right-wing blogs we like
The Reagan Wing Hearin lies the real heart of Washington State Republicans. Doug Parris runs this red-meat social conservative group site which bars no holds when it comes to saying who they are and who they're not; what they believe and what they don't; who their friends are and where the rest of the Republicans can go. Well-written, and flaming.
Orbusmax inexhaustible Drudgery of NW conservative news
The Radio Equalizer prolific former Seattle KVI, KIRO talk host speaks authoritatively about radio.
She finally got her big break, bursting out of the gold-lined confines of TV and has landed a job... in public radio!
She's Alison Stewart, 40; most recently host of the MSNBC's weekdaily, The Most. Named Friday, by NPR, she's join Luke Burbank as co-host of a 2-hour NPR morning drivetime news show targeting adults 25-44.
It's to air in September; part of a 24-hour news service that will be offered to public radio stations, satellite radio and online.
Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA) will join Goldy on Sunday at 7p on“The David Goldstein Show” (KIRO Saturdays, Sundays 7-10p).
They'll discuss Inslee's new legislation they hope will "prevent the demise of Internet radio."
(As long as no one more tech savvy than Dave Reichert represents the tech-heavy 8th District, the innovative and energetic Inslee is our best hope to stand up to the challenges to new media).
Alerted by loyal reader Trac, we've been drawn back by the Siren song of the reprehensible Rachel Marsden, the convicted stalker; Fox News right-wing up-and-comer, and known liar.
Note Marsden's Web site flashpage on the left (or click here).
Is that our Rachel lounging on the fainting couch all legs, anklestraps, cleavage and teeth?
Hell no: it's Julia Roberts, who has talent and really is a celebrity.
Marsden went here or here, downloaded the look-a-like pic of Julia, and pasted her onto her own front page.
The state Supreme Court unanimous agreed with KVI talk hosts John Carlson and Kirby Wilbur that they needn't report their on-air campaign organizing as an in-kind political contribution.
They lost the election, but won "special rights" to skirt fair election laws in their 2005 campaign for the anti-gas tax initiative, I-912.
(The First Amendment is our grits and gravy around here, and we'd venture to say that our view of it is a hell of a lot broader than these born-again First Amendment enthusiasts crowing today over this decision).
In a brilliant Vanity Fair piece, James Wolcott has excised the
festering carbuncle of the morning, Rush Limbaugh and reminded us of his
single-handed, decades-long campaign to harm the environment, and hurt
America.
Limbaugh, in a "multi-decade reign of denigration," spouted the
language that has shaped so many everyday people's views on
environmentalists and environmentalism.
Mt. Rushbo was busy denying global warming when most conservatives were
still running around in bed sheets demonstrating against affirmative
action.
He added the term "environmental wacko" to the lingua vulgaris, and has
been mocking the right to life of endangered species since before the
spotted owl was pardoned.
Wow. In an incredible boot-up for liberal talk radio, The Stephanie Miller Show has been named to try out for the vacant, early morning, Imus simulcast spot on MSNBC.
It's "temporary," we're assured by our spy out at MSNBC Redmond, and no done deal. But we've learned that Miller is the top contender, and the one for whom the network has the greatest hopes.
"They decided it was time for a woman in that slot," he told BlatherWatch.
It's been a fierce firefight between some of the most hardball agents in the country. Other competitors: Michael Smercomish, Ed Shultz, Neal Boortz, Randi Rhodes, Rachel Maddow, and Laura Ingraham.
~ Using one sheet of toilet paper ain't that hard if you use both sides(as anyone knows who was raised by Depression-era parents).
Sheryl Crow's helpful, green, butt-wiping advice was, of course, tongue-in-cheek (gawd, there's a vile visual) as you'd know if you bothered to read her original proposal at Huffington. Didn't stop talk radio from running with it, though- obviously not enough in the news more important his week than trying to make Sheryl Crow look silly- proves global warming is a scam, dunnit?
We first noticed Rachel Marsden, the hot-looking, sharp-tongued, honey-toed, glossy-lipped conserva-babe on the O'Reilly Factor.
Couldn't help it. Captioned, "Canadian correspondent," she was first remarkable because she was not a blonde as are most of the clucking Fox right-wing harpies; but her cleavage and clingy little dresses suggested an emphasis on the social part of "social conservative."
The administration and their right-wing mouthpieces like Hannity, Laura Ingraham, and Mr. Happy himself, Billo Reilly are always complaining that the media reports only the bad news about Iraq.
Even Laura Bush told Larry King, "Many parts of Iraq are stable now. But, uh, of course, what we see on television is the one bombing a day that discourages everyone."
Dang.
But Putie-poot recently gave the Bushies a template for how government can stop the discouragement, and spread the happy news.

KVI am 570 KHz Visit the burnt-out husk of one of the seminal right-wing talkers in all the land. Here's where once trilled the reactionary tones of Rush Limbaugh, John Carlson, Kirby Wilbur, Mike Siegel, Peter Weissbach, Floyd Brown, Dinky Donkey, and Bryan Suits.
Now it's Top 40 hits from the '60's & '70's aimed at that diminishing crowd who still remembers them and can still hear.
KTTH am 770 KHz Right wing home of local, and a whole bunch of syndicated righties such as Glennn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Medved, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Lars Larsony, and for an hour a day: live & local David Boze.
