My Man Dori

Like him or not, Drudge is likely the most innovative individual in today's media. He has shaped the way we investigate and report the news of the day.

His voice will be missed.

wutitiz

Drudge was marginally effective as a radio talk host. Maybe better than most transplants from other media, but not enough so.
Who is KVI going to get now? Maybe they'll get Shark, since KIRO has Goldy. Based on the way Shark eviscerated Goldy on Goldy's show last week, I think he might just do ok.

"..He has shaped the way we investigate and report the news of the day."

That is very sad.

coiler

Radio is his family. Is he gay?

My Man Dori

Practically every sub-par talk show host steals his topics from Drudge.

Dori has the best ratings in Seattle. That can't be argued.

This just in...Larry Craig reconsiders his pending decision thinking about whether or not to turn in his resignation at the end of the month.

What an inspiration!

He isnt going to resign after all???
Awesome!!! Larry Craig forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bill

Larry Craig...

He's just the gift that keeps on giving, isn't he?

coiler

We need more like him to step in the bucket of paint for the Grand old Potty.

David

Matt Drudge is a Jew. And, why is he obssessed with hurricanes?

JDB

I've never understood why people pay so much attention to Drudge, he doesn't do anything original, he just post other people's stuff. Hell, Wonkette probably puts up as many stories in a day, and it is fun to read. Drudge is just stolen material.

Still, it does tell you what the conservative talking points for the day are. If you look at Drudge's site, you probably have 85% of the topics from that day in Talk Radio, without the obnoxious "Why isn't the Main Stream Media covering this story that I'm reading to you from the front page of the New York Times" set up.

PugetSound

Drudge walked away from his weekend TV show after a disagreement with Fox. The Radio Show was okay when it had an interesting guest but was horrible when he just took calls.
I think he views TV and Radio as not being his mediums.
All Drudge really does is link to the other stories. It is rare when he does his own story.
But most radio hosts look at Drudge as show prep. I've even heard Ross admit to it in the past.

Lenny

Are you kidding? His radio show is a 3 hour commercial for his site. He'll never let that go.

He's brilliant! When Drudge puts up a story, producers, DJs, and media persons KNOW it's gonna be in the news cycle for the day.. week. Just read the site for a week and watch TV, read papers/net, and listen to AM radio!!! It will prove my point.

I listen to syrupy, gooy, nothing radio, though never turn on the decayed TV, now and then (the networks and NPR crap). One can’t imagine how disappointed I am at seeing that Drudge left radio. Since he actually DOES news and shares his hard-bitten insights based upon real stories, he was the source for nobodies like me and somebodies like most others in his business. I will miss him terribly on Sunday night! There are other talk shows, of which Rush is my other great need, part of life, but none have his savvy, slick edge. Matt, how could you abandon us, there are so few places to turn to escape the establishment palaver!!
