"Now I'm in the majority it would be wise to keep my mouth shut and actually plan how I'm going to do what's right and how to defend myself when we put something out there,"

However, the RCA dog is waiting for the beer to pour out. Dogs like beer, ya know?

"I'm tired of extreme scenarios."
Again Joanie, you keep taking it to the extreme.

True to form, Steve. The answer of a man who has no answer . . . just as none of you black-and-white thinking dim bulbs do.

Joanie, you in a sense right, there are varying degrees of Socialism. And it is my belief that none of them are good. I believe in the individual, not the collective. When one gives the power to someone else over their lives, they are in fact being shackled. Yes I have an inherent distrust for governments and bureaucrats. I know that the only one whom has my best interest in mind is me.
As for Hurricane Katrina, I have some first hand experience. You see my family all live on the East Coast. My mother lives on Willoughby Spit, a piece of sand that juts out into the Chesapeake Bay. When Hurricane Isabel hit, it wipe out most her belongings. Did she cry, yes, but she also had Flood insurance, which does cost more. Now how could those mean insurance companies make flood insurance expensive? I don’t know, maybe because she decided to live on the beach, in the middle of hurricane alley? Did the insurance companies pay up, why yes they did. What is the point? Personal responsibility, plain and simple.
I don’t want the Government, or you, or Steve, or anyone else to take care of me. I’ll do it myself, and if I fail I have no one blame but myself. Independence, Freedom, and Personal Responsibility, yeah those are good. Some bureaucrat in Olympia or DC making decisions on how I live my life………BAD.

"Ex-Aide Says He’s Lost Faith in Bush"
"Mr. Dowd, a crucial part of a team that cast Senator John Kerry as a flip-flopper who could not be trusted with national security during wartime, said he had even written but never submitted an op-ed article titled “Kerry Was Right,” arguing that Mr. Kerry, a Massachusetts Democrat and 2004 presidential candidate, was correct in calling last year for a withdrawal from Iraq."
Well, once your kid is on his way to Iraq, things look a little different, don't they, Matthew Dowd? Typical Publican!

Lest anyone doubt the cover up and distortion of
global warming (climate change) by the current administration
- read today's piece by Thomas L. Friedman entitled
Global warming 'unequivocal' Focus (Section D) of the
Seattle Times.

And here I thought after reading so many times here on the BW that only the poor and disadvantaged joined the services.

Hey Steve
I think today would be the appropriate time to admit that for the past year you have been posting under the nom de plume of Ph(J)oanie in an effort to illustrate the absurdity of the McDermott voter.
It took me awhile to catch on to what you were doing but over the past few days I have become convinced that no one would actually be that whacked and still able to operate a motor vehicle.
Great job Steve.

"If there had been no wind, would there have been a flood?"
Which came first Joanie, the chicken or the egg?
What needs to be answered is what caused the damage to the homes, not the levees.

...or I could be wrong and Ph(J)oanine is in dire need of some new meds.

Puts, I work as a door greeter for Walmart, how can I be so clever to pull off something like that with all these college grads here.

A Walmart door greeter vs two -Ph(J)oanie/Snarky of Seattles 'finest' public school teachers.

Door greeter? Did you work as Sam Walton's personal fluffer, too?

What does any of this have to do with talk radio?

Someone named Gerri posted earlier today on the Alexie thread saying "R.I.P. Duf" and that "Duf" had been killed in a freak accident on Friday. I assumed she meant Duffman. I checked, and Duffman's posts all stopped at 1 p.m. friday. This has me rather upset. Could this Gerri person possibly be a sick prankster? Wouldn't contacting Michael be more appropriate so he could announce it to the B'lam family?

T8: Thanks for the concern; I must explain. Been out of town for the week-end and we run a floral business here and I have some 'partners' who are practical jokers. Ger, (one of them) pulled what he thought was a hilarous Apr 01 joke...had a great laugh at my expense. [All my partners here are conservatives, by the way]...sick jokers at times.

Me too,
Glad u r ok, even if you want to drain my wallet for national health care. Your partners seem like great people.
Best Regards
Chuck

I would rather drain your wallet for something worthwhile
than for supporting an unjustified war and the national
death plan for a country (Iraq) that we can't even prop up!
