes sense. He's good.

J.Hova

You mean Malloy

Ed did make a good statement that he made the comments last week and he is responsible, not Barack

joanie hussein for obama

Sorry, Sammy is in for Mike! Not much difference.

I talked to one of my parents today who is from Long Island and grew up Republican. Her husband whom she met at 19 is as blue as can be. She was not blue. She is now. Her mom came out to visit and she said that she and her husband honestly had her convinced that liberal was better but as soon as she got back to her monied roots, she was a Republican again.

My parent said that her mother-in-law equates Republican with money and that's all she needs to know. My parent said that her mother-in-law doesn't think or know anything at all about issues or politics. She knows money and equates money with republican.

Too bad she doesn't realize that Republicans equate with red ink while Dems equate with black ink.

I guess we truly might be in a society where there are more ignorant people than informed people. That is truly sad.

joanie hussein for obama

Took me a long time to post. Sorry I didn't see your correction, j'hove.

Ed also took on the Hussein comment. Ed has a really good way of speaking truth without getting emotional or being divisive. Quite a few Repugs call in and he gives them time, responds and leaves amicably. He's okay.

joanie to ano

You know, chucks, the depth of your ignorance never fails to amaze me.

That you would even use McShame's name in the same sentence as Henry Jackson or John Kennedy is obscene.

You should be ashamed of yourself. You should be ashamed to even put out such a stupid and puerile statement.

Forget the charge that you get your news of Fox; you obviously get it from Twenty-Four.

You live in a fantasy land, chucks. Unbelievable.

Grow up.

sparky

So did anyone catch the speech John McCain made yesterday afternoon about how things were so much better in the Green Zone now, with no more bombings..the news reader on MSNBC broke in at that moment to report the breaking news that some American soldiers had been killed in the Green Zone from a bomb blast? Not a very opportune time for THAT to happen!

And the "liberal" media never questions him or what he says...

News Flash

"John McCain is a democrat like Jackson and Kennedy"

Why is it when republicans have to sell something they package it as new when it is return merchandise.
That statement that McCain is also a floor wax and a dessert topping is quite telling how republicans attempt to sell a shitbird of a candidate BY not telling us who is really is--an angry, foul mouthed, bastard. Jackson and JFK did more to bring the bacon home to their districts than McCain ever will.
