~~ We meat again. Our BlatherMunch Sundays when we divert from
the usual crap to write about food and dining are going so well, we're
getting all manner of mail. In recognition to our piece on barbecue, a
reader sent a picture of this stunning little cocktail dress: MADE
OF 100% US CHOICE GRADE A ANGUS BEEF! Local angle: It was a performance art piece
done by Jane Sterbak for art patron, restaurateur, and rancher, Stuart Anderson. It's titled
Flesh Dress for an Albino Anorectic, and was, for several years
displayed in the Stuart Anderson's Black Angus Restaurant walk-in at Northgate near Seattle. It
was later made into stroganoff, and donated to the Food Bank.
~~ David Goldstein will be in for Dave Ross (KIRO m-f, 9a-1p) this week and next. We're happy that Rod Arquette is keeping Goldy in the room... maybe there's a place for him down the line. Must have been all those calls, letters, and petitions.
~~ "You spoke, we listened." How refreshing! That's what they do at progressive AM760 in Denver when a station decision doesn't sit well with the listeners. After a big stink when Thom Hartmann was dropped, Kris Olinger, Clear Channel's Denver AM PD (and former KIRO PD) wrote, "We have listened to you and come up with the best solution possible." That was to bring him back, delayed in the 7-10p.
~~ The most common mental disorder, among talk show hosts is logorrhea dementia, which is talking so much you drive yourself crazy.
~~ Radio history was made and we're sorry we missed it. Noxious
homunculus Glenn Beck (KTTH m-f, 6-9a) went from the merely
nauseating
to the truly nauseated. Mid-sentence on Feb. 7, Beck barfed, live
on-air. Audio and video is available to paid-up, premium members on the Glenn Beck.org website.
~~ OMG!! WTF?? LOL!! There must be something wrong with The Google: when someone searched for "hot gay bear with a tiny penis," they got to BlatherWatch! Zoophilia is not our thing, we swear. But whoever Googled "Theresa Joy nude," then got us, must have been really disappointed. She's the former conservative commentator/news reader on KTTH's late Sytman & Boze Show. She took the fall with Dan when the show was cancelled, and is now the "Granite countertop chick," whose ad voice sends thrills up the legs of codgers all over the county.
~~ "I inhaled; that was the point." ~~ Barack Obama
~~Cluster luck. Our own Dori Monson, despite he's burdened with a girl's name, has been nominated for News/Talk/Sports Local
Personality Of The Year by Radio & Records. KIRO has been nominated
N/T/S Station Of The Year; and Bonneville's Seattle GM Scott Sutherland is competing for the N/T/S GM of the Year.
Winners will be announced on March 15 at their Talk Radio Seminar.
We're rooting for the home team, of course. Go Dori, and Scott -- do it for The Cluster!
Pretty bad when your show is so awful you make yourself throw up.
when did Stuart Anderson die? I thought he was still hawking those "Shag" apartments..a commercial that always made me think of Austin Powers, and made me wonder just what went on there....

Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG), Sparkler...yep! No one knows what goes on behind those closed doors!
" logorrhea dementia, which is talking so much you drive yourself crazy."
There is a pandemic of plagiarism...Bla'M, did you swipe that line from David Brooks (who has used it repeatedly) or did he steal it from you? Maybe you both got it from the dictionary.

hey Goldy, good to hear you again. And thanks KIRO for keeping it live/local. Hartmann is like a carousel: same scenery over and over...

Goldy, Glad to hear you again. You bring something to KIRO no one else does. You might not be exactly drivetime ready yet, but I wish you were on evenings or weekends.

Goldy's last hour, talking about immigration, where he trotted out his usual annoying, superior Philly smartass attitude toward those who disagreed with him, while parroting leftist catchphrases that just don't pan out logicaly and in real life, is a perfect example of why two irritating ,self-absorbed lightweights, not Goldstein, Shiers heir apparent, isn't hosting Frank's vacated 7-10p.m. slot. Others may mince word, but I won't . You blew it, Dave.

sorry- should read- "are hosting Krank's vacated 7-10p.m. slot."

Yeah, we're happy to hear you, too, Goldy...(he's prowling for Naderites now).

Try again, GaGa...link the sssslink. We're dying to know...

hmm. Glenn Beck looks significantly shorter in the pic BM shows as compared to his website. Note how squat his head is in the vomitcam, and elongated in his website.
A little photoshop there Glenn?

Normally I am not a fan of drug-inspired artwork with decay and debasement as major themes. But the 'meat-dress' provokes a question.
Is our reaction of nausea because man is not meant to eat meat, or is it like most poisons, just a question of dose? All that meat in one place provokes nausea while a pic of a small steak doesn't. Dr. Mixon, KVI's longevity doc, says that human teeth are suited to an omnivore, not a vegatarian. Little known fact: squirrels are also omnivores. They will catch and eat very small birds when they can.

Goldy's habit of hurriedly cutting off callers is really annoying. There's no transition, no segue, just an abrupt thanks for the call. Sounds rude, probably is just that he is nervous about the clock. He should try to smooth that out.

Anyone else feel that the lady in the picture (in the meat-dress) above may in fact be a vegan. [She's not lookin too joyful?] :)
