« Phil hendrie to KTTH | Main | Another nail in the coffin of legacy talk radio? »

September 20, 2007

I listened to his announcement yesterday morning and it was pretty funny. If he wins, then I should file a suit against Cenk on behalf of my dear departed father who repeated this joke many years ago.

Good a time as any to ask: What happened to the other Turk? Is he gone? If so, why does the show name still contain a plural noun?

Ben Mankowitz left to work on a program about movies, but said he would come back from time to time to sit in. The Most Annoying Jill lost interest and left the show a few months ago. Cenk sometimes has Wes Clark's son on with him or Christy Harvey. All are good.

Cenk, as good as he is can't carry the show himself. He needs a co-host. It was better with 2.

Is it that people don't want to get up at 2 in the morning to do the show?

Is it that Cenk is hard to work with? Inquiring minds want to know.

Cenk is all about sour grapes - like Dan Blather is trying to sue CBS for $70M. R(Bl)ather is a bonafide hypocrite.

Colbert is a class act, funny as hell sometimes and seems like a talent. Stewart isn't bad either, but Colbert shows his creativity and talent even though he isn't always original.

If that's a joke, it's a shitty joke. I didn't listen to Air America before but now I never will. I will trash talk it in every off topic conversation. I will trash talk Air America in eulogies. I will subvert Air America everywhere I find the oppurtunity in my daily life. That company is almost dead and it couldn't die soon enough.

That's ridiculous. He's not going to sue . . . I mean, does that mean that every joke about Dick Cheney being Darth Vader is going to win some original joker $65 million? I mean, let's get real here.

Also, Andrew, you shouldn't badmouth AA if you don't listen. There are too many good people on KPTK to not listen. Especially Sam Seder. Honest to god he's great. Kind of shallow of you to just badmouth for the sake of badmouthing. Don't you think?

BTW,Sparky, how do you know she "lost interest" rather than "got fired?" And I agree that he needs a cohost. He's great but he needs a straight man. Too much of a good thing by himself.

I thought the show was doing well.

That guy looks like the spawn of Sean Hannity and his pet monkey. He has the Air America logo prominantly displayed behind himself. I take that to be an endorsement of this embarrassing excuse of a radio host. This video is almost a parody of itself, showcasing how inferior his own delivery of that "joke" was to that of Colbert's.

KS...Andrew.....it was a JOKE. Jesus. There is no lawsuit. J-O-K-E. That you couldn't figure that out is hilarious in itself.

Joanie, I just going by what they said on the show. She hardly ever participated even when she was on the show and she moved on to "other projects." Im not sure what she 'does'.

I thought it was a joke up until he quoted OJ Simpson, and I thought, no human being could possibly mistake that for funny.

Now this: The estate of Gene Roddenberry, creator of the Star Trek Klingons, is suing Cenk Uygur, Air America AND Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central, et. al. for defamation and malicious abuse of patented characters. This is an action pursuant to recently enacted intellectual property laws. Where will it all end??!

You need to learn how to listen more and hear less.

Like I said, assuming it was a joke, in addition to being an awful comedian, he's shamelessly piggy backing on Colbert to get some notoriety.

This reminds me of the far right winger husband of my far right winger cousin..when you tell him a joke, he stops a moment, and then says, "Really?"

Shitty jokes do that. He probably wants to believe it's a joke but it's not funny, so how can one tell if you're serious or a failure comedian?

hmmm another coiler eh?
