~~ By the time you read this, every talk show will be talking about the State Supreme Court's decision on the constitutionality of the State's marriage law as it pertains to the rights of everybody. Expect this topic to go on for weeks. Don't miss Horsesass radio (KIRO, 7-10p) Sunday- Goldy's booked ace-boom Seattle fags, The Stranger Editor Dan Savage, and reporter Eli Sanders to talk about it. Both of these guys make good radio and the subject is something dear to their, er, hearts.
~~ Michelle Malkin, hot, naked, and sweaty? God, we love this woman! Thanks to loyal reader, BiteMeJeff, we got this opportunity to watch our favorite little Holocaust mitigator in her gym shorts doing the bouncey-bounce on a trampoline. (Note she gets jiggy, but never jiggly).
~~ It was a great night Tuesday at Drinking Liberally at the Montlake Alehouse, the schmooze/booze fest where liberal politicos, media mavens, candidates, bloggers, and those who love them meet for weekly political plotting, pillaging, and plotzing. The joint buzzed with the news that County Councilman Bob Ferguson had announced in a pathetic presser that he had, with the agonizingly pretty Councilman Reagan Dunn, coaelesced in a slimy tangle (not unlike fornicating banana slugs) to make a five/four majority (Ferguson cuckolding his fellow Democrats) in favor of putting the idea of making the County Auditor's office an elected position on the ballot. Read all about it here. As the evening's podcast got started, Ferguson, (who Goldy at horsesass.org calls the "Joe Lieberman of King County politics") walked in. He donned a pair of headphones and a red hisbiscus at his left ear and subjected himself to some hearty slander by the assembled podcasters, who were loaded for bear, and included Goldy, Molly Bradley-Martin, the PI's Joel Connelly, and Carl Ballard. Ferguson vigorously defended himself, and they, mostly just said EEEUW! There wasn't much he could do to stanch the stench of the blatantly political flatus; or convince this crowd that adding a full helping of partisan politics to the Elections Department was anything but stoopid. It's a nice chunk o radio- you can hear it here sometime today. BTW, Stefan: nobody on the public payroll said, "fuck."
~~ We wrote Monday about the indomitable Tina Nole, Dave Ross and Tom Douglas's (KIRO Saturdays, 4-7p) producer, and recently recognized in downtown circles as "a yummy single." Everything's coming up Millhouse for Nole, it seems. She'll add to her work load starting today as producer of The Ron Reagan Show (KIRO m-f, 12-1p).
~~ We can't win. By either reporting or ignoring Mike Webb and his journey through the Seattle Courts on his felony fraud case. We get complaints every time we mention him; we get 'em if we don't keep up. He seems to be boring from every perspective. His trial has been kicked ahead day after day by a prosecutor who's on another case that's gone long. Stay tuned. Incidentally, Webb has dropped the pretense of saying he's on 5-9 stations across the country (New Haven, Boulder, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, Boston, etc.) as he has for months. And he now no longer mentions the apocryphal Progressive Networks, a network that existed only in the ether between his ears. He streams live, not podcasts, from his website weeknights.
~~ Why don't sharks eat talk show hosts, you ask? professional courtesy, is what we're hearin'.
If you don't tell us about Mike Webb no one will. The press sure won't report it. I am curious how Webb is able to slow the justice system to a crawl.

What a major fucking blow to same sex couples. I guess our society isn't ready for this shit yet. The bigots need to die out before gays can have equal rights. Maybe I'll move to Europe and get away from this backwards shithole we call America. I hate religion, I hate this country.

Wasn't Dunn "Ronald Reagan Dunn"? When did he drop the moniker?
Posted by: Zippy | July 26, 2006 at 09:07 AM
John,
To quote a principle espoused on the "Evangelicals" thread:
"We've already told you that the vast majority favors 'traditional marriage'. Majority rules, end of discussion:"
Thrasymachus
(I substituted "traditional marriage" for "embryonic stem cell research")
I'm guessing that line of thinking doesn't give you much comfort.

It seems like Bryan Styble is getting more and more calls each time he hosts the KIRO Overnight; and folks seem to be getting accustomed to his MO.

Hats off to Ferguson for helping put forth a ballot measure to elect a County Auditor instead of appointment by the unimpressive King County Exec.
That took some guts and integrity, both of which the Dems on the King County Council are seriously lacking.

What do you think electing an auditor will change? I'm beginning to think you guys are dangerous. I guess you won't be happy until we have a Kenneth Blackwell . . . then, when republicans win by shorting voting machines, making calls and sending out pamphlets with misinformation, and programming voting machines to turn votes for the dem candidate into votes for the repub candidate (as in Kerry and Bush), you'll be happy.
Well, that took guts (which is a republican thing I guess) but so much for integrity. Can't have everything I guess.

They will never forgive the current State Auditor for standing up and being honest about Gregoire winning, albeit by just a few votes. He was supposed to toe the party line and call the race for Rossi regardless of the facts. So what better way to try to ensure that things could change by going at it one county at a time. We are just lucky the redistricting thing has not hit here yet like it has in Texas..

Boy, you can say that again! How do these people get away with it? Unbelievable!

Is it just me or are others sick to death of those West Coast Wellness commercials with the hotshots who were making "good six-figure salaries" before but now are making 20 OR 50 large a month with old WCW, whatever the hell that is. The people on the testimonials all seem vaguely weird- not quite real.
