KIRO, KTTH Program Director Tom Clendening has left the building with a cardboard box.
Bonneville Communications takes over next week. "Major programming changes are anticipated."
Stay tuned.

I guess it's too soon to know if they will flip the format?

Voodoo, Joanie?

oh oh...watch out Dori!!
Posted by: sparky | February 23, 2007 at 07:31 PM
Liz, if voodoo would vanquish 710DORI and frankie, might be worth a try . . . :)
Posted by: joanie | February 23, 2007 at 08:23 PM
Sadly they'll probably keep Dori if he gets good ratings though....

Perhaps more news in the afternoon?

I want to give Joannie Ron & Don's time slot.
Well, she can't be anymore mindnumbing.
Ron & Don are kind of like dragging your fingernail across a blackboard.
Except that it's driven you deaf.
But even so, just the thought makes your muscles cringe.
Sometimes they are so bad that you can't turn the dial. Kind of like camp comedy.
My Mother The Car
Sherrif Tex
Michael Savage
Casey Treat
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The list goes on and on..........
I shall give Joannie an air horn so she can blast the ears of obnoxious callers. Or just for the fun of it.

Still waiting for that list of rad 70s music Ryder . . .
good night :)

STYBLE LOOK OUT!
Posted by: Toucans | February 23, 2007 at 11:19 PM
Wow!
The possibilities are endless... Ron Reagan from 12-4? (maybe this is what he means when he says "we're working on it" when people complain about the one hour slot?
Dori to the overnight? THAT would be just dandy!
Hey, has anyone else noted that Shiers starts his hour by saying "the other guys are satellite feeds or RERUNS OF MORNING SHOWS...but kiro is different."? And then he proceeds to promo the Dave Ross RERUN!
buh-bye Frank!
Posted by: bamajenk | February 23, 2007 at 11:33 PM
I usually only listen at night. I can tolerate Shiers, but would wish him replaced with someone less arrogant.
I cannot tolerate NY Vinnie (who by the way, last night was interviewing "rollerball" girls).
I say keep Styble (flame away).

Michael Savage has the third 3rd highest rated show in America. Why would anybody think Bonneville is gonna get rid of him? That would be like the Mariners getting rid of Ichiro.

"Why would anybody think Bonneville is gonna get rid of him? That would be like the Mariners getting rid of Ichiro."
careful, with the M's we saw Johnson, Griffey, and A-Rod go. :)

Liz..why do you like The Sty? Not flaming you, just asking...
Posted by: sparky | February 24, 2007 at 08:32 AM
Thanks for your flameless question, Sparky.
I appreciate what I perceive as Styble's genuine respect for his callers. I agree that at times he does tend to "over-debate" however, there is a common man "genuine-ness" that arrogant asses like Shiers lack.
I am fascinated by Styble's knowledge base, and his passion for talk radio.
I believe he truly values and respects his listeners. I've called his show, several times, and have always received a fair share of the airtime.
I would never call Shiers (or a couple of un-named Canadian hosts) because unless you're on the same page, you are edited or dismissed with smug arrogance and no chance against the dump button.
Styble may disagree with people, and argue at length, but I have never heard him cut them short because they didn't fit into his agenda. There's a syndicated day time guy here on the Corus radio network, Charles Adler (he worked in the States for a while) and I am really ashamed that he is the best that this major player can put forward. He makes the KIRO stable look like stars.
(I was on a cruise at the time of the recent "slaves are better off" debacle, so I cannot comment on that much discussed issue.)

"there is a common man "genuine-ness""
I agree and sometimes that works to his detriment...because of 'expert' judges like us..I find him mildly entertaining for limited periods of time...

New Bonneville "suits" to Clendenning in a "heart to heart"- "You fired Prell and promoted WHO? Frank Shiers? Who the [email protected]#% is Frank Shiers? Desk and locker cleared out by tomorow a.m., 10 o'clock, big guy. Oh, and Mr. Clendenning? We've HEARD Frank's show.

KIRO is nothing more than a liberal mouthpiece anyway. I say GOOD RIDDANCE!
Posted by: Lone Republican | February 25, 2007 at 06:08 PM
LR
That is one of the reasons KIRO sucks so much. Everybody knows that liberal radio does not work.
You need an imagination to understand all that important stuff. Left wing imagination left the left when JFK, Scoop Jackson, etc went on.
Posted by: chucks | February 25, 2007 at 06:51 PM
Chucks, do you know who is the Scoop Jackson of today? I would think that Joe Lieberman would fit that bill.
Posted by: Pugetsound | February 25, 2007 at 07:33 PM
How does Scoop Jackson and Kiro fit into the topic?
Posted by: coiler | February 25, 2007 at 08:03 PM
Pugetsound,
100% agree on Lieberman. But is not the dem party treating him as some kind of disease? That is the dem party that I belonged to some twenty years ago. They abandoned me and my democrat principals and appear to be leaving him today.
Coiler,
It was a non creative segway. My bad.
Posted by: chucks | February 25, 2007 at 09:10 PM
Coiler,
My bad also.
Chuck,
I would also bet that the Dem Party would treat Scoop Jackson like they do Lieberman.
What will be very interesting is when the activist element of the Dem Party realizes that they are being used by the Clinton/Rahm Emmanuel the Dean element will tear the Dem Party in two. If you really believe that the war is wrong then the Congress can defund it. Stop playing games. Be honest about it.
But play games they do trying to placate the activist element of the Dem Party with this going back in time vote on the war and the non binding resolution. Who is gonna fall for that?
Should be interesting and I look forward to listening to it being discussed on KIRO one day.
Posted by: Pugetsound | February 25, 2007 at 09:19 PM
Oh yeah Chuck
Call me puts.
Posted by: Pugetsound | February 25, 2007 at 09:20 PM
If you're going to smear people based upon their opinions of the war as "fringe Democrats" then you should educate yourselves a bit better than that. Unless you consider 58% of Americans "fringe Democrats" then you're simply wrong on this...read up on it or keep flogging that strawman.
