Recife

So..... What's your point? He is speaking the truth, unlike your boy who told the cannucks that all the talk about NAFTA was rhetoric, and not to worry. Just like the good little Marxist he is, we would be better off with the Socialist Bitch. At least she has the guts to say "Do it my way or pay up suckers!"

That brings up the fact it will be cold day in hell before I pay for some crack heads, snot nose brats' health care. Oh shit I'm already paying for that, little fucking brats.

joanie

Gee, Recife, why don't you do something humane like lining them up and shooting them?

abob

Rush is the most successful radio talk show host alive, dead, or yet to be born. Day after day, year after year Limbaugh demonstrates why he is the #1 talk host in the whole wide world.

Dave

And Britney Spears was the top selling musical artist for a couple of years. Doesn't mean the audience is any brighter.

Tommy008

Rush is a phony who never even voted until he was in his late thirties, as reporters have discovered. He has contempt not love for his callers and listeners, but they're usually too stupid to pick up on that. He's been trying to trivialize and marginalize McCain for years with cruel, nasty radio spots making fun of him, as well as a vicious, hateful voice impression of the Senator that fatass himself does. This time his hate tactics are backfiring and people are laughing at him, not with him. I would have more respect for the fatpants butthead blowhard if he could man up to what he was doing, but he'll do this kind of crap and then claim he has nothing "personal" against McCain. What bullshit. What a joke.

Upton

You have to question the intelligence of anyone who takes what an oxycontin addict says seriously.

sparky

I agree Upton.

The official campaign to elect Hillary is " Keep her in so We can win." Hmm, I recall Republicans complaining that it wasn't fair for Dems to vote for the least popular Repub just to skew the results.
Oh, that's right...IOIYAR.

wutitiz

By the same token the Seattle left has no room to complain about this tactic. Several bloggers at HA bragged about how they caucused for Huckabee. I could not bring myself to dishonestly sign the oath to the opposing party, but they had no problem.

Then there was the Craswell race where lefties, in typical bigoted fashion, knocked out an excellent black female candidate in Nona Brazier in order to be able to face a weaker candidate in Ellen Craswell.

sparky

Why do you assume race had anything to do with it? You said it yourself, Crasswell was the weaker candidate and easier to beat.

bernie the putz

No matter what Rush has said in this campaign, like his shitting on McCain, has made one bit of difference. No matter what the voters do anywhere, what he says will have no bearing on it. He's just an entertainer.

joanie

And words are not action, wzzzz. Nobody knows if anybody really did it. And for those few who did, it is a non-event.

Sparky, don't you know conservatives by now? I mean, remember when they were going to blow up the filibuster if Dems used it? So, the timid Dems didn't. Now that was a good call, wasn't it?

It is straight out of the Republican playbook to initiate and originate every stupid and undemocratic threat there is. I say put some reality behind wzzz's tiny examples of Dem tricks and really learn from the Rethugs some repug thinking. Why not? They have the master teacher over there.

And, a-boob, nobody takes you seriously. With every post, you reveal yourself to be an empty suit. So, you stick with the herd that follows the Limbaugh gospel while the rest of us move on.

Elmer Hussein Fudd

whats happenin, dudes and dudettes?

joanie

C'mon, we all know an a-boob when we read one.

PS: the name "Hussein" is such a turn on for independant women. You scoundrel, you. :)

joanie

Interesting NY Times article discussing the issue of gender and Hillary Clinton's campaign:

"But Kathleen Dolan, a professor of political science and an expert on women in politics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, argues that the “visceral” reaction of many men to Mrs. Clinton suggests that something more is at work. “You could say men are just really captivated by Obama,” Ms. Dolan said. “But I’m not willing to say that’s what it is.”

Ms. Dolan noted that any Internet search of images of Mrs. Clinton quickly summons “all sorts of visceral and emotional reactions to women, but attached to her” - such as Mrs. Clinton in full attire as the Wicked Witch of the West. Ms. Dolan also noted that gender stereotypes are among the “most engrained,” and argued that much of the news media coverage - from whether Mrs. Clinton was too tough to whether she was crying on cue - played off of those stereotypes.

But Ms. Dolan wonders how you separate the candidate from the woman. From Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign on, she noted, Mrs. Clinton was confronted with a series of controversies around gender roles and stereotypes - from hairstyles to “co-presidencies” to “standing by her man” against charges of infidelity."

Andrew Korhut is also quoted in the article:
“A lot of men just don’t like her,” said Mr. Kohut. “And that gets us back to the argument, is it something about her, or is it her gender?”

Mr. Kohut says he believes “it has to do with the way men react to Hillary,” not women candidates in general.

You have to have a paid online subscription to get the whole article but I've posted the meat of it, I think.

I think attitudes towards women are so subtle and have been internalized for such a long, long time that they've become not just tolerable but acceptable. Even among women.

wutitiz

The statement that 'words are not action' lets off the hook dems who talked about supporting Craswell in the primary, true, however it also LETS OFF THE HOOK Rush Limbaugh.

Sparky, I don't know that race had anything to do with it. However, I'm sick of being called a racist by posters like cowpotpie3, so I've decided to start firing back in similar fashion at every opportunity. There are plenty of opportunities.

KS

Rush Limbaugh, Bill Cunningham and other conservative talkers that say they prefer Hillary Clinton have a problem. Their egos are too big for their britches and they views really don't matter. They don't care for McCain because he views issues different than they do. To give you an idea of their judgment, they would have supported Romney.

One of their theories if McCain - a moderate gets elected, that will hurt conservatives for 20 years, just like if Ford won in 1976, a Reagan would not have been able to come along. These people can be labeled rightwingnuts.

Being scorned for saying Sen. Obama's middle name is the height of political correctness. That's what his parents named him - not his fault. Hillary Rodham Clinton and John Wayne McCain are the full names of the other candidates that will and have been used extensively. By the same token, Obama should defend himself from the connotation of his middle name, as he did by saying he is a Christian and prays every night - nothing wrong with that.

joanie

Where'd you get John Wayne McCain?

For the record, it's John Sidney McCain III. You've really got to stop listening to faux news. Really, Klueless.

And Rodham is Hillary's maiden surname. Her full name is Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton if you include the Rodham. I don't think Barack Obama includes his wife's surname. Do you?

Unbelievable.

joanie

Sorry, Klueless, I gave credit to faux news. Was it Rush?

Same difference.

KS

Joanie - With all due respect, BFD. you like to say faux news, don't you. I used to like to call CNN the Commie News Network - don't think they are that bad now- but not good either. I don't listen to Rush - the info on John McCain's middle name was on another website (Drudge), not on cable, which I don't have.

"And Rodham is Hillary's maiden surname. Her full name is Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton if you include the Rodham. I don't think Barack Obama includes his wife's surname. Do you?"

Why the hell would he - Mrs. Obama is not running for President, unbelievable logic. and there you go again - playing the sympathy/victim card on behalf of the women of the world, courtesy of HDR Clinton. I hear that Gloria Steinem was campaigning in TX on behalf Sen. Clinton. Another reason that It would be good to see Obama as the candidate.

With due respect, women's lib has succeeded in tearing up the American family just one of the unintended consequences...

I love your detours, Klueless. They are fun.

...women's lib has succeeded in tearing up the American family...

Klueless lamenting the loss of father knows best...

No sexism here.

Tommy008

Many men don't like Hillary, as opposed to other women candidates who they might well like and vote for, because, as Camille Paglia, the writer who has studied Hillary for years, says- Hillary feels she must endure and indulge we silly litle men, and treats us with condescension and bemused superiority. I still think Hillary is overall barely acceptable and moderately qualified, whereas Barack and his wife are clearly unacceptable and unqualified to be Presisdent and First Lady.

sparky

John Wayne McCain...because Drudge said so.

Ok!!

wutitiz

Since Obama does not refer to himself as 'BHO,' I can think of no reason to label him that other than a sleazy attempt to link him with Islam. Rejection of the gratuitous use of 'Hussein' is just a rejection of sleazy politics. It's not 'political correctness.'

If Obama gets the nomination he will have to address his the subject of his Muslim roots, especially the apostasy issue, maybe on 60 mins. like Bill did regarding his cheating. That's the honest way to deal with it; schoolyard namecalling isn't.

Hillary's schizoid name games are a fair target because she brought it on herself. She was Hillary Rodham as a young married lawyer, then changed to Hillary Clinton after Bill lost an election (for gov, I think), then changed to Hillary Rodham Clinton after Bill won the WH, then back to Hillary Clinton when she ran for president. She's been through more name changes than a Seattle gas station. If conservatives want names to make fun of, make fun of those.

cowpotpi3

Obama needs to apologize for being born? Nice framing there WZZZ. You pretend to reject one Republican sleaze tactic and endorse another. Nice to see you guys still bring meaning to the word hypocrisy.

mercifurious

Advice to Obama campaign - extinguish with humor.

A.) Say simply:
"I'd like to send a thank you to all the those using my middle name. It feels good to wake up and hear someone calling you "Good" or "Handsome".

B.) Or even better, say
"My middle name means "Good" and "Handsome", so I appreciate those out there drawing attention to it - thank you. Many other people have had a much tougher go at it:

"Dweller in the rushes" Limbaugh, for example.

Or poor John "Wide Island" McCain

This of course, gives us all a moment to be thankful for our given names. It could be always be a lot worse:

*Que Johnny Cash "A Boy Named Sue"*

wutitiz

ccp3, I could offer a response to your rewording of my comment, but then when you found yourself backed into a corner you would just pull a skedaddle.

I don't think that that he even needs to respond. Like any childishness, it will reflect more on those who engage in it than Obama. Obama already was elected to the Senate in IL despite being unknown and having a name that sounds not unlike 'Osama,' so how is 'Hussein' going to matter?

Or, as Merci thoughtfully points out, such things can readily be defused with humor. If it comes up, he can use it as a chance to show off his Reagan-esque people skills.

Fremont

HAHAhaha! Well done, MF!
