As we predicted, Bill O'Reilly (KTTH m-f,9-11p) sent his thuggish Smee, Jesse Watters to Seattle to ambush Post-Intelligencer publisher Roger Oglesby at his Capital Hill home asking him do-you-still-beat-your-wife questions about editorial columnist Dorothy Parvaz's blasphemies, and the P-I's refusal to publish some pictures of some alleged Middle Eastern men who were alleged to be taking pictures on the ferries last summer.
These unrepentant acts of treason had Billo blowing like a humpback. Even worse by O'Reilly's lights: Neither Oglesby nor Dorothy would go on his show to be spanked.
Roger did well, keeping his cool as the boanthropic Watters, armed with
a cameraman, and a microphone peppered him with questions in his own
driveway. He was not so nonplussed that he stumbled or looked like a
dog humping a beer bottle which are the results O'Reilly was hoping
for.
This is certainly an attempt to magnify O'Reilly's view of himself as the 21st century Walter Winchell. It's but tin-horn intimidation by the self-important, but we couldn't help think how a small publisher or reporter without the Hearst Corporation behind them might crumble to the bully's bluster.
(The occasional fool who actually goes on The Factor to answer one of these overblown O'Reilly tabloid-style accusations is interrupted and yelled at on-air, but gets a pat on the head at the end and a, "You're a stand-up guy for coming on here and we appreciate it." They are always guys- women are treated differently by the show- always patronized and treated to a little pathetic, yet deeply disgusting flirty-flirt).
Oglesby is not the first influential Seattleite to fend off the
bullying tactics of O'Reilly: In the early 1990's when Mike Siegel
(KITZ m-f, 5-7p) was at his apex at KVI, Billo was working at the
tabloid/gossip tee-vee show Inside Edition. Siegel had a
conspiracy theory going that there was a sex-with-boys ring that
involved Seattle police chief Fitzsimmons, the Thurston County
Sheriff's office, the Pierce County Water Board. the Seattle Men's
Choir, the Everett PEO, and all manner of Seattle big shots. The OK
Boys Ranch was in it, and the DeMolay. Mayor Norm Rice was supposedly
covering it up. Siegel convinced Billo to come to Seattle and confront
Rice in his office, but Norm, reportedly had someone tell O'Reilly he
needed an appointment, and Billo sat in the reception area until he got
bored and went back to New York.
We're actually jealous of Dorothy Parvaz- and even ol' Rog- we wish
O'Reilly would notice us- that could really help our blog traffic. He
keeps making threats against far-left bloggers- hell, that's us! We've
done so many things on this blog to hurt America, but nobody notices.
Jesus Bill, whatta we gotta do???
Tonight there was an inkling that O'Reilly might turn against all of Seattle as he has San Francisco who he says has been taken over by Secular Progressives. (That really surprised us!)
Could Seattle be in for the same brutal treatment he gave France, completely ruined their economy?
Might be: At the end of his segment trashing the Seattle P-I, O'Reilly said that P-I owner Hearst Corp wouldn't comment on that old traitor Oglesby and the reprehensible turncoat, Parvaz.
"It's a good corporation," he said of Hearst. "but there's something very wrong with Seattle."
Go get 'em Bill! Who cares 'bout the PI? It's Seattle's second rate paper under the Times. Hell, the Journal gives it a run for it's money. The PI does have a somewhat decent sports section. To bad that all this gives the PI some undeserved attention and of course B'watch to blog & spin.

The Journal?

O'Reilly is an egomaniac and an idiot; much like 'Rush' and 'Randi', 'can't we all just get-along' WITHOUT them.

Maybe he meant the "urinal"?

Every time Jesse Watters ambushes somebody with a question, the response should be, "Ask Andrea Mackris"
Let's see if Billo puts that on the air.

Spot on, abob!

Interesting. I think Washington is a 2-party consent state. That means recording someone without permission is a crime. Wonder if Mr. Oglesby has thought about filing a complaint.

Since the liberal MSM invented the "ambush interview" the P-I should be honored. At least that worthless liberal rag got some publicity.

If you watched O'Reilly segments leading up to the "ambush," and then watched the ambush itself, you'd see that Ol' Rog ran like a scaredy cat, as well he should for refusing to cooperate with a legitimate FBI investigation.
And Ms. Parvaz? Hey! If you want to say in an editorial that you sympathize with those who seek to blow up churches, then I guess you deserve all the grief that comes your way!
Curious...did she ever figure out where she could register to vote...legally?
The Piper

Hey Pip: did you actually read what Parvaz wrote? It's innocuous unless you're looking for something to bop somebody over the head with- which is O'Reilly's show business schtick.
You're a blowhard, Piper, a paper patriot--and a chickenshit as well.
It's easy, Piper, to be outspoken and and patriotically correct when you're anonymous. When are you going to put your name alongside your prolific opinionating like Parvaz does?
Why should anyone listen to you, an anonymous blowhard? Because your kid is in Iraq? That ain't good enough, you fake.

The P-I is nothing but white wine-drinking, cheese-eating effete liberal elitists.
They hate the troops, they hate America, and they're rooting for Al Qaida.
And I am a Bush-hater,too.

Amazing this knucklehead writing blatherwatch is so upset that a member of the media gets put on the spot for decisions he has made.
If the PI sent a reporter to get o reilly in his driveway, blatherwatch would be calling it "outstanding journalism."
