I use to know a vegetarian who hunted. We always joked, 'he really hated meat'...:) But he did give the carcass to us carnivores.

Steve

Puts, can you tell me what security issues as former VP he requires and does he pay for it or the Government.

joanie

Puts, another example of your inefficient reasoning:

of course, going green and efficient use is a start. If everybody did it, great gains would be made. It is actually a stupid comment to say that being more efficient isn't helping. That would never pass in law school or any where else for that matter.

Windmills? They work where there is wind?

Solar panels? They work where there is sun. And they are seldom the only source for energy because few places can rely on sun year round.

Does he use solar energy? Do you know? Before you make assumptions about his use of energy, I hope you know the answers to these questions.

Here you are, trying to sound smart again when you don't know what you are talking about. At least I ask some questions first. Why is it so important to you to be smart? to sound smart?

If you knew what you were talking about, I wouldn't be able to poke holes in your posts so easily. This isn't the first time and I'm not the only one. You would impress more if you didn't try to sound like a know-it-all. God help Steve that he looks to you for wisdom.

joanie

I actually am trying to figure out your reasoning here . . .

a vegetarian who eats meat would, I think, be hypocritical. Further, I would say that person was not a vegetarian.

Someone who espouses living green and using energy that leaves a smaller footprint on the planet is a hypocrite unless they leave no footprint. So, for you, it is an either/or scenario.

If they use any energy at all that isn't planet friendly or climate friendly or whatever you call it, they are being hypocrites if they try to encourage everybody to leave a smaller footprint.

I'm using these words because I don't read all the stuff thrown out by the left and the right in gotcha journalism. So, I don't know the whole Gore story.

To summarize, he is a hypocrite because is isn't energy independent and totally green. Is that right?

Even though he uses to the best of his ability climate-friendly resources, if he isn't totally climate friendly, he's a hypocrite. Right?

Is that really what you are saying? Cutting back and trying isn't good enough. It is all or nothing . . . ?

joanie

Puts: I can be all wet on the issue, but the whole Carbon Offset deal seems wrong. But I need to research it more.
. . . But the concept of Carbon Offset seems phony . . .

hahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahah

That's your best yet, puts. When you do your "research" on carbon offset, be sure and let Al know what you find out.

hahahahahahaha thanks for the laugh

Steve

Joanie getting confused again Puts. I need to go to work and give something back to society. I'll tackle Joanies questions which I beleive were meant for me when I get home.

Steve
"Puts, can you tell me what security issues as former VP he requires and does he pay for it or the Government."

I just give him a pass to some extent since -even though he is no longer in the govt- he is a symbol of America as a former VP. A lot of whack jobs out there that would go after him just for that.
My understanding is that the Secret Service detail is provided by the US Gov't. I think we started to provide the Secret Service post service when Truman (my favorite prez) left office.

Joanie
you wrote: "a vegetarian who eats meat would, I think, be hypocritical. Further, I would say that person was not a vegetarian."

I actually wrote: "Steve

I didn't say he ate meat. I said he hunted and gave the carcass to others.

FREMONT

Putz, you are NOT an attorney!

joanie

Obvious, isn't it, Fremont.

Notice you are ignoring the hypocrite questions, putz. Guess you don't have an answer?

No, Steve, they weren't meant for you. You are too easily taken in.

Putz went around in circles with cowpot before giving in. But, he never argued his ground . . .so I'm still curious how he claims Gore is a hypocrite . . .

Perhaps he is unable to prove it. Guess we'll never know.

Also, I didn't know vegetarians were required to abhor hunting. I thought they were supposed to refrain from eating meat.

Or would that be starting another circular discussion?

You take a lot of detours when you try to converse, putz.

Please, let us all know what your research says about carbon trading. I'm sure you'll shed just as much light on that subject as your have on Gore and hypocrisy.

Bet you're waiting on pins and needles to be tutored, Steven. Good luck.

Pugetsound

Freemont
"Putz, you are NOT an attorney!"

yep, never claimed to be.

Steve

No Joanie, having a good laugh at your expense. Again I thought I was the one with a reading problem but you are catching up really quick like. Maybe you are thinking about spring break or something but you better wake up cause you are looking like a fool.

Pugetsound

Steve
Actually I think someone is posting under her name to make her look stupid. Either that or she hasn't been taking her meds.

Steve

Puts you were half right

1951: "Congress enacted legislation that permanently authorized Secret Service protection of the president, his immediate family, the president-elect, and the vice president, if he wishes. (Public Law - 82-79)."

Unless Bush signed an executive order requiring protection, former VP's do not rate protection from the Secret Service.

coiler

Cheney will have to move somewhere else after 08 it seems...
