The David Goldstein Show (KIRO, Saturdays, Sundays; 7-10p) has become must-see radio for political junkies. His guests are thrilling the KIRO news team accustomed to slow weekend news days. Goldy's show is scoring real news quotes from real newsmakers making real news.
Tonight's show should be exceptional.
7p. Darcy Burner makes her first media appearance after announcing Sat. that she's filed with the FEC to challenge Dave Reichert in the 8th District next year. As Dan Kirkdorffer points out at On the Road to 2008 Reichert's support of the troop surge in Iraq, has inspired Burner to challenge the Republican Party hardy again. As Sheriff Hairspray kicked off his conversation with CNN's Lou Dobb's recently: "Well -- well, you know, I was the sheriff in Seattle before I became a member of Congress and was in law enforcement 33 years." Yeah Dave, we knew that...
8p: Our powerful Senator Patty Murray will talk to Goldy about Walter Reed Hospital and the shameful neglect of Iraqi war veterans. She has a fierce record of defending veterans and veterans' facilities that long predates this scandal and this latest example of the administration's phony-baloney "support of the troops."
Also at 8p: Joel Connelly, Seattle P-I's beloved pundit and intyersection of Gore Vidal and Major Hoople. Expect pungent, multi-syllabic verbosity in commentary on the preceding guests, and other issues of the day.
Actually, both Sen. Murray and Joel Connelly are in the 8PM hour.

Goldy..can you sneak in a question to Patty Murray about what she thinks of Haliburton moving its headquarters to Dubai?
Posted by: sparky | March 11, 2007 at 02:20 PM
Yes, I'd be really interested about some in-depth analysis of this!

Unfortunately I will be unable to listen in; Sparky w/you kindly let me know what is said about this subject. I'd appreciate it.

Who made street medics illegal
Posted by: Steve | March 11, 2007 at 10:03 PM
Wow
Note to self: when the cops tell you to disburse or your going to get tear gassed. Disperse.
I can attest that if you get a good whiff of tear gas it can really do a number on you in terms of shutting down your system and making you want to throw up.

Don't disburse, congregate
Posted by: Steve | March 11, 2007 at 10:07 PM
Joanie, Peasant, you can be part of it also on the 17th of March. Come one, come all, and lets see if we can get more participation here than they did at the St. Patricks Day Run in Seattle today.

Now there's someone who can tell his great grandchildren he got shot in the head and survived.
Posted by: Steve | March 11, 2007 at 10:18 PM
If Goldy was talking about this he would have better ratings.
Posted by: Steve | March 11, 2007 at 10:19 PM
Goldy, when Senator Murray comes back on your show ask her if that guy who got shot in the head with a rubber bullet can qualify for veterans benefits.

Sparky; do you know if this question ever got asked/answered?
Posted by: Duffman | March 13, 2007 at 12:30 PM
Steve
That is a cool video. Thanks for the link. Of course Tacoma is a Military town and we are very proud of our police and how they handled those nutjobs. They can go back to Olympia or Seattle where they belong and let our military do their job. This comes from a guy who was the same kind of nutjob thirty five years ago when we got handled by LAPD, LA County Sheriffs and the CHP.
You see, I was stupid once and grew out of it. So will most of these kids.
