~ Talk radio, Paris Hilton notwithstanding, is sticking its knife into the President just like everybody else- too bad he's already dead! (Wish we had a pickle for every talk radio hour spent last week by hosts getting callers to agree that the bad, bad media pays too much attention to Paris Hilton!) We always like to say that talk radio is losing its clout, but the heavy shit-fall brought down on the immigration reform bill was pretty impressive. The R's are torn asunder, and the Dems, through no fault of their own, are looking pretty good.
~ "Unlike Nixon, President Bush is less an overreaching Machiavelli than an epic blunderer surrounded by Machiavellis." ~ Frank Rich
~ Who knew, dep't? It's probably puerile to note this in this prestigious Blog of Record, but as usual, we can't help ourselves: according to a Shakespearean dictionary, a "malkin" is a kitchen slut. Perhaps (perchance?) that explains why one of the most common Googly key phrases that will fetch up BlatherWatch is "Michelle Malkin naked." Posting this, we risk the Malkinian wrath and the Elizabethan epithet: "Thou beslubbering motley-minded lewdster!"
~ David Goldstein (KIRO Saturdays, Sundays, 7-10p) pointed out this week that the Moscow newspaper's name, Pravda
translated means The Truth. Was it ignorance or was there something
sinister going on at the right wing talk station KTTH when they picked
their slogan? (we're betting it was the latter) In Soviet days,
"The Truth" was the lying-est publication on the planet. Perhaps "The
Truthy" might be a better fit for the station with such known liars
such as Big Pants, Michael Savage and Billo Reilly.
~ Our favoritest words entered into the magic Google box that brought readers our way this week was: "booty clench dance." Fucking poetry, no?
~ Another scoop that turned to poop: we thought we had a big one last week when Crosscut editor Chuck Taylor referred to David Postman as "the erstwhile Seattle Times chief political reporter" in his piece, "What the Seattle bloggers are saying about Al Gore."
Since 'erstwhile' means 'former,' we thought Postman had lost his job;
we might be able to entice him to work for BlatherWatch; and that at least we had a big,
big media scoop. We fired off a volley of what-the-fuck??? emails to
everyone involved. Seems David still has his job, and neither Chuck nor
David knew what 'erstwhile 'means. Taylor, consummate grownup that he
is, acknowledged the error,
and changed the word to 'veteran.' David
wrote, "You're paying the price of being literate. Hacks like me didn't
know what the word meant, so it caused no alarm." After an embarrassing
grammar skirmish a few months ago which we lost to Chuck's boss, David
Brewster, we shoulda stood in bed. By the way: downtown venture capital apparently isn't everything to the young, struggling upstart: click here to drop a few shekels in the Crosscut tip jar.
~ It's been pretty quiet aund radio town lately so as filler
we're including this photo Lt. Bryan Suits (KVI m-f, 3-6p) sent us of
him (in the swim-mask) and an Iraqi kid who may be in an upcoming
roSeahawk draft.
~ Buying the ranch. Liberal Los Angeles talk host, Bree Walker (KTLK ) is buying peace mom Cindy Sheehan's 5-acre ranch near President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas to make into a "peace park." Sheehan refused to sell it to the vile San Francisco KSFO Melanie Morgan whose right-wing front organization ITMove America Forward sponsored "You Don't Speak for Me, Cindy!" tour. Sheehan, in August 2005, camped in ditches near Bush's ranch for 26 days, demanding to talk with him. She gets credit for making the first cracks in the wall of public acceptance of the cursed Bush/Cheney war. Her son Army Spc. Casey Sheehan was killed at 24 in Baghdad in 2004. Thank-you for your service, Cindy.
Bree Walker is an amazing woman...I have followed her career ever since she was featured in an article about how she refused to let the news producers hide her webbed hands on the air. I will have to see if I can stream her show..

IMHO Cindy Sheehan was no service to this country (or her family). She made a fool of herself and those misguided enough to support her. I doubt her son (as a free-thinking volunteer) would agree with her ridiculous tactics. With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)

"Lt. Bryan Suits..... sent us of him (in the swim-mask) and an Iraqi kid who may be in an upcoming roSeahawk draft."
If that is a 'kid', then I'm still a friggin infant.

duffman said "With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)"
You're nothing but class. Did I read correctly; dead soldier son is spilt milk?
"I doubt her son (as a free-thinking volunteer) would agree with her ridiculous tactics."
1) he's dead, who knows 2) it wouldn't matter anyway 3) maybe he signed up for the college funds.

Isn't it amazing how after the immigration debate that suddenly the right sees Bush like everyone else? In the last month, I've seen them accuse Bush of putting out a terrorist scare to distract from immigration, ignoring the facts, ignoring the will of the people, being surround by yes men, and of foolishly continuing a policy long after it was proven wrong. Sheesh, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and most everyone else on the right now sound like they should be posting on Kos.

Careful, Duffy will accuse you of mentioning the "short bus" again..
Posted by: coiler | June 13, 2007 at 10:29 AM
Sir Andrew: leave it to you to conclude I was referring to her son. Let me say I'm sorry for her loss and I feel her pain (having lost someone dear recently also) - no I was of course referring to the committment that has been made by our elected officials for our military in Iraq.
And, just for the record - I don't believe her son was a soldier? I think he was a Marine. ...and as a Marine would proudly tell you..I'm no soldier :)
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 11:14 AM
I purposely confuse soldiers and marines to make the point that their lives are eqauly indispensable in my eyes.
Posted by: Andrew | June 13, 2007 at 11:20 AM
Yeah sure!
..and it's spelled 'equally'
Have another Fresca...and chill :)

Pointing out spelling mistakes is the last refuge of a scoundrel. I litter my posts with them to sniff you types out.
Posted by: Andrew | June 13, 2007 at 11:35 AM
..and recoil: I'm sorry you have a short bus; there are things that can be done about that condition but probably not for discussion on this topic :)
Excuse the expression: ..hang in there..or try your best

Pointing out spelling mistakes is the last refuge of a scoundrel. I litter my posts with them to sniff you types out.
LOL! Oh, Okay..yeah I should have known that.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 11:44 AM
I find that those so opposed to Sheehan do so quite inanely. They can't attack her message so they attack her methods. It is telling of the moral character of said individuals who question her patriotism and spout BS like Duff did, that "she is no service to her country."
Quite the contrary, my friend. She spoke out and she used her inalienable right to speak the truth and express her opinions regardless of what you and others said about her. No more and no less.
Telling one to shut up in life and death debates of war and peace is the personification of anti-Americanism. Just thought you might be a better man than that.
Posted by: cowpotpi3 | June 13, 2007 at 11:55 AM
Duffy, it has been proven what a troll you are, by the fake outrage and the so-called Hillary support. Stop it, ok?
Posted by: coiler | June 13, 2007 at 11:57 AM
That 'analysis' is not even worthy of a retort!

Oh, Okay 'shorty'!

Even though it is not carried on 770AM, don't forget Blatherwatch in that group.

Fremont
Is what Andrew says about spelling true? Are you a scoundrel that is sniff out-able?
Thought never crossed my mind. Just want you to opine. For the record:
Casey Sheehan was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st cavalry Div, US Army, Ft Hood, Texas.
In 2000, Sheehan enlisted in the US Army. Near the end of his tour of duty, the US invasion of Iraq began. Sheehan reenlisted, knowing that his unit would be sent to Iraq. His unit arrived in Sadr City on March 19, 2004.
Sheehan was a devout Catholic and had acted as an alter server during Mass on the morning of his death.
Casey and seven other soldiers were killed on Palm Sunday, April 4, 2004. They were killed by Muqtada al'Sadr's militia, known as the Mahdi Army in an ambush.
Just thought the truth should be known.
Cindy Sheehan's choice of how to show her grief is annoying to many of us, however, it is her grief and her choice. I feel for her and her family for the loss of a son that most of us would have been proud to have known, given the opportunity.

Coiler gets it:
Duffy, it has been proven what a troll you are, by the fake outrage and the so-called Hillary support. Stop it, ok?
And all Cthulhu's desciples say: "Amen"
Duffman, two questions:
A.) How do you explain the dichotomy of your numerous right wing-nut views - most completely unsourced and unsubstantiated, with your support for Hillary?
(Note: For the benefit of all Bla'M Famers, I'll be sure to remind you of them all if you'd like)
B.) Whom did you vote for in 2004 & 2000? I'll proudly say that I voted for Gore & Kerry - your turn
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 12:46 PM
Cindy Sheehan was a useful idiot--but she put the war as an issue on the table for the American people. When Bush wouldn't go out and talk to her it was one of the worst political blunders of his blunder-ridden career. When Katrina came along a couple months later, he found himself in a pickle he'd never get out of. thank you Cindy!

Conservatives and Libertarians believe public services should be privatized, but what then is their solution for caring for crippled people who are unable to earn money and pay for any such service?
Furthermore, if a crippled child is the sole responsibilty of the parents and not society then wouldn't outlawing abortion unfairly impose on the freedom of the parents by obligating them to financialy support child that only exists at the insistance of the law and pro-lifers who make those laws? Should pro-lifers have to pay for the crippled kids they insist are carried to term only to suffer a lifetime?

Great radio on KIRO just now...Dori had on the UW scientist who is studying Mt Kilamonjaro glaciers....Dori threw all the anti-GW memes at him and the guy shot them down one by one. Being the true Neandrethal he is, Dori reiterated that GW is a hoax - after the guy left. Of course he offered nada to back his claim.
Posted by: Mungo | June 13, 2007 at 02:27 PM
That was funny! Monson must have thought the guest would be an global warming oponent when he booked him because he disputed some melting glaciar as evidence, but it actualy turned out that the oposite was true, and this viewpoint was a feature of the scientist's nuance and precision.
So hilariously Some Jackass Named Dori Monson was put in the position of having to tell a well spoken SCIENTIST that he disagrees with his views on global warming. The scientist was plain spoken and sounded like he knew his shit, and the best Monson could retort was some silly blather about having reservations about 'man's involvement'.
From this, it couldn't possibly be made more clear that his opinion on global warming, along with all of his opinions, are based on convenience and not one iota of research. He didn't even research his guest. My guess would be that he hates reading. He often critiques TV shows. I've never heard him critique a book.
Posted by: Andrew | June 13, 2007 at 02:40 PM
Monson was on a rampage of buffoonery today on this topic and his inane assertion that the smoking ban had not hurt businesses because overall business has grown since the law went into effect. What a simpleton.
Posted by: cowpotpi3 | June 13, 2007 at 03:14 PM
merci: you're predictable and boring and I'll end it this way. Not that I need divulge ANYthing to you but I voted Repug once in my life; for Nixon and that was it...all other's were Dems. I plan on voting for Mrs Clinton (or Obama or Gore -even tho I don't care for him). That's the way it is. You can believe it, dis-believe it or STFU (in your parlance).
You, sir are a 'non-event'.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:21 PM
Don't you all get it: Dori Monson is an 'entertainer'; his goal is to create controversy and generate rabid response (one-way-or-the-other). I must say he is VERY successful in that regard.
Do you actuall think he believes and supports all the things he says? Get a clue...he is an actor!!!
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:25 PM
"Cindy Sheehan was a useful idiot--"
I agree somewhat Bla'm; however the damage she did to the Dems may yet to be realized. I hope I am wrong obviously but as Fremont states sometimes 'fat lady probably has not sung yet' on this particular situation.
Did our 'beloved' President make a mistake in not meeting with her: WITHOUT A DOUBT!
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:31 PM
Sorry Duffman..some people on this blog may have trouble reading but I dont..you were too referring to her son, not "commitment by elected officials." At least have the courage of your convictions. If you dont like Cindy, then stick with that..dont try to weasel out by saying you were talking about something else.
Posted by: spark | June 13, 2007 at 04:35 PM
Damage to the Dems? I really think that one is a stretch. She hasn't really been 'newsworthy' for a long time. I don't see how her now defunct protest portends some kind of issue for Democrats. If anything her protest helped Democrats in that it was another voice in the chorus of questioning the Iraq War. The pathetic right wing attacks on her personally showed their motivations are base and disgusting. I think a lot of people were turned off by the attacks she suffered even if she did overstay her welcome by quite a bit.
Posted by: cowpotpi3 | June 13, 2007 at 04:36 PM
Speaking of Daily Kos..did anyone else see the picture of GWB in shorts with the anklets with the Presidential Seal on them, and also wearing "crocks*" on his feet.
Looked like a tourist from Hoboken.
*crocks are rubber clogs with swiss cheese holes in them...

Spark...after having served this Country for three (3) years and losing many friends...if you actually think I would be making reference to 'her son' I feel for you. I think you know better but you like to jump on the Duffman when you see your fellow comrades do it. So, why don't you be big enough to admit that. I enjoy your posts and I think you're wise but I was hoping you'd be more of an 'independent thinker'.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:42 PM
"Damage to the Dems? I really think that one is a stretch.."
I hope so CPP3, I really do...but you know I'm almost seeing those ads now?...with all the footage that the 'Rove-like' wannabees probably shot.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:46 PM
None of those candidates have anything to do with Sheehan...I think you've seen too many Swift Boat ads.
Posted by: cowpotpi3 | June 13, 2007 at 04:50 PM
No CPP3..I've seen the power of 'Rove' and friends; they will stop at nothing for 'power'!
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:51 PM
:)..this blog has suddenly come 'alive' again, don't you think. Aaaah, nothing like stirring up the pot, eh.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 04:53 PM
Yes Sparky, we all need to read for Duffman every now and then. But I think with this comment, Duffy has finally lowered himself below pond scum* :
Let's roll the transcript:
"With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)"
I would never say something like that to someone who has suffered so much.
Next to her son, Cindy has sacrificed more than anyone here for this country, and you just compared her loss to "spilt milk"?
IMHO: Fuck you.
(Note: Not one expletive I've ever used here could be lower than what Duff just said)
* Correction: Pond scum is giving Duff much credit. Let's go with "ratfucking piece of filth".
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 04:57 PM
..like I said merci, you're a non-event and it really bothers you doesn't it...you so seek recognition as an astute contributor...well, forget it pal we've got you pegged!

As soon as he starts to play his nicey-nice polite routine (and he will) - show him back to his "hate-filled bile" reading room.
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:02 PM
Yes or No, Scumfuck:
Did you or did you not just compare Cindy Sheehan's loss to "spilt milk"
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:03 PM
...you do love the cut-and-paste and link routine don't you...life is so exciting. 'NON-EVENT' you will eternally live with that tag; it's indelibly imprinted herein...ha ha Duffman has prevailed yet again...so continue on your 'merciful..life' LOL !!!
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 05:07 PM
...and quit using bad words; that just cements your inadequacies...hahaha
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 05:10 PM
like I said merci, you're a non-event and it really bothers you doesn't it...
No, this is what bothers me:
A.) How this pseudo-polite no-bad-words "nice guy" like you could turn around & say something so wretched about someone who has suffered a loss astronomically larger than anyone here.
B.) How said faker will turn-around tomorrow and pretend he never did something so wretched.
Hell, you already tried to back-away from your filth:
"Sir Andrew: leave it to you to conclude I was referring to her son."
Don't even try it. Your secret is out now Duff. Just stand by your scumfuck status and own it. You know, like a REAL marine
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:10 PM
Again, already starting with the psuedo-polite "naughty words" routine.
Eat this:

...was never a Marine; you GOT IT WRONG yet again!
Listen carefully: I was a GRUNT...a GRUNT is a SOLDIER of the US Army. Gee can you grasp that after all the training I have tried to administer???
A MARINE would be insulted to be misinterpreted with a SOLDIER and vice-versa. OMG this is so hard to explain to someone who just accepts protection but never volunteers to protect!!!
Keep trying tho NON-EVENT one of these days just MAY BE you'll grasp some of this.
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 05:15 PM
Okay Duffman, for your newly sensative eyes and mind:
Yes or No, did you write the following:
"With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)"
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:16 PM
Is there a contest somewhere for cut&paste & link artists...like American Idol...may be American Idiot...yeah that's it...merci for A.I. - wouldn't America love to see a competition of CP&L artists...GOoooooooo merci!!!
Posted by: Duffman | June 13, 2007 at 05:18 PM
"was never a Marine; you GOT IT WRONG yet again!
Listen carefully: I was a GRUNT...a GRUNT is a SOLDIER of the US Army."
oooooooooh NO! Yikes Duffy, I'm terribly sorry that I gave you TOO MUCH credit.
Now answer the question, GRUNT
Note to Bla'M fam: Duffy is getting frantic (again). Stuck in BS of his own making (again).
Thus all the frantic subject changing, and inability do deal with his own hate-filled bile:
"With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)"
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:22 PM
Stuck in one's own BS, frantic subject change, Smoke n' Mirrors
exhibit A: complain when someone gives you too much credit
exhibit B: pretend it's one-big cut-n-paste contest.
Now cut-through the exhibits, and you have Duffman's real Christ-filled character:
"With all doe respect ma'am you need to do as merci offen suggests STFU...(and quit crying over spilt milk. .. ;)"
Posted by: mercifurious | June 13, 2007 at 05:25 PM
..adrenalin flowing there merc? ha ha!
Answer: CAN'T YOU READ?????
"Sir Andrew: leave it to you to conclude I was referring to her son. Let me say I'm sorry for her loss and I feel her pain (having lost someone dear recently also) - no I was of course referring to the committment that has been made by our elected officials for our military in Iraq."

it's always 'note to Blam'Fam' as if insecure 'bout whether or not any one's paying attention...you are one sorry NON-EVENT my man...but fun to have around :)
..now go back to CP&L practice !!
