Scott White, who's confessed to murdering former KIRO talk host Mike Webb will be arraigned on first degree murder charges Monday morning in the King County Courthouse, Rm. 1201 at 8:30a.
White has confessed, according to police, but the motive is still unclear. We've been told the homeless 28-year-old had a nasty heroin/meth addiction; a crime signature of those drugs are out-of-proportion crimes for small amounts of money.

What could be more disproportionate than a stab wound to Webb's chest; 3 stab wounds to the neck; one to the shoulder, and 5 lengthy lacerations across his face that resulted in a skull fracture consistent with blows from a double-bladed ax?
Could it be that Webb was so horrifically brutalized for his defunct credit cards, his DSHS food stamp card, "several electronic items" and some laptops the cops recovered at a Capital Hill pawn shop?
White, who's being held on $1 million bail, will either plea guilty or not-guilty. A not-guilty plea at this point doesn't mean much. It could mean his attorney needs more time, or... that his confession might have been improper in some way.
The charging papers say White was taken to a SPD Homicide Office interview room "where he was read his Miranda warnings... The defendant stated he understood his rights."
Later when confronted with some of the evidence, police say, "White made an equivocal request for an attorney. The detectives stopped their questioning and inquired whether the defendant wanted an attorney. After being given time to decide, the defendant chose to speak with the detectives."
I just hope these S.P.D. champs didn't screw up the conviction bydoing som jackassery in the interrogation room, Equivocal request? What you mean equivocal? The man asked for an attorney. I thought that was when you stopped talking to the suspect , period. That's how they do it on The First 48. I've never seen them give the guy some time to think about it. I've got a bad feeling.

Recording that someone was equivocal is equivocal in itself.

Hmph. The shitbag pleaded not guilty according to the Times.

Question: why do all the people in all the mortgage commercials all sound like heavy breathing bottomfeeders (on-air talent included)?

WADR Do you think it might have somehting to do with YOUR perception of the people. They, like all of us are simply trying to make a living - why would you put them in such light just because they happen to be in the public eye. Sounds like you might have too much time on your hands.

"Sounds like you might have too much time on your hands."
LOL whilst considering the source.

Oh plz. That took a whole 8 seconds to type while in total I've listended to those slimy creeps for hours. Meanwhile there you are, with nothing to do but stifle dissent, me, who is standing up for the listener, so realy, who has the excessive free time?
Posted by: Andrew | July 30, 2007 at 01:11 PM
The listener is in control here; no one is twisting your arm to listen to anything.
Hi Mungo...nice to hear from you.

When Hayes Barnard talks I feel touched. Inapropriately. Barney Aldrich insists they're nice people. When have you ever known nice people to describe themselves as nice people?
Posted by: Andrew | July 30, 2007 at 01:18 PM
Hayes Barnard sounds like a cult leader. All he needs is a jungle clearing a seedy P.A. system, an audience of 400, and the tables with pitchers of koolaid and stacks of dixiecups on them.

It wouldn't surprise me if this suspect is now going to claim abuse as a child and blame this on his apparent up-bringing (or lack thereof); and try to portray himself as 'a victim' himself.

Frank Shires is sitting in for Dori as we speak. VERY EXCITING radio folks! ;o)

Yeah, except his verminlike behavior , postmortem, in pawning and selling of the victim's stuff, and partying with dreadlocked (and probably noseringed) creeps in the decedent's house, kind of tends to put a crimp in any "perp as victim" defense strategy.

duff says "It wouldn't surprise me if this suspect ... try to portray himself as 'a victim' himself."
It's so obvious it hurts.

..then why did you have to acknowledge and/or accentuate it?..just to get at me
and I just love how you MIS-quote (you do it all the time), extremely telling

I beg of you to as yourself these questions before posting: does my comment go without saying? am I simply repeating what everyone else is already thinking? am I stating the obvious? Then decide if you should still post rather than just posting anyway.

I just hope the TRUTH comes out, and I have a feeling that Mike Webb's life will be exposed and it will be hurtful to his friends.

We couldn't agree more.
