Although flaccid, KVI is a tool all right- of the Republican Party. This from the KVI newsletter The Insider:
Join AM 570 KVI for the Lincoln Day Dinner!! Chairman Michael Young and The King County Republican Party request the honor of your presence at The 2007 Lincoln Day Dinner hosted by AM 570 KVI's John Carlson with Special Guest, Presidential Advisor Karl Rove. The dinner will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the Hilton Seattle Airport.
(Rove reportedly won't make the dangerous trip on the road between the airport and the GOP Green Zone in Bellevue. It's known as the deadliest highway in the world for Republicans).
If you're one of the washed KVI masses, a skinny cat- you can hunker down with the rubber chicken in the $100 cheap seats.
Corpulent felines, on the other hand, can kiss the Turdblossom's ring, and pose for a picture with him at a $250 vertical pre-function with drinks.
If you're the really rich, deluded and want to make an impression,
plunk down $2500 for a table of 10, and you'll get 2 couples into the reception
and you can talk directly to Rove at pre-pre-function "roundtable"
discussion with fewer than 20 people.
(Knowing Republicans, there won't be any confrontations, demands for accountability or anyone yelling, "What the fuck have you done to our party?!" at this stiff little circle jerk).
It's amazing that Rove can raise money with personal appearances in the boonies despite the cloud over him- and actually it remains to be seen. If he still can, it shows how out of touch and stultified is the GOP these days. If they had any self respect or integrity, they'd be using a 10-foot pole to measure their solidarity with such a sleaze-bag.
His alleged genius produced less than bupkus in the 2006 elections; more of his fingerprints are revealed every day by a congress showing unethical White House politicization of nearly every aspect of government decision-making.
And that's not to speak of his mean-spirited arrogance, singeing over-reaches, and embarrassing attempts at hip-hop.
While we put together our BlatherWatch Lincoln Day table, we're pondering KVI's role in this: is the station sponsoring this funder? Does the GOP pay anything for the promotion?
There's probably nothing illegal about this- but let us never misunderestimate the level at which the GOP operates in the right-wing media. The line between media and party are blurred here- and they have been for a long time.
"When karl rove kneads the dough- KVI provides the yeast"
Is it really KVI or is it really just John Carlson on his own?

IMHO the only guest appearance that Mr Rove s/be making is in front of a Congressional hearing, under oath!
Posted by: Duffman | April 04, 2007 at 06:01 AM
Tom Delay is on with Kirby right now, telling how he went to his knees for Jesus 18 years ago, and how it turned him into a Godly man. What a frigging joke.

"..GOP Green Zone in Bellevue"
Aptly described; spot on Bla'M !
Posted by: Duffman | April 04, 2007 at 07:21 AM
You "stated your case" well, Michael. But, I still question not only the integrity of the GOP but their intellect as well. Sorry.
Posted by: joanie | April 04, 2007 at 08:00 AM
Wouldnt a Blam Fam table be a hoot? We could shake his hand and look him in the eye and ask him when he is going to be a man and talk to Congress under oath. Of course, we would be immediately frog marched out of the hall, but it just might be worth it.
Posted by: sparky | April 04, 2007 at 08:07 AM
Hahahaha...that w/be a RIOT! [Literally]
Posted by: Duffman | April 04, 2007 at 08:24 AM
Rove was heckled last night and had rocks thrown at his car,HERE we are working on improving their aim next time.
Posted by: coiler | April 04, 2007 at 09:39 AM
Form Coilers link,
Goodman, an AU junior, said he and others wanted to make a "citizens arrest" of the presidential adviser.
"Citizens arrest, Citizens arrest"
LOL
Posted by: Steve | April 04, 2007 at 09:45 AM
Peasant, I'm sure they would treat you kindly there, no "frog marching" unless of course you are packing a "snuke up your snizz".
Posted by: Steve | April 04, 2007 at 09:53 AM
I think they should of just kept throwing rocks and other heavy objects, sounds like fun!
Posted by: coiler | April 04, 2007 at 09:58 AM
"..other heavy objects.."
Yeah, like SUPOENAS!!
Posted by: Duffman | April 04, 2007 at 10:08 AM

I'm sure dip shit Carlson will have fun jacking off that fat fuck.
Posted by: John | April 04, 2007 at 12:00 PM
Wow..what a coup Michael..the acompanying photo shows him giving the super secret 570 KVI Chickenhawk salute. Bravo.
Posted by: Pilgrim | April 04, 2007 at 12:16 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if he canceled...after that 'warm' reception he got last nite at American University. Carlson would then have to do his usual schtick!
Posted by: Duffman | April 04, 2007 at 12:31 PM
Is it true to make Rove appear, Michael Young must first sacrifice and drink the blood of an innocent while the rest of the King County Republicans dance around him naked? Or has another way of making him appear been discovered.
Posted by: JDB | April 04, 2007 at 04:47 PM
"while the rest of the King County Republicans dance around him naked"
Conjured up a horrible image!!!

From Reuters:
Four things Bush doesn't want you to know about Nancy Pelosi's Syria visit:
1. The Israelis are GLAD she’s there.
2. Far from her trying to hurt Israel or the US (as Bush implies), The Israelis think so much of her that they are using her as a trusted go-between from Israel to Syria.
3. There are three Republican Congressmen in Syria meeting with Assad right now.
4. The three Republican Congressmen, including Joe Pitts (R-PA) are in Syria with his OK.

Confirmed by a friend at AU re: students thowing food at Karl Rove...
"The students didn't throw anything. The Washington Post got that part wrong. But, they did heckle him. About 20 students planted themselves on the path in front of Rove's vehicle. No one was arrested but officers did use force to remove students. Karl Rove is much more thin-skinned than he lets on. It's quite possible he was personally offended by the protests, and helped shape the bogus media counterspin. "

Sparky, Mike Malloy was saying that he heard (no source at all) that she may have been instrumental in the release of the Brits. But,we all know how the rumor mill goes . . .
Hope you're having fun!
BTW, on yahoo there's a video of the skuffle over Rove at AU.

Yes, back from the always awesome PortOR. I'd say relaxed, but PDX festivities tend to cause overconsumption.
My online abilities have been hindered as of late - CPU went tits-up.
Back on subject, perhaps we should use this Tuesday's LinkDribble for a Rove strategy session. Savvy?

Ha, not really. You know Sparky I've always detected a sense of compassion in you. I think (if indeed you are a school teacher) the school system is lucky to have you. [Are you in an E/Side district]
Posted by: Duffman | April 05, 2007 at 02:03 PM
Just read (on Yahoo News) that Dem's have agreed to six (6) debates in '07, one-a-month starting in July. Locations, media agreements and participants still to be determined. This is gonna get good!
Posted by: Duffman | April 05, 2007 at 02:29 PM

Looks like Rove is saluting this blog and Horsesass.org and the liberal opposition. With that said, I don't care for Rove - he has fed too many ideas into Bush's simple mind, which has enhanced his wrong-headedness about many things and also f'd up the Republican Party.
