Tina Nole is Dave Ross's producer, and inarguably, one the city's best at what she does. We've always ID-ed her as a slick chick; but we had no idea how slick she actually is until we picked up the August edition of the new downtown mag, Seattle Metropolitan.
On page 97, there's a pic of the 34-year-old Tina, in a most unproducer-like dress- and a look that probably produces more in her daily life than she probably has the time or inclination for.
She's alternately described as a "hot date," "a yummy single," and a "blooming personality." We're not sure what all that means, but we're pretty sure it's good for a young woman's prospects for someone else to sit on her head other than that danged dog she says she loves so much.
Here's the deal: you can get a date with Tina if you go to the magazine's singles auction & party to benefit On the Boards and bid her out. (We've always thought the idea of singles auctions was a creepy concept; but then again, when we were single, we hadda resort to picking up dates at Sex Anonymous meetings and car dealership grand openings with free hot dogs. Once we went to a Sex Anon meeting with free hot dogs- a big mistake...).
Tina is a KIRO blogger and a recent post might give you an idea about her values, and what you might have to contend with getting to know her better. According to a posted laundry list, she's most thankful for: every dog she knows, Tom Douglas, cell phones, lasagne from the Pink Door, bubble baths, Rachel Corrie, wine, and double-sided tape- all come in higher on her list than God.
No judgments, here Tina, but we're just sayin': this God thing might be a problem in the Big Picture and a little off-putting to some of the single men we were hoping would bid on you. Think about it.
(Seattle Met is a knock-off of Seattle Magazine that strains (and, so far, fails) to distinguish itself in the depressing milieu of local urban lifestyle slicks. Full Disclosure: BlatherWatch's Michael is a contributing editor of Seattle Magazine.)
How about Styble - sounds like he needs a hot date!

After my vacation in Acupulco, where I had the late-night encounter with the Mike Webb lookalike and swam with the dolphins, I now vow to no longer say mean things about Bryan Styble or Fran Shiers. Well, for this week, at least.

How about Goldstein? Maybe if he had someone like Tina in his life, he would quit whining so much. god knows he needs a producer.

Tina: I just saw you picture and you're hot. Would you consider a no-bid date if there's cheese involved?

Dave talked about Tina's list today and said he read it on a blog. Apparently, Blatherwatch is hot, too. Congratulations, Michael.

She does call God "She"--so maybe all is not lost for those single men you're referring to.....
Rachel Corrie? OK....hmm....
Doesn't matter anyway. I tend not to go for the blondes.

I was sorry to see that you were interested only in a man.

Sorry Tina,i love hearing you on the radio and if you work for Dave you must be the best as Michael says, but you're too smart for me, i like 'em cute and stupid.

No, I am 42. Anything past 30 to me is not young anything. I do not know Tina persomally- she may be the greatest thing since botted beer. But 34 is past the expiration date...

Fifty is gonna hit you mighty hard, Mark!

The time was September 11, 1973. The country was Chile. The event was the bloody overthrow of a democratic government. And the criminals were Henry Kissinger, Richard Nixon, The CIA, and Chilean Dictator Augusto Pinochet. Pepsico, ITT, and other large U.S. corporations were also guilty parties in these crimes against the State and against The People of Chile.
The US involvement in coup planning began even before Allende's election victory, under the code-name FUBELT, with action plans prepared for Kissinger's consideration. One group of officers working under CIA direction carried out the assassination of General Rene Schneider, a pro-Allende officer, in an unsuccessful attempt to spark a full-scale coup before Allende could take office.

So much for our righteous mission to spread democracy. In 1953 the democratically elected gov't of Iran nationalized oil which Britain didn't like (the oil company was BP) and considered military action. But, it was Eisenhower who actually initiated the coup when he came into office. We all know what happened then and subsequently. We are still paying for it in terms of trust.
Dave is discussing DOMA again today. He's quoting stats about marriage, divorce and illegitimate children . . . he's armed and it should be a good show.

BTW, thanks for moving us off that other thread! I was so tired of it . . . :)
