chucks

cpp3
No, I have had the article for a couple of months now thanks to my daughter and her fax machine. Kind of like the cow fart angle though. In the last 110 years or so, there have been many articles and theories on climate change, up or down. Many scientist on both sides arguing their various hypothesis's.
During the seventy's I, like many others was afraid of the coming ice age with billions of people starving.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.........
I am just not jumping on any more "band wagons". Again, I will continue to reduce my power usage, recycle my recyclable stuff etc.
I will drive the rice burner piece of crap during the week. But until science gets its shit together, The Seattle, New York and Los Angeles Times are not gonna make me give up the Rolls or old Cougar convertible on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Fremont

Oh mommy, oh mommy, oh what shall we do?
Elizabeth has it, now Tony does, too.
And Duffman makes rhymes In these critical times
and calls us all names a la Novak and Plame.
Oh mommy, oh mommy, please take him away
Til he learns to cite sources and knows how to play.

Duffman

Minions are reacting in kind...how cool is that...they actually know who they are..Ha ha ha...too funny!

...an so easily led

Duffman

"Til he learns to cite sources and knows how to play."

Me thinks I'm 'learning' how to play.

cowpotpi3

Chucks, that is when he went on Letterman, a few months back. Now please tell me you're not in here bandying that thing about because it is one of the only pieces of "evidence" that backs up your feelings? Look, I suppose I could go out there and find a discredited article (like this one) that backs up some whacky point of view but this is nowhere near scientific consensus or even a rational idea.

Tommy008

Bush to Pelosi - "AH'M O VETO!" (the "bumpkin at the country fair" fake Texas accent is BACK!) Pelosi to Bush- "Calm down with the threats. There's a new Congress in town."

Duffman

""AH'M O VETO!""

Good! I saw/heard him say that instantaneously in my mind when I read that....ha

sparky

Yes, Duffy, you are doing quite well. You have even joined Puts in telling us all what we "really think" and what we "really mean." I have to admit, I dont quite understand the Jekyl and Hyde thing you have going on, though, unless its meds or something.

Duffman

Tell you what Snarky: you tell me if you're a 'minion' and I'll tell you if (& what kind) of meds I might be on. Deal?

Pugetsound

Freemont:
Putz: I WILL ADMIT I AM NOT A MINION IF YOU WILL ADMIT YOU ARE NOT AN ATTORNEY. Deal?.

Deal or No Deal.
Hey I've stated this three times: I am not an attorney.
I have not claimed to be an attorney.
I do have a jd. Its the most flexable upper level degree around.
Fremont, the only reason that it even came up was someone was asking a question many moons ago about Constitutional Law and I said words to the effect that while it had been a long time since I had graduated law school I recalled one of my Con Law Prof's stating X on the subject.
Also, I am not a conservative. But I am not a fan of Olberman other than to laugh at his 'style' and the fact that people follow it in ditto head fashion.

Pugetsound

"Yes, Duffy, you are doing quite well. You have even joined Puts in telling us all what we "really think" and what we "really mean." I have to admit, I dont quite understand the Jekyl and Hyde thing you have going on, though, unless its meds or something"

All I do is give your words their plain meaning by reposting them in full context. You just don't like how they read in the daylight. Kind of a cockroach running to the corner deal when the lights come on would be the proper analogy.

joanie

Hey, Pilgrim . . . is there a big difference?

"Global warming actually isn't an imminent threat, according to Oregon's state climatologist George Taylor."

Guess some people don't think so. Could you be wrong?

Picky, picky . . .

sparky

New Rule, joanie...whatever PutS says is right. Whatever PutS says is the truth.

No more analysis or argument.

PutS is ALWAYS right..so git that through your head!

joanie

Hey, Pilgrim, and all you drones that can't do research (like putsie and carbon offset - still working on that, are ya?):

"George H. Taylor is the State Climatologist for Oregon, and a faculty member at Oregon State University's College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences. He manages the Oregon Climate Service, the state repository of weather and climate information, and supervises a staff of ten."

Well, all you geniuses, argue with Mr. Climatologist himself. See how far you get.

Duffman

Yeah, joanie - even I got the memo in that regard. Merci (mommie minion) is always right and I will copy Sparky in that regard by responding with All Right!
[Quite frankly I can't think of an instance/post where Puts was wrong, can you...except in who he possibly politically supports?]

joanie

The only reason Olberman's ratings have gone up a little are riding on the coattails of negative opinion of the War in Iraq.

Cite your source for that, Klueless. Or is it another "gut instinct" those in your group seems to favor?

Duffman

I'm at OSU all the time...and let me tell you a more Liberal university you could hardly find.

joanie

Duff, how can you get anything wrong when you don't say anything? He's kinda like you in that regard which is why you like him . . .

Have you ever known anyone else to lose sleep trying to think of stupid names for people? That's his only claim to fame, Duff. Honestly, you add more integrity to the conversation that he does. You disappoint me.

joanie

Think about it, Duff. Is there any other poster (besides Steve) that stalks Sparky and me like putsie does? See for yourself. I love that he's obsessed with me. . . you're a woman, don't you like being courted? Like little boys on the playground, he wants our attention so bad he'll do anything to get it.

I see it every recess. It is so charming.

joanie

Duffenais,

Find a dictionary and look up "discriminate" - you aren't even close.

Pilgrim, Duff doesn't believe in dictionaries or libraries. (S)he wants to go to the source . . . where should we steer her? Dictionaries can be wrong . . . hahahaha.

Duffman

'disappoint you'??? Excuse me...YOU who I thought would certainly NOT be a minion...admitting to it..I was flabbergasted(sp?). I really thought you to be the ultimate free and independent thinker (yes, along progressive lines but still independent...) You are a 'teacher' for God's sakes...of ANY one...'teachers' should not be minions. Please say you were kidding?

joanie

KS: everyone agrees on global warming

Gee, Klueless, you didn't used to. When did you get so smart?

joanie

Hey, Duff, you're the one who grabbed the word and applied it. If you don't want me to be a minion, then don't call me one.

I have no control over your thought process . . . wish I did, I sure try to change it.

joanie

chucks, if people got it wrong once, does that mean they get it wrong every time? What's the matte with you? That kind of analysis belongs up your anal region.

Duffenais

..but joanie my dear, when I implied that I was surprised you were 'minion' yesterday...you replied in essence that 'well so much for your 'gut feel' eh Duff'
Do you deny that...I can recall that if you wish.

joanie

, I just want to see more proof.

Then, Duff, read some books.

You're right, Sparky. He' s "always right." Nah! Little boys are often wrong . . . we'll continue to catch him. Besides, are you interested in his brain? I'm not. Been there. . . done that. Empty space. Sorry.

Also, the whole board notices he only talks when he can get your or my attention.

You've got a rep, putsie. It's okay with me. I like being pursued. . . very charming, indeed.

Duffman

"Pilgrim, Duff doesn't believe in dictionaries or libraries. (S)he wants to go to the source . . . where should we steer her? Dictionaries can be wrong . . . hahahaha."

So, why did Pilgrim have to 'assume' I was an 'old woman'; why couldn't I've been a 'old man'? I think I was right in pointing out this apparent predujice?

joanie

Use your remarkable powers of analysis, Duff, those that emanate from your gut . . . Good Lord, woman, doesn't it work anymore?

joanie

Because, Duff, you like to appear confused so we humor you. A man can be "an old woman" and you can be whatever you are . . . because, personally, I don't care.

sparky

no joanie, I am not interested. This place gets to be more like lunch recess every day.

FREMONT

I assumed Duf was a man because of the predicate of (its) surname...my bad!

Truly sorry you couldn't ever pass the Bar, Putz...not even in the Marianas?

sparky

Let me rephrase that...Sometimes it is like lunch recess in here. Not always. Sometimes there are some interesting discussions and I learn a lot from Bla'M about the inner workings of radio. I like that.
But other times, its like the worst days of KIRO chat, which was eventually shut down because of the people from the short bus.

Duffman

"no joanie, I am not interested. This place gets to be more like lunch recess every day."
Sparky:
Deal or no deal? are you a minion?

coiler

The Bionic Redneck is on Cspan right now addressing the radio-tv assn.

Duffman

"Let me rephrase that...Sometimes it is like lunch recess in here. Not always. Sometimes there are some interesting discussions and I learn a lot from Bla'M about the inner workings of radio. I like that.

Covering your a** is a good minion trait...very nice Snarky.

Duffman

" people from the short bus."
That's 'harsh' Sparky...I had a relative on the 'short bus' and he died just before age 13...your reference is not appreciated.

joanie

Oh, duffy dear . . . of course I'm a minion. Doesn't putsie idolize me? Haven't you noticed? I seem to be his darling on the board . . . I've noticed. :) mmmmm keep it up, putsie. Very flattering.

BTW, Duff, have you even been anyone's darling?

Duffman

"BTW, Duff, have you even been anyone's darling?"
That's not funny joanie...I have several partners here that tease me about that constantly and because they are 'conservative' I always get the brunt of it.
I would not reveal that to you herein but I wouldn't discount if you really wanted to know?

Duffman

...sorry that s/have been 'disclose'...

joanie

Hey, you're the one who asked . . .

coiler

Did he use the dial a ride? Just wondering.

Duffman

"Did he use the dial a ride? Just wondering."
I hope that wasn't meant for me 'coiler'...this was a very sad loss for our whole family...and I hope to hell you're not making light of it?

sparky

Bla'M..did you see on LiberalTalkRadio that Marc Maron has severed all ties with Air America? He's mad at 'em.
Also there is a great, but long, article on internet radio and the fuss the copyright people are making about royalties...

Duffman

Yeah, I'd change the subject too if I were you Snarky! Not cool..very hurtful...not becoming of a loyal minion.

coiler

If you're going to use vulgar languge, then I don't see the point continuing on, old man.

joanie

Geez, Sparky, commercial everything will do anything they can to destroy this medium. Disgusting.

joanie

Hey, duff, go back out and rock some more. Take your knitting with you.

Oh, by the way, her name is Sparky - with a p. Unless of course, you are indentured to putsie . . . are you?

Duffman

coiler:
Good choice..you'd best not 'continue on' [& relatively speaking...there was no vulgar language...but language with impact and conviction] I don't use 'vulgar' language...or hadn't you noticed?

Duffman

Noooo, we all know who's indentured here...btw, where's 'mommie' lemming tonite..has he just given you talking points and left you all on your own?....Oh no...how will you fare?...gather round and you can all start marching...the sea is onward....careful of the cliff, tho..OOooooooops!
