The Mike Webb trial is today, Thursday, July 26.
He's drawn Judge Julie Spector in her courtroom in Room E-733; at the King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave., Seattle. Pretrial arguments and jury selection will begin at 10a. Opening statements are expected to begin Monday.
Webb was arrested in December on fraud charges after police say he tried to claim damages from an accident he had with an uninsured driver on a Geico insurance policy the company says he bought after the accident. He was fired shortly thereafter from his evening talk host job at KIRO AM radio.

A tangled webb: the seattle police's case against mike webb
Hackers? police conspiracy? yeah, that's it...
Mike webb's attorney no stranger to "dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation."
If I lived closer I would go see what happens. Keep us posted please!

Mr. Webb wants to know if you will be attending, Bla'M...you are his official nemesis.

Yes, and stay outa-the-way of his fist!

Thanks for keeping us updated, Blathering Michael, with your secret source down at the courthouse. Fantastic. Mike is feeling frisky tonight- he called "Moose" Monson a "fucking moron" for having differing opinions than him on gay marriage, and is mentioning the mythical "Progressive Networks" again- all the time. Webb get a clue- you got your gay rights bill passed in Olympia- a bill I support. You're not going to shove your full agenda down our throats- it's this far and no further. And Mike- you're still a lying, phony bastard. I'm wearing my football helmet to the trial and will sit in the back, so I can hear all the titters and suppressed horselaughs when you testify for your defense.

Will be there with bells on - right next door.
OH, and I'll be packing plenty of batts for the digicam. Shall I wear a flack-jacket?

Courtroom events in Seattle today disappointed the fans from Blatherwatch. Following the Judges instructions, Mr. Webb agreed to the misdemeanor of Inappropriate Demeanor at The Time of Being Caught in an Uninsured Vehicle Incident. As a first time offender, Mr. Webb will serve an onerous sentence of community service. Mike will be found every Tuesday night for a year at the Mont lake Tavern where he will distribute, at his own expense, free peanuts to all attendees. During this period of community service, Mr, Webb has agreed to make no political comments, just hand out the nuts.

First time offender for a white collar crime...Mike will get a tap on the wrist.
Posted by: umo | July 27, 2006 at 05:49 AM
Tap on the wrist or not-AND THAT'S NOT A SLAMDUNK YET, DEPENDS ON THE JUDGE- he'll still be a convicted felon. He blew his chance to plea this down. What an ass.
Posted by: Tommy008 | July 27, 2006 at 07:10 AM
Maybe he'll plead temporary insanity. I'd believe it. :)
Posted by: joanie | July 27, 2006 at 07:17 AM
He will be helping us win the war against the out of control nazis at the GOP, crazy or not.

attention Tom Clendenning and KIRO- Mike Webb is rebroadcasting tapes of your copyrighted show material regularly over his rinky dink internet show. Last night's show was a particularly egregious example.

Some good news from the religious left (I didn't think they had one organized!): "Religious Left Gears Up to Face Right Counterpart" ". . . They want to end the Iraq war, ease global warming, combat poverty, raise the minimum wage, revamp immigration laws, and prevent "immoral" cuts in federal social programs.. . ."

Though this is indeed good news, I'd like to see less religion in politics, period. Fat chance of that happening in this country, though.

Awww those Religious Leftists are just communists...
Actually lukobe, and you can disagree with me if you want, I think you will find that the Religious Left is not an "in your face" organization when it comes to religion. Things are done because it is the right way to treat people. They dont preach that if you dont follow their ways you will burn in hell. I look at Jimmy Carter, who is moderate, and is a very religious man. I cant recall a time when he demanded that religion take a front seat in anything. But he continues to work for habitat for humanity and quietly does things that help people. That is the example of Christianity that doesnt get much play these days.

Ohhhh Bla'M hurry up and tell us what happened at the hearing this morning....
Posted by: sparky | July 27, 2006 at 11:25 AM
Actually Joanie, I think you're right. They are definitely not as in-your-face. I still wish this were a country where an atheist could get elected president. Then again, if we can't get anyone elected who isn't a Protestant (with the exception of Kennedy)...
Posted by: lukobe | July 27, 2006 at 12:18 PM
Sparky properly responded with the in-your-face comment. Good answer Sparky. Will we ever have rational, reasonable politics again?
I think an atheist could get elected president. Someday someone who exudes kindness and wisdom will make religion a non-topic again. I don't think s/he should emphasize the non-religious aspect however! :)

On Al Franken, Christy Harvey of The Center for American Progress just said that children are getting sick from formaldehyde in the FEMA trailers. FEMA is handling it by telling them that if they continue to talk to reporters, they will have to move out. They are not allowed to talk to reporters anymore.
Are we still in America or have we fallen down the rabbit hole?
"Private testing finds high levels of formaldehyde; residents report illnesses"
Posted by: joanie | July 27, 2006 at 04:07 PM
I think we may indeed have fallen down the rabbit hole....
And I wonder if I'll live to see an atheist elected president! I doubt it...

I returned to my classroom the other day and found out that this blog has been filtered out and I can't blather anymore at school. I'm depressed. . .
It got me to wondering just who blathers during the day and during the summer . . .
educators cuz we're off for the summer
unemployed people cuz their off
retired people
managers/supervisors cuz they don't answer to anybody and don't have to work
CEOs cuz they can do anything they want
writers who make their living at the word processor and like distractions
kids cuz they're off for the summer
employees who take risks
people who work nights
Who else is a likely daytime blogger?
