right-wing blogs we like
The Reagan Wing Hearin lies the real heart of Washington State Republicans. Doug Parris runs this red-meat social conservative group site which bars no holds when it comes to saying who they are and who they're not; what they believe and what they don't; who their friends are and where the rest of the Republicans can go. Well-written, and flaming.
Orbusmax inexhaustible Drudgery of NW conservative news
The Radio Equalizer prolific former Seattle KVI, KIRO talk host speaks authoritatively about radio.
This here's Merciful-Cletus and Meet the Stress with exclusive coverage of the Midnight Radio Network (710KIRO 12-5am) "Listening to trucker-talk 'cause no one else done gonna!"
One thing is for jack-smack sure: It will be entertaining (or as we say 'round these parts: 'tainin'), to be a fly on Herr Clandening's wall when the ratings 18-wheeler rolls-in, I tell you what. Any bets on how they will compare/contrast with Styblehead Boast-to-Boast?
So how does one pick the diamonds from this radio hog-swill? Well, I'll give 'er my best out here in Baghdad Jim country. Tonight's episode: "Sorting actual trucker-talk from commercial-blather"
It's now 12:56am. For the past 30 minutes they've been talking about some newfangled federal regulatin' (shocking!). BUT, intermixed with this has been an EXCLUSIVE interview with a Western Star Trucks, inc. dealer (no, I won't dignify them with a hyperlink). Said dealer proceeds to give us "helpful hints" on the many Western Star Trucks products that can lesson the burden inflicted by the gal-dang federales!
Genius. Seriously, what saviors! Thank-Cthulu we have the Midnight Radio Network around to help poor truckers (get poorer), while at the same time giving them a voice against the real enemy: Them Federal jack-booted thugs. "Sixteen Tons", anyone?
Well done, Tom Clandening. Simultaneously cancelling local programming (albeit weak), helping sell more souls to the company store, and borin' the living buh-jeezers out of Baghdad-Jim-country night-shifters. Okay, so maybe this wasn't a diamond from hog-swill. Rhinestone from a Bedazzler perhaps?
Yaaaawn - Only 5 hours and counting until Mama switches-on (The Stephanie Miller Show, 1090 KPTK, 6-9am)
This is Merciful-Cletus with Meet the Stress signing-off. I love ya Albuquerque! Over-&-out.

Ah, jeez, Nate....I hate it that I have to sleep at night and miss this fantastic piece of true Americana ...but the link! The live link! These are the words that keep our economy on the run! (Does Bla'M pay you to listen to swill while he watches the sun rise over Mayan pyramids? Why else would you sacrifice your soul?)
Well done, Nate! Having never listened to this six-hour(?) commercial that has brought the mighty KIRO to its knees, I now know I never shall.
Just checked the schedule, I notice The Frank Shiers show is on seven - count 'em - seven days a week - three-hours a day. Frank must be quite pleased with himself . . . gonna give up that rock-jock job, Frank?
On Fire with Carl Jeffers has replaced the Shierster on Saturday night now. Thank Christ for small mercies. Yes the Shireman is as smug as a bug in a rug now.
Carl Jeffers must plug his nose when he takes over for FS. Too bad that a quality broadcaster like CF has his time slots jerked around because of football.
I am so grateful that there is KGO to listen to at night, to avoid the truckers & FS.
If you are streaming on the computer, a wonderful music station is KOHO radio out of Leavenworth..Icicle Broadcasting, owned by the venerable Harriett Bullet.
Ms Bullitt is VERY active in many organizations in the Leavenworth area. She lives across Icicle Creek from Sleeping Lady Retreat Center, another of her projects. They have conference space, cabins, a gourmet chef, a chapel and a music center where concerts are held. KOHO is right at the entrance to Sleeping Lady. Ms. Bullitt hops her little tram from her house ( very unassuming medium sized chalet) and eats at the dining room many evenings, although I didnt see her when I was there. Dale Chuhuly has a glass sculpture there, and there is a lot of outdoor art, sculpture, etc.
KOHO is a mix...classical on sunday mornings but the rest of the time it is a mix of adult contemporary, soft rock, jazz, and news from the BBC on the hour.
www.kohoradio.com I stream it all afternoon until its time for Rachel...
KIROFM 97.3 Multi-format: news and nearly all local talk. This is where classic KIRO AM news talk radio went... hopefully, not to die. The home of Dave Ross & Luke Burbank, Dori Monson, Ron & Don, Frank Shiers, Bill Radke, Linda Thomas, Tony Miner and George Noory.
KUOW FM 94.9 Seattle's foremost public radio news and talk.
KVI am 570 KHz Visit the burnt-out husk of one of the seminal right-wing talkers in all the land. Here's where once trilled the reactionary tones of Rush Limbaugh, John Carlson, Kirby Wilbur, Mike Siegel, Peter Weissbach, Floyd Brown, Dinky Donkey, and Bryan Suits.
Now it's Top 40 hits from the '60's & '70's aimed at that diminishing crowd who still remembers them and can still hear.
KTTH am 770 KHz Right wing home of local, and a whole bunch of syndicated righties such as Glennn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Medved, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Lars Larsony, and for an hour a day: live & local David Boze.
KPTK am 1090 KHz Syndicated liberal talk. Stephanie Miller, Thom Hartmann, Ed Schultz, Randi Rhodes, Norman Goldman fill in the large hole to the left on Northwest radio dial.
KLFE AM 1590 kHz Syndicated right-wing 2nd stringers like Mark Levin, Bill Bennett, Mike Gallagher, Dennis Prager, Dennis Miller and Hugh Hewitt inhabit this timid-voiced neighbor honker for your radio enjoyment (unless you're behind something large like Costco).
KOMOAM News, traffic, Ken Schram and John Carlson.

I'm surprised Harriet Bullitt has her hand in any radio anywhere. . . didn't know that. Thanks Sparky. Wonder if she has other stations?
Is it classical?
