More intimidation attempts out of Billo and Fox News.
Remember how we wrote that we wished Bill O'Reilly would notice us so BlatherWatch would get the attention (and traffic) we crave?
Maybe we better be careful what we wish for...

The initial general consensus on Daily Kos was that Mike was wrong to approach him at his house, that "harrassment" at one's personal home was not what progressives were about. But then Bill started doing it himself...and he had previously sent out the "Fox Police" when Mike called him on his show and mentioned the word "Olbermann."
Now that BillO is resorting to the same tactics, I guess it will get interesting. He will probably use the universal defense of 3rd graders " He did it first."

"He will probably use the universal defense of 3rd graders " He did it first.""
Why 3rd graders?

Does anyone here even listen to O'Reilly on the radio? I don't. I don't think I've ever heard one show of his. I doubt anyone else here listens to him, either. Even the right-wingers. Which leads me to ask BM, why do you post so much about a guy who nobody on your blog listens to?
Posted by: DT | November 13, 2007 at 03:26 PM
Hey Dense Thinker,
Can you read the sub-title of the blog?
I'm embarrassed for you.

Picture Billie boy in the nude.
Now picture him and Dr Laura in their birthday suit.
I bet it's happened at least once.

It's amazing how this board attacks successful people.
The guy worked his ass off and moved all the way up from a journailst for A Current Affair to having the most watched cable tv news show and a syndicated radio program.
The man loves his country and despises misfits and low-lifes.
The material on this blog is frankly sacry and way out of line.

And as if B'lam has never done this type of thing. Remember the Webb courthouse harrassment incident where Webb knocked D&D's camera away. Like Sparky says, "he did it first" right B'lam.
Posted by: Nevets | November 13, 2007 at 06:51 PM
If it's a contraction for Blathering Michael, shouldn't it be Bla'M, and not B'lam?
Posted by: DT | November 13, 2007 at 06:57 PM
What, did I forget the "E".
Posted by: Nevets | November 13, 2007 at 07:05 PM
Bill, we like sacry.
duffman..if you spent as much time around 8 year olds as I do, you would recognize the universal excuse " He did it first," which comes right after "I didn't do it." Most people grow out of it, some don't.
And ryder, thanks for tonights nightmares!

Keith Olbermann has some hilarious advice on how to (and how not to) deal with an O'Reilly hack attack:

Posted by: YellowPup | November 13, 2007 at 07:46 PM
My Man Bill is a bonafide O'Reilly kool aid drinker.
While, I think he serves a purpose to the public - I don't go along with his tactics and the Andrea Makris (sp ?) is a stain on his record and believe he is better on TV than radio. To his credit, he has interviewed people on both sides - Michael Moore, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Bush, Guilliani, Barack Obama and generally asks tough questions - as Tim Russert does on Meet the Press.
To compare him with a ding-dong like Keith O. on MSNBC (More Snotty Nonsense By Creeps) is ridiculous. He will go away if a Democrat is elected President as he will not be able to find any more political material. He gets ratings from being a shock-commentator gasbag, who doesn't let the truth get in the way. Take that clown off with his lame humor off of Sunday night Football or their ratings will go in the toilet.

Don't watch Olbermann much but he certainly did have some fun at Billo's expense tonight. And he does it without yelling.
Poor Billo. What's a penetrating and even-handed name-calling bombastic interviewer to do?
Posted by: joanie | November 13, 2007 at 11:26 PM
O'Reilly is confrontational, controversial and compelling. He battles nightly against guests who vehemently object to his views. Billo dominates the ratings because he understands why most folks watch political talk shows. Both fans and critics look forward to O'Reilly's intense duels and impassioned tirades on hot button topics.
Olbermann is smart & informed but far less interesting. He's intellectually aloof and condescending. His disgusting habit of throwing papers on the floor, that janitors have to clean up, reinforces his arrogant air of superiority and entitlement. He is blithely content preaching to the choir. The next time Olbermann interviews somebody with an opposing opinion; it will be the first time.
Posted by: abob | November 14, 2007 at 06:43 AM
abob; although I don't care for O'Reilly I think you're right. He is in the same class as 'Rush' and on a local level 'Dori' - THEY KNOW HOW TO GENERATE INTEREST, therefore ratings...therefore $mucho bucks.
btw: I think Olbermann actually assumes his other role 'as janitor' after show airs...so he picks up after himself..
Posted by: Duffman | November 14, 2007 at 06:52 AM
abob . . . a mystery no longer. Turn ons: Dr. Laura and Mama Partridge; compelling political talk: Billo and Rush? "impassioned"(yells a lot) and "compelling"(calls people names). Billo appeals to the "brain stem" crowd. Olberman appeals to the cerebral crowd.
That's it in a nutshell. Enjoy your faux wrestler.
Posted by: joanie | November 14, 2007 at 08:05 AM
Wrong, as usual. It's now becoming you! :)
Posted by: Duffman | November 14, 2007 at 08:30 AM
joanie is kind of right on her last point. Olberman does appeal to the cerebral hemorrhaging crowd.

why doesn't Fox just admit that they are a mouthpiece for the Republican Party? Everyone already knows it and its ok! It's not like they are going to lose their current audience..in fact, it might even attract more conservatives to watch.
By telling Judith Regan not to spoil Rudy's campaign by telling what she knows about Kerick, they have set themselves up for possible prosecution for the staffers who warned Judith, and an additional stain on the station. But Rupert probably figures it will just attract more attention and advertising dollars.
Posted by: sparky | November 14, 2007 at 10:27 AM
Judith Regan in a nutshell:
Judith Regan will say and do anything to damage former lover Bernie Kerik and the corporation that fired her ass for trying to publish the OJ book. Regan is a cougar. A middle aged divorced woman thrilled to find a rich and powerful man (Bernie Kerik) who banged her brains out and drove her to sexual ecstasy. Bernie eventually dumped her ass for younger poontang. Judith turned into the archetypical vengeful scorned bitch on wheels.
Posted by: abob | November 14, 2007 at 12:48 PM
Im sure that is an accurate description of her...however, apparently there is a tape of a conversation or a voice mail where she is instructed to lie about and hide information about Kerik and Giuliani. I dont care who she drops her drawers for. Lying during an investigation is illegal.

I actually enjoyed O'Reilly's radio show when it debuted and for the first couple of years. He would say things like how our society was corrupt in many ways, when his counterparts such as Hannity and Medved (too busy polishing George's knob) wouldn't dare speak any such truths. In recent years, however, he has devolved into this "pathological powertripper" persona, where he's just consumed with the now dreary "boasting about Bill's big balls" thing and using his power to bully, threaten and intimidate those who dare disagree with his at least publicly professed Catholic rightwing prude values agenda.
Posted by: Tommy008 | November 14, 2007 at 01:48 PM
Judith Regan deserves the same amount of national media coverage as Kathleen Willey...ZERO.
Posted by: abob | November 14, 2007 at 03:23 PM
OK Blathering Michael...
Why doesn't someone just come out and say what we're all thinking...
"I can't stand football and I don't understand why KIRO is involved in its broadcast!"
What ON EARTH is that promo KIRO plays over and over...LIVE FOR THIS....I LIVE FOR THIS.....!!!!
Is that simply a Dori fan tripping out on LSD?
Please comment accordingly.
Posted by: Seahwak Fan NOT | November 14, 2007 at 08:04 PM
Let me see if I have this right, Seahawk Fan NOT. Because you, and some others, don't like football, it shouldn't be broadcast on KIRO? If you really believe that, then you must also believe that ANY type of program or host that is on KIRO that is disliked by some people should be taken off the air. Am I correct in understanding your logic?
Posted by: DT | November 14, 2007 at 08:52 PM
a boob: Judith Regan in a nutshell:
Judith Regan will say and do anything...
...a middle aged divorced woman thrilled to find ... "
OMG! An admitted brain-stem-i-ac trying to psycho-analyze anybody. Don't these neanderthals realize that analysis is a function of the cerebral cortex? You've got to have one to do it, a boob.
Posted by: joanie | November 14, 2007 at 09:05 PM
Ok
You libtards can screw with my taxes and steal my hard earned money to give to those who choose to not work or pay for their kids food and medical care. But do not fu&$ with my listening to the radio while sitting at Qwest field watching football.
You can undermine our military, lie about my President, elect left wing whack jobs to the Senate and congress. You can put that whiny piss ant Senator from Nevada on tv every night to lie about our Marines and Strykers. You can re-elect Bill Clinton with your proxy votes for Hillary, but you mess with my enjoyment of football and it will be a war like none you have ever seen in the history of all mankind.
Posted by: chucks | November 14, 2007 at 09:16 PM
Well, chucks, seeing as how you're sitting at Qwest Field complimentary of my taxes, I hope you at least got a good seat.
I'm sure the mentally-ill soldiers who are on their way back to Iraq are hoping you're having a great time watching grown men throw a ball back and forth also.
Posted by: joanie | November 14, 2007 at 09:32 PM
Hey joanie
Have you noticed that I have not said anything mean or crappy to or about you for two weeks? Won't change tonight.
For the record, I liked the King Dome. It was warm and efficient. And very loud. I did not support the Stadium bonds. You know how cheap I am so you gotta know that is true.
The two or three games per year that I can not attend, I drive over to the front gate of Ft Lewis. Give the first soldier who wants them two tickets and a parking pass. Usually spend about three minutes there. I love those people.
Posted by: chucks | November 14, 2007 at 09:44 PM
Well, hell, chucks, you're just no fun anymore!
How is it, chucks, that we can build four huge bases in Iraq but we can't get their electricity back on nor their water running? How is that, chucks?
And how is it that you can support an administration that puts sick soldiers back on airplanes to Iraq?
I don't get you . . . I just don't. I think I like you but I just don't get you. (Well, sometimes I like you - let's leave it at that.)
Posted by: joanie | November 14, 2007 at 10:01 PM
I ma sinply raising the compatibility issue between News Talk 710 KIRO and Seahawk broadcasts?
Isn't that something for the sports radio stations?
And what is it with the 10 hours of pre and post game coverage? What the hell is there to talk about after say a 15 minute post game wrap-up?
KIRO should get out of sports broadcasting. It's like a bakery selling seafood.
Posted by: Seahawk Fan NOT | November 14, 2007 at 10:10 PM
Seahawk Fan NOT: You will never be a program director. Commercial time sold before, during and after Seahawks broadcasts account for more than 50% of KIRO's profits.
Posted by: abob | November 14, 2007 at 10:25 PM
"and the looting of cables, destruction of hightension towers, and sabotage of fuel lines persist. "
Hey Joanie, maybe because we don't destroy our electrical power equipment like the Iraqis do.
Posted by: Nevets | November 14, 2007 at 11:08 PM
Well, like I always say, ask a simple man a question and you'll get a simple answer.
Guess the Iraqis just like the bases better 'n their own villages and cities. How silly of me to even question it.
Thanks for your - uh - wisdom, a-boob.
Posted by: joanie | November 15, 2007 at 07:59 AM
Oops, sorry, aboob, that was my ever reliable misinformed Steven to whom I should have responded. Hard to tell you all apart these days. :)
Posted by: joanie | November 15, 2007 at 08:00 AM
Maybe Joanie, Maybe. Maybe they see them bases as a form of security from the next Saddam or an Invasion form Iran which would likely come if the Libs get thier way and force a troop withdrawal. But as long as it makes you happy, who cares for them Iraqis right Joanie.
Posted by: Nevets | November 15, 2007 at 09:50 AM
steven: you will never get thru to joanie, she is a lot like my mom. To this day my mom still believes OJ is innocent (& I don't mean just by court/jury decree) but that there was an LA police conspiracy against him. She refuses to believe ANYthing else. I've given up trying to convince her otherwise.
IMO joanie is similar; will not choose to decipher truth, but will believe what she WANTS to believe no matter what, as long as it fits into her political spectrum. God Bless Her!
Posted by: Duffman | November 15, 2007 at 09:57 AM
There is always a slim possibility she will come out of her cave Duff. Them cold damp walls have got to be closing in on her by now. What with her Libs in power now and nothing getting done. Even Randi is starting to say that and she so upset that she is starting to go over the Houses schedule and show her dismay at the petty things they are tackling instead of the important issues she wants them to get done. They were had and they still don't get it.
