Just in case you haven't heard yet, there will be no David Goldstein Show tonight on KIRO (710 AM). Instead, a Seahawks game will be broadcast.
In case you are in chronic need of a regular dose of Goldy and have been missing the Drinking Liberally podcasts (mysteriously missing since October 18th), you are in luck. Goldy will be filling in for Dave Ross and Ron Reagan during Christmas week (25 to 29 Dec), 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Of course, Goldy will be back next Sunday in his regular slot, too.
oh, thankgoddess! I adore the Seecocks team! Batter up!!

No Goldy is a positive.
The guy starts a blog in his basement then gets a talk show.
He throuws soft ball questions to his liberal guests and then bad mouths the Republicans right from the predictable playbook.
It's time for a true intellectual.
Fire Goldy and bring in some fresh talent with a new perspective...not the same old left-right garbage.

So how did that election go for you, Anti?
Posted by: sparky | December 03, 2006 at 09:47 PM
I am always consistent. I support the general election results as a referendum of failed national policies.
I have no party allegiance. I agree with Goldy on many issues. That is not my point.
My argument is that Goldy says the same left-right crap you hear up and down the dial. His statement that the "bloggers have taken over the airwaves" is meaningless. He is no different than a left wing Hannity, Savage or O'Reilly. That schtick is old and tired.
KIRO needs to take the opportunity to bring in more intellectuals like Reagan, Jeffers and Ross.
Goldy should be making Pastrami on Rye at the local Deli. Ron and Don should be personal trainers at Gold's. Shiers should walk dogs for downtown residents. Monson should be greeting customers at WalMart. NY Vinny should be smoking a cigar with a racing form in hand at Emeral Downs.
These guys should not be on the radio!

Thanks for another laugh, Anti! I don't disagree with much of what you said. :)
If you get the Seattle Channel, Dick Stein has an old radio play going on right now. I've seen it three times now so if you miss it, I'm sure they'll repeat it again . . . and again . . . and again. So, why do I watch it? I love old radio.
Anybody ever see Sandy Bradley's Potluck at MOHAI years ago? We went quite frequently. Kind of miss that sort of thing.

Did you mean to type "Mercifurious is Dead is a Ding Dong??"

This pathetic show is STILL on the air?

That big pompous gasbag Bill O'Reilly is at his most offended and outraged today as he excoriates Senator James Webb, for telling Bush to get some business, when he asked about Webb's son in Iraq. Sure, eveyone knows that O'Reilly is theoretically correct- you're supposed to respect our President when you meet him. This is a special case , however, since I don't think we've ever had a modern President who has personally acted like such a punk and a bully. Most observant, non-Repugnican Americans have noticed that Bush behaves like a bully, and I think most of us are angry and disturbed by it. That's why I think privately a large percentage of our population was saying "you go Jim!" when a public figure finally stood up to this foul fellow.
Posted by: Tommy008 | December 04, 2006 at 07:10 PM
What does O'Reilly have left to talk about? I think he should keep talking about it because it makes Bush looker even worse. Keeps the fact that Webb has a son in Iraq up front while Bush himself avoided war and has two daughters vacationing in South America. Poor dears.
Besides, can't wait for the day the straw breaks the camel's back and Bush really goes off. It's coming . . .

BTW, Fremont and Darryl, when is the blathermeister coming back? Or has he retired to his new land of diversity and space?
Fremont, his realtor needs to get some flyers on that post.

In the "get a life outside the internet" department, some folks are actually spending waking hours running a website called DanielCraigisnotJamesBond.com. Get over it, guys. I've seen the movie, and Craig has blown "pretty boy Pierce" and most of the other Bond's out of the water. The public seems to agree, as well.

Listening to Shiers and NY Vinnie get all chummy together encourages me to add them to my Christmas card list...
Please leave the radio to professionals.

Bla'M may be trysting with the Bushettes (the girly girls) this very moment...The moon is full. Only the goddess knows if he'll return. tomorrow....or ever....
Posted by: Fremont | December 04, 2006 at 09:43 PM
So, tell me - oh, goddess - is he comin' back?
Posted by: joanie | December 04, 2006 at 10:04 PM
joanie,
Bla'm will return shortly. That is, unless the twins detain him--detain him and make him undergo "harsh" interrogation (but without organ failure).

Ding dong Mercifurious is dead.
God, I love it when trolls talk dirty to me.
Keep up the good work, MID

Thanks, Darryl. I'm a loyal sort . . . I wept when Siegel left KING; I wept when Althoff (sp?) left KING; I wept when King left KING; I wept when Ebert left KIRO; I wept when Allen left KIRO; I wept when Hart left KIRO . . . and I even wept when Webb left KIRO (OMG!) . . . and I'm planning to weep when Ross leaves KIRO, Reagan leaves KIRO, Franken leaves AA . . .
I get really bonded.

Frank, may I speak frankly? You speak like a provincial, Frank. No , we're much to polite to say country bumpkin or anything like that here, but you are simply too provincial, too much of a smalltown type to be on Seattle radio. I don't know how you slipped through.... you're a fluke, Frank. You see, we're sophisticates here in Seattle- super sophisticates. Your provincial, nasal, and may I say anal approach to topics is not appreciated here among us, Frank. Frank, may I indeed speak frankly? Not to put too fine a point on it, my man, but........
Posted by: Tommy008 | December 04, 2006 at 11:04 PM
And I'm going to weep when Tommie quits posting on Blather . . .
Good post, Tommie. Nice to go nightie with a laugh in my heart.
Posted by: joanie | December 04, 2006 at 11:10 PM
Jeez, Joans, don't your contact lenses get goopy with all that weeping?
Posted by: Fremont | December 05, 2006 at 08:54 AM
Dori Monson just said that he would have no problem shooting a man who was stealing his car.
Posted by: Tommy008 | December 05, 2006 at 02:54 PM
Such assumptions, Fremont. Just cause you need four eyes, don't assume the same for my baby blues. After all, I ate my carrots when I was a kid!
I do go through a lot of kleenex though.
