  • The Reagan Wing
Hearin lies the real heart of Washington State Republicans. Doug Parris runs this red-meat social conservative group site which bars no holds when it comes to saying who they are and who they're not; what they believe and what they don't; who their friends are and where the rest of the Republicans can go. Well-written, and flaming.

Little could be worse than the smarmy Shiers; maybe Goldy will pick up the ball and run.

sparky

I thought 20 somethings didn't listen to AM radio?

litlnemo

Geez. Just a couple of days ago I was complaining that KBSG was lumping the older Gen Xers in with the Baby Boomers. Now Bonneville thinks Gen X are Millennials. (The Millennials are Gen Y, and still no older than 26.) No one really wants Gen X, do they? I guess we're used to it. First the Boom ruled pop culture, then we had just a couple brief years, then the Millennials took over. Now we're back to being no one's target market, again.

Flub

Sure Shiers and KIRO at night sucks but this will be worse! Heard baaaad things about this show.

Gusto

We don't like Vinnie. We have to be honest wit chu. We think he should go back to New York to have his fatal heart attack. That's what we think.

sparky

Gusto! I will take Vinnie over Erin any day! If you have never heard him host non-sports shows, he is One Of Us.

Soapymouth

"..he is One Of Us."

..coiler & sparky both use this phrase...Hmmmm

does one of us mean 'human being', 'civilized man/woman', 'earthling'...or no wait could it mean political slant?

coiler

Not to worry soapy, the republicans are getting sent to camps for "relocation" The rest are being chased around at PIR by big engined Hemi's for entertainment, ya know?

John

I don't think anyone under 35 listens to Broadcast Radio. (period) The only way a station like KIRO is going to stay alive is to leverage the "local" aspect of their programming.

sparky

You're projecting again, Duffman.

Without having heard this program, it seems like the first strike against it is that it's originating in Salt Lake City. It's hard to believe that the same sensibility -- even among "millenials" or whatever is the target audience -- that works in white-bread SLC would work in Washington DC or in Seattle.

Am I wrong, or was the last syndicated talk show that originated in Salt Lake City "Herb Jepko's Nitecaps," whose audience was primarily people in the 70 to dead demographic? It was hugely successful among listeners who wanted to hear other people complain about their bursitis.

Bill

And Herb was always there ready to sell them something for those aches and pains.

Nuthin' better than listening to Aunt Getrude tell ol' Herb that her begonias weren't looking so good this year!

Ragnar Danneskjold

They need to fire Goldstein...he has a miserable voice for radio, he's ovnoxious and his website surely falls outside the norms of normalcy AND the family oriented normes of the Mormon faith.

He and his supporters are disgusting.

sparky

I take that as a high compliment Ragnar. If we piss you off, we are on the right track.

Ragnar Danneskjold

Stefan Sharkansky, or Eric Earling could put on a show with no obscenities, and give a chance for poeople to taalk who are not liberals or libertines. They could start a real discussion in Seattle. A real values conservative on the radio would be refreshing especially on the sewer of KIRO.

Randy / Redmond

I liked Ron Reagan. Well informed and mannered, articulate, addressing subjects of substance. Much better than what replaces him.

Did Mormon broadcasting KIRO fire Reagan for being an atheist? Should Mitt Romney be disqualified for being Mormon?

Visit the burnt-out husk of one of the seminal right-wing talkers in all the land. Here's where once trilled the reactionary tones of Rush Limbaugh, John Carlson, Kirby Wilbur, Mike Siegel, Peter Weissbach, Floyd Brown, Dinky Donkey, and Bryan Suits.
