~ And that's the way it is... Tina Nole, Dave Ross's longtime producer who left KIRO last summer is now working at in New York. She's put up a blog chronicling her travails as a small town girl settling into the big town of New York City called The Only Livin' Girl In New York. She works at CBS Radio where she goes to get away from the cockroaches and hang out with Walter Cronkite. It's a funny read and a great way to catch up and keep up with Tina.
~ Billo isn't letting up on the Pig's Eye: He again went after P-I columnist Dorothy Parvaz and publisher Roger Oglesby on his radio show and on the Tee Vee Monday for that passing comment in a blog post he and the right-wing blogosphere has conflated as something onerous. Billo hinted that Oglesby might be in for one of his infamous ambushes- he's been sending a pushy aggressive producer to confront people who won't appear to be yelled at on The Factor. No matter who you are, you look like a headlamped Bambi when jumped by a cameraman and a Fox News thug pushing a microphone in your face in a parking lot or picking up your kid at kindergarten. (Note to Rog: the best defense if this happens is to start chanting, "Loofah," Falafel," "Andrea Mackris" like a horny monk- your appearance will never air).
~ And we thought she was one of the good guys: Seattle defense
attorney Anne Bremner was on the same O'Reilly show scorning Parvaz's
sins, clucking about "liberal Seattle," the "far left
P-I," and
fellating Billo as do all of his analysts- even Dick Morris. (Ever notice how his regular "analysts" are usually blonde, female, and even the so-called "Democratic Consultants- docile?")

~ Larry Nelson is ailing. He was the KOMO radio morning man for three decades which ended in 1996. Check here for updates and how to send Larry your cards & letters.
~ CNN's immigration-phobe Lou Dobbs and Hate Free Zone's Pramila Jayapal will appear on KUOW's Weekday,
Weds. at 9a, but alas not, according to Producer David Hyde,
simultaneously. We were hoping for a debate: Dobbs is formidable- we
heard him spank Michael Medved (KTTH m-f, 12-3p) a few years ago on
Michael's own show. Dobbs is the anchor and managing editor of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight. He writes for Money and U.S. News & World Report and manages the Lou Dobbs Money Letter. He'll be touting his new book, Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit. Dobbs is seeking a Final Solution to the Mexican Problem.
~ Man on Dog. Billed on Fox News as historic as Frost v.Nixon, Sean Hannity got in depth with Dog the Bounty Hunter. Question of thenight: HANNITY: "Dog, did you eat that guy's ear?" DOG: "yes, but not all of it."
~ Touching: On a recent trip to Gainesville, Sean Hannity met a family,
apparently impaired in some way, who's named their youngest daughter
Hannity! Althoug
h the little girl, now 4, is not a special needs kid as
first reported, she'll have special
security needs for sure when she
goes to school and is held accountable by all the Hillarys and Baracks
of her generation. Advice for lil Hannity! drop the !.
Sorry to hear about Larry Nelson. He is a clas act in Seattle Radio.

Some would take issue with your assertion that Dobbs got the better of that argument with Michael Medved.

I think Larry Nelson's son worked at a Bellingham radio station a few years ago. Not sure if he is still there.

Tina & Cronkite, what a team! She will obviously gain incredible experience (& a brilliant resume)!

She's in a picture with him, FCS. See how dependent you are, doffo? So easily impressed. Get a life.
Posted by: joanie | November 07, 2007 at 10:44 PM
Why doesn't big Bill have the balls to confront his targets himself, instead of sending flunkies. He's always bragging about the size of his balls, although too much of a prude to say it in those words. He's always tellig us how he's not afraid to go anywhere, etc,. blah blah blah. If you have to tell everybody about what physical courage you have, you're invariably a fraud. The real heros with incredible guts never brag and boast about themselves like that. I smell a rat. You're Bitch O'Reilly, Bill, since you have to send flunkies to do your dirty work. You're the big man, the big bully that scared and dismayed a helpless little woman who could have been your daughter, Andrea Mackris, with your sexual harrassment talk. Oh, and didn't you brag about the size of your penis to Mackris, Bill? I seem to remember that coming out in the court documents and the tape transcript.

Connect the dots.... In September Parvaz writes a piece about O'reilly being a self righteous hypocrite.... like all pompous windbags with a pulpit and a god complex, O'Reilly's agenda was personal. He wanted a piece of Parvaz flesh and the heads of anyone unwilling to silence her. We're not apathetic out here in the West.. we're just smart enough to let two gunslingers take each other out. Call us when there's an interesting story.

Pick, pick, pick...I swear joanie sometimes I wonder why I still love you. :)

Hillary,a bad tipper too. Duffman, what do you think of this. And now she is gettng her hours cut at her other job, I wonder if Hillary had anything to do with that?
Posted by: Nevets | November 08, 2007 at 09:09 AM
Oh no steven not another 'Shark' attack. She was probably counting on someone in her entourage to drop the tip...don't ya know :)
Think our Pres does his own tippin?
Posted by: Duffman | November 08, 2007 at 09:30 AM
No Duff, I don't think the President leaves the tip personally, but I would bet he ensures one is left. THis should be good fodder for the next debates.
Posted by: Nevets | November 08, 2007 at 09:40 AM
Hillary and tipping, is this a regular thing for her.
Posted by: Nevets | November 08, 2007 at 01:57 PM
Ya see stephen, I believe it's her husband 'Bill' who is the RFT (Resposnible Family Tipper), so if he's not along - well she leaves it to him. [Ask Monica if she got a 'tip'...or 'more']
Posted by: Duffman | November 08, 2007 at 02:03 PM
And it looks like somebody in the Hillary campaign is saying they left a $100.00 tip. I hope this is true, people around the world shouldn't be thinking a U.S. presidential candidate is a cheapskate. Just wish they would get thier storys straight. The article first said the meal was on the house, now it says they paid a $157.00 bill. Which is it?
Posted by: Nevets | November 08, 2007 at 02:05 PM
..has any one checked merci's blog for the 'waitress's' side of the story....ha

Duffman?
"if he's not along - well she leaves it to him."
What???
Posted by: Nevets | November 08, 2007 at 02:14 PM
LOL, thats was my first thought too Duffman, whether or not "Meet the Stress" was covering this, but since Hillary is a liberal I would figure he is not to keen to this story.

Hillary's stock is falling - it could be a large fall. The vultures of the media are starting to swoop on her vulnerability as are Obama and Edwards. If she is the best the Dems have to offer (Bill would be alot better, but Bill won't be President this time), they will be called the Demagogue party from hereon out as opposed to the Repugnants or Rethugs.
Actually right now, it looks like the Repubicrats and the Demicans - they are in bed together on expanding Government, opening the borders with creeping socialism American style.

Hey Duff, see the article where the Hillary campaign sent someone over to made-rite to payoff the waitresses.. The got $20.00 each, woohoo. Go Hillary.
Posted by: Nevets | November 09, 2007 at 07:50 PM
No, I hear you on that Steven; I'm certainly not happy with Ms Pelosi. I had confidence and she let me (us) down...and Harry Reid is not much better. It's sad because the chance was there and if Pelosi were 1/2 the person Mrs Clinton is - she would NOT have let up. I am disappointed in her and the leadership and I'm sure other Dems's are also.
[When it comes to leadership, she has a 'rack' and that's all]...hopefully she will be replaced. I can't see Mrs Clinton putting up with a 'wuss' like her.
Posted by: Duffman | November 09, 2007 at 07:53 PM
Duffman, you think the President chooses who is Speaker of the House? !!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: LeeAnn | November 09, 2007 at 07:59 PM
Rank on her all you want, steven but I can assure you - she WILL be your next POTUS. So, let's agree to disagree on this but I would be most interested in your comments in 2013. [i.e. tips, stumbles in debate, etc. - all bound to happen when she's being 'attacked'...when she gets in power then the REAL criticisms will be weighed with proper application]. I fight this every day at work; I'm the ONLY one supporting Mrs Clinton and I take a 'rash' but...MY day is coming, rest assured!
Posted by: Duffman | November 09, 2007 at 07:59 PM
LeeAnn: NO I obviously don't, but do I think the President of the party in charge carries 'influence' - you DAMN right!....and when it's Mrs Clinton - DOUBLE IT! Doubt it?

Hey Duff, is this just as bad as FEMA holding a fake press conference?

"As long as the government refuses to listen to the will of the vast majority of people who want an end to this war"
Joanie, Sparky, these guys must be a product of your teachings. Is this the new math you two are teaching our youngsters that a majority is getting a few idiots together on a street corner is the will of the people.
Posted by: Nevets | November 14, 2007 at 09:43 PM
They are just idiots Steven. I don't think we can blame it on Joanie or Sparky.
It sure would be fun to watch the Oly PD taze um though.
That would be good tv.
Posted by: chucks | November 14, 2007 at 09:48 PM
So, chuck s and steven, you hate the soldiers who want this war over? You think they should be tazed too?
You think they'd rather have tickets to a seahawk game or the war over?
Posted by: joanie | November 14, 2007 at 10:05 PM
"When it takes two weeks and six different positions to answer one question on immigration, it's easier to understand why the Clinton campaign would rather plant their questions than answer them,"
From the Obama camp, now this is politics.
Posted by: Nevets | November 14, 2007 at 10:35 PM
You know joanie, the military is just like any other place of employment. You have a million soldiers, Marines, airmen, etc. you are going to have a couple thousand disgruntled folks. The other 998000 are going to do their jobs as professionals. Most of them (all that I know personally) are proud of the job they are doing. They know that the tide has turned and they are winning the battle in Iraq.
People here can slam them all they want and take the side of the idiot kids in Olympia. I am proud of them and grateful to them and for them.
Posted by: chucks | November 15, 2007 at 08:32 PM
The argument can just as easily be turned around chuck. That's the point. You don't know - not really.
Sure, stateside guys are propagandized guys and they are not allowed to speak ill of their orders and commanders and you should know that. Since you should know that, you have an obligation to look out for them since they cannot do it for themselves.
But, you are too jingoistic and gung-ho to see the truth. So, you may continue to send them to their deaths for oil. Go right ahead. But the day will come when even you will be appalled that you were so easily deceived and responsible for so much killing.
And then you will be sorry - but what good will it do then?
Posted by: joanie | November 15, 2007 at 10:24 PM
Joanie
I do not have the kind of interest in oil as you have. Nothing has convinced me that this is a war for oil. That is a left wing "jingoism".
I admit that I am gung-ho in my support for the GWOT and believe our guys will win it. They have Al quada in Iraq on the ropes. Am not delusional to believe that they are not still a threat, but because the Iraqi citizens have turned on them and are ratting them out to our troops, they are either dieing or running. They have run out of places to hide.
I do not accept your premise that we are responsible for the killing. Al quada, Saddam and Al quada in Iraq are responsible for the killing. We are just accommodating them. They want to be martyrs, ok by me. We will accommodate and expedite. The day they accept defeat and drop their weapons, quit killing innocents and quit attacking our troops, this war will be over.

"you have an obligation to look out for them since they cannot do it for themselves."
Chucks, I think Joanie is getting confused between the adults in the military and the children she teaches. Sure the children in her classes need the community to watch out for them as they have no voice in this world until they become adults at the age of 18. I am sure there are many times a student has expressed a desire to leave her class but had been denied by her dictator like rule she enjoys in the classroom. Whereas the men and women in the military are volunteers who have reached the age of adulthood and made a decision to protect this country even when many were telling them not to because of the danger. These soldiers don't need us to look out for them anymore, they only want the support of a whole nation while they are defending it from those that want to destroy us. With my experience in the military, the troops riding by the demonstrators in olympia this week are out making jokes about them or talking smack about how a certain one looked, all while have themselves a cold one waiting for the Seahawks games sunday.
Posted by: Nevets | November 16, 2007 at 02:55 PM
You call teachers dictators? Wow, sounds like you never made through any quality schooling steeven! Lots of grammatical errors as well, in your latest tome. Too bad...
Posted by: Jimmy Kowalski | November 16, 2007 at 04:06 PM
Steven thinks he's on the troops side but what he's realy saying is "fuck the troops, let them die for a mistake." He thinks he's doing them a favor rebuking the protestors but in truth Iraq is no longer a threat to national security and more soldiers will be dead if the war doesn't end sooner.
On the point of teachers being dictators, in my experiance that's true of grade school teachers, because they are unqualified leaders thrust in a leadership position. They become so accustomed to bossing around eight year olds that they forget how to stop when they leave the classroom.
I don't blame them for evolving into arbitrary know-it-alls but I don't give them a free pass either.
Posted by: Andrew | November 16, 2007 at 04:41 PM
Steven is so smart, Jimmy, it doesn't matter if he has never visited Joanie's classroom, his extra-super smartness allows him to know everything he needs to know.
oops I just told another whopper....
Posted by: sparky | November 16, 2007 at 04:48 PM
I expect primary school teachers to be dictatoring them little milk suckers.
I will flip sparky and joanie shit all day long on politics, but thank them all day long for teaching.
Posted by: chucks | November 16, 2007 at 05:09 PM
I blame them for driving down teacher's wages through their aparent willingness to do that kind of work. If fewer people put up with little kids crap then demand would increase and drive up wages across the board.
Posted by: Andrew | November 16, 2007 at 05:16 PM
At least our boarder crashing invaders from the south have not yet taken teaching jobs and driven down their wages, unlike roofers, construction, workers etc.
Posted by: chucks | November 16, 2007 at 05:21 PM
Better change the law, then, Andrew. By law we are required to "put up with" and actually try to teach every single child who walks through the door, regardless of their situation.
Posted by: sparky | November 16, 2007 at 06:34 PM
I'll be the first to vote for a pay raise for teachers, but on the flip side of the equation, if fewer people were willing to teach for what they pay in the first place, then the government would have no choice but to raise the wage and consequently the taxes needed to cover it.
Maybe you're the special teacher who says "I don't get payed enough!", but look around at all your peers, you don't see them quiting to look for private sector work. Maybe you don't belong.
Posted by: Andrew | November 16, 2007 at 09:50 PM
huh?
Posted by: sparky | November 16, 2007 at 10:16 PM
Oh, contraire dear heart. You do see them quitting or not starting.
At least, Andrew, people of quality and talent. I see smart degreed educators come through my school almost every year who, after a year of training on the job, get out.
And the percentage who get out after five to seven years is very high. I don't want to quote it because I've seen different numbers but I've seen as high as 40%.
I know several of them.
Also, teaching is traditional woman's work - in the main. And even you must know that women have been underpaid in all "women's work" professions until recently.
And I might add that fewer qualified people are applying for the jobs. And they are willing to take the pay they are offered. There are a lot of places around the country where uncertified people are teaching. Sometimes it works out and sometimes children just make do . . .
I wonder, Andrew, what you do for a living? Or do you still live at home and under the monetary guidance of your parents?
