Yeah, we heard it. The Ron and Don's (KIRO m-f, 4-7p) Tuesday interview with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. (And you can, too at if you click here).
All day Wednesday, everyone (especially the boyz) slapped the boyz on the backs for their interview with Madame. It almost made them seem like grown-ups.
Even Dave Ross said, "It was great. they're great, she's great."
We weren't convinced- especially after Dave Ross revealed that Ron wears a mullet, the State Haircut of North Carolina, which some research has indicated actually reduces brain mass over time.
And it's not like Albright's hard to get. She's on book tour and she's all over the dial and cable TV right now.
We weren't expecting greatness; particularly after hearing promos all day by one of them (we can't tell 'em apart) about how the 68-year old Albright can leg-press 400 lbs.
Would the interview be the usual Ron & Dumber yuckety-yuck about nose hairs, cheer leaders, and body fluids?
One of them assured Albright, "I went cover-to-cover on your book," for which we were grateful, we can't imagine why they'd be the ones to do that interview at KIRO unless someone upstairs wanted them to dummy-up a little gravitas.
The shock-jockety duo were fired after a very short run on The Buzz, the late not-so great testosterone-secretor recently transformed into a shit-kicker station by Entercom.
The problem we have with Ron & Wrong is that they just don't sound like KIRO. They're more the half-rack, muscle-shirt, Corvette jockey kinda hosts.
But they weren't terrible with Albright. OK, Ron or Don (or which ever) did ask her if she ever planned to remarry- her husband left her for another woman in 1982- so this was not exactly a question that's burning up the tabloids.
And yes, she can leg press 400 lbs. or so she says. Might have something to do with her Eastern European ancestry, a strong woman-ed race, we hear, with strong lower-bodies.
(It was depressing to hear the charming old bat talking well-informed sense about foreign policy. We shed a tear nostalgically remembering back when this country had a foreign policy).
Let's face it: the boyz are "talking meat." We can't help but like them -they're good-natured and kind of vulnerable- the way pit bulls can be after they're neutered.
As they said, Tues. "She's done a lot more with her life than we have."
I've heard several names for the aforementioned mullet, but the best I still think is "The Bounty from South King County"

Baloney! Post the link Michael I think we would all like to actually see where you found your information for that. It just doesn't make sense its just another liberlie to beat down the south and conservatives. What a load of garbage. I'm so sick of the lies.

The south is growing tired of Bush, our side is winning...

If you are turned on by Mullets, you should move to Everett or Lynnwood....

Madeleine's a genius, just ask a Rwandan or a Bosnian.
Very cogent foreign policy circa 1993-98.
She can suggest from the sidelines, but "In my experience..." should never escape her escalloped lips.
She actually got better questions from Kathy Goertzen.

Michael Hood--you are a snob and an elitest. Ron & Don are fun, and smart. Their show moves faster and is more listenable to the boring Ross, or Franken and easier to take than Savage. That Franken is a droner. Sorry, but I like Dori and Mike Webb because they don't take themselves so seriously that they can't have some fun and laugh at themselves.
BTW who cares what you think, you facist.

Yeah, Bla'M, you're a facist (sic)! Note Sandy's address....

The Wall Street Journal Online just reported chimpy's approval rating at 29%!!!!!How low will he go??
Posted by: Rick | May 11, 2006 at 07:55 PM
Hey -Yesterday, I saw the CNN/USA Today poll that showed Hillary's rating is 34%, McCain 31%, Al Goreleone 28%, John Kerry 26% and finally Congress 23%. The Democrat Politicians suck as do the Republican politicians in the public's eye.
