David Goldstein will fill in for Dave Ross (KIRO m-f, 9a-12p) Feb. 25-29; and March 3-6. Goldy says he'll bring his drive time propaganda to the masses, " while wiping my liberal stink all over Dori’s microphone."
(While he's at it over there, we're hoping to find out whether it's true that Dori Monson's (m-f, 12-3p) producer, Phil the Junkie's wife really did bear a child this week and name it after Dori. That assumes its feminine gender, of course, since Dori is a girl's name, as our prolific commenter, Mr. Duffman has brilliantly observed. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Phil, of course, and welcome to li'l Dori. Naming a child after your boss is such a... gesture).
Maybe the child is a male, with a name like Dori, odds are it will become a fascist homosexual. In other words, a Log Cabin Republican.

Hey, thanks Bla'M. :)

"a fascist homosexual"
My ears are burning! Haaaaaay! LOL! ;)

People like Dori (a girl's name, btw) love to surround themselves with suckups.

Phil's wife was going to name her Laurie, and Phil said, "aw hell, honey..." In the end, they both got their way, the little girl's name is Dori Laurie.

Can't wait to hear Goldy and Jeffers together.
If anyone wasn't listening this morning to Jeffers on Ross, you missed a great analysis and should podcast it when available.
I'm back on the fence again...Obama/Hillary? Jeffers told some great inside-media stories including one about Tavis Smiley who I respect a lot.
We are so played out here in listenerland.

I don't think Jeffers will be on with Goldy on Friday (as is the case with DR), but hopefully I'm wrong...as I too would enjoy hearing them banter.
Goldy: if you tune in here, I'm really happy that you're to be sitting in for DR. Don't worry 'bout your voice...be genuine, passionate and respectful of your audience (as is DR) and you'll do just fine (as you have). Will be tuned in. :)

Congratulations to Sir Goldstein!
While KIRO may (or may not) have been wise to delete my modest late-night broadcast efforts since 2005 from its sched, they REALLY blew it when cancelling David's fine (if leftist) broadcasts, which cover the local issues as well as any in town. If DG can't replace Schram on KVI (as he should), at least we can hear him sub for the sainted Mr. Ross.
[Cue the Styble haters to start their puerile posting below...]
Sincerely,
BRYAN STYBLE/Seattle

No need, Mr. Styble
Your post was SHORT (!) and expressed genuine feeling.

Oh, and Goldy a word of advice. If you want current and timely topics to talk about Don’t Go Here…hehe . :)

Puerile post: Bryan Styble, go away!

Congrats to Goldy (give us more, KIRO); congrats to Duh-f for finally making the headlines; and a plethora of puerile, persecutory, past-posted putdowns to the Paragon of Pith, Mr. B. Styblehead!

Goldy and Carl Jefffers...
Should run like this. Goldy intros Carl and we get treated to 6 minutes of Carl. Hardbreak. Come back from break, Goldy reintroduces Carl and off he goes for another 4 minutes until the Traffic Update, Goldy comes back, reintros Carl who launches off again...
Add water, rinse, repeat until the end of the show.
You can't stop Jeffers, all you can do is break for commercials...

Which is why he's so good at this particular time. He is a treasure trove of politic analysis and insight and needs more time that Ross can give him.
But, putsi, I'm not sure analysis and insight interest you much.
Read Chalmers Johnson's books yet?

Geez, I need to reread and edit . . . or at least preview.
