David Goldstein has announced tonight's topics for his 2nd ever radio show to air on 710-KIRO from 7-10p.
7PM: The Stranger’s Eli Sanders is back from Vegas where he witnessed the blogger revolution at Yearly Kos. He’ll fill us in on the details, and maybe give us a first hand account of Tim Eyman’s failure in Olympia this week.
8PM: Chris Van Dyk from Citizens for More Important Things will join us to talk the Sonics, Key Arena, and his group’s Initiative 91 to prohibit public subsidies of professional sports stadiums. Are the Sonics worth $200 million in taxpayer money? How about the Storm? Or do we have other priorities? (You know, things like schools.)
9PM: Was the 2004 Presidential election stolen? The Seattle Weekly’s Geov Parrish joins me to talk about Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s stunning expose on Rolling Stone, and why the traditional media won’t cover it. What does this mean for WA state and our move to all vote-by-mail?
Tune in or stream live and join the debate tonight from 7 to 10PM. Call me at 877-710-KIRO (5476) or leave a comment here, and I promise I’ll actually try to read the thread.
ATTENTION PRODUCERS: YOU GOT AN INTERESTING SHOW TO PROMOTE? LET US KNOW- IF WE AGREE IT'S INTERESTING, WE'LL PROMO IT ON BLATHERWATCH.
Thanks to David for breaking the blog-barrier! Would another blogger with radi-yo experience be inclined to take the remaining KIRO time-slot, huh, Bla'M????

Thanks for the reminder! Would have forgotten as KIRO is off my radar screen these days.

I will stream it at 7...right now I am listening to KINK FM online from Portland...excellent music station....

Being able to post here while goldy is on the air will be nice..too bad KIRO shut down the chat room, although the irregulars that often showed up there would not want to hear a real liberal, so this venue will be better!
Posted by: sparky | June 11, 2006 at 06:09 PM
Oh, correction...He will be watching his own blog...too bad.
Posted by: sparky | June 11, 2006 at 06:19 PM
His blog is definitely a guy's turf . . . sort of one slam after another. Frankly, as much as Michael likes him and as much as I wish him well (by association), he's gotta earn his stripes with me.
He's got good guests! I'll give him major points for that. I love talk that picks the brains of thinkers and writers . . . not just ranting.
Except for Mike Malloy. He has permission to rant. He's good at it and makes me laugh!

I look at it this way.....the summer is all reruns on TV....its repeats on AA at this time, I can bounce between screens to have KINK FM playing good music during the silences, AND....he isnt Dori. Anyone has to be better than reruns and Dori.
And David might just turn out to be great!

Mike Malloy was terrific last night at the AAm. event...he raised the issue of liberalism=atheism, and Thom Hartmann, (both your faves, Joans...) was eloquent in his assertion that Christianity has a liberal face, as well, and liberal Christians need to mobilize to have that face appeal to progressives.

So far I think he is doing just fine!

If he can push the correct button to keep Eli on the air....

I agree. I like what I'm hearing. Last time out I thought he cut people off a little prematurely but he's really comfortable and well-paced tonight.

Oh, oh.....the closing of his daughter's school again...and, you're right, Joans, it's a guy's turf. Sparkmola, do you care about KeyArena? (I think David's guest's point is that there are more important priorities.) THE ADS ARE PAINFUL!

Thank Our Lucky Stars that Ryder was not put in that time slot more-or-less permanently! Her and her "oft-times meaningless prattle" were difficult to listent to....

Oh, I'm loving this! Excellent guests and really good discussion! Man, I hope he keeps the show guest-oriented. I'm not one to give easy compliments but he is a natural! And I really love the point of view!
Yes! Yes! Yes!

Fremont, funny that Mike would be talking about Christianity because if any Christian tunes into his show, they goin' to tune out real fast! Personally, I love it! But, it's not exactly what you're going to hear in church! (LOL)
I'm feeling sort of giddy because it is so nice to have a local liberal back on the radio! Thank you, Tom!

Or, as Andrew posted earlier, KIRO here

Very engrossing show last night with interesting relevant topical matters that listeners could relate to. Certainly more entertaining than listening to Turi Ryder yap about animal cruelty. Hopefully with such a guest and topical format, Dave will have a long run on KIRO.

as much as i despise Goldy and his politics, his show, i must admit, kept me listening. i'm pretty sure Stefan, whose website is so much more serious and substantive could have done as well, but until he gets his own show,i will be listening to Goldy. Hadn't realized he was gay, before. KIRO is getting to be quite the gay station now with Ron Reagan, Goldy and Brian Styble.
Posted by: the savior | June 12, 2006 at 02:32 PM
S'or: Do you have any sources for your gay-saying, or are you just an idiot?

He's just pulling your chain regarding the gayness. During the Reagan administration some people said Ron, jr. was gay because he was a ballet dancer. Of course it's not true and neither is Goldy. I don't know about Brian Styble, however!

Geez, Fremont! I've been playing mental games in my dreams trying to crack your code! Now you tell me it is nothing more than Michael's little robot identifier? I have to admit sometimes it takes me three times to get it right! Do you think I might need glasses? (LOL)
Posted by: joanie | June 12, 2006 at 03:49 PM
If the savior really listened to Goldy, he would have heard the bit about Goldy's kid's school being shut down...
Posted by: sparky | June 12, 2006 at 04:59 PM
Joans, you genius....you already cracked the convoluted code!
Only a mystery fan would have such astounding ability.
I'm just doing a random act of kindness by helping out the next guy....
Annoying, isn't it? Almost as annoying as robot-detecting....
