Rove Informs White House He Will Be Indicted
By Jason Leopold |t r u t h o u t
Friday 12 May 2006
Within the last week, Karl Rove told President Bush and Chief of Staff Joshua Bolten, as well as a few other high level administration officials, that he will be indicted in the CIA leak case and will immediately resign his White House job when the special counsel publicly announces the charges against him, according to sources.
Details of Rove's discussions with the president and Bolten have spread through the corridors of the White House where low-level staffers and senior officials were trying to determine how the indictment would impact an administration that has been mired in a number of high-profile political scandals for nearly a year, said a half-dozen White House aides and two senior officials who work at the Republican National Committee.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, sources confirmed Rove's indictment is imminent. These individuals requested anonymity saying they were not authorized to speak publicly about Rove's situation. A spokesman in the White House press office said they would not comment on "wildly speculative rumors."
I pray to God that this is true Michael. If it is it looks pretty much like the end of this corrupt administration.God Bush is taken to quoting from the bible-maybe he forgot the verse"your sins shall find you out".Karma is a bitch.

I don't think the indictments should end with Rove . . . I hope Fitzgerald keeps fishing.
I want to see the corrupt "Bush Crime Family" as Mike Malloy calls them go down big time!

Gee,
Is it a wonder that Bush is going to speak to the nation Monday night on the illegal immigration issue (also mid term election year issue, supposedly)
when possibly the news of
Karl Rove's indictment might explode during the day on Monday? Are we (Bush and the Republicons)trying to distract the nation again...........
On a subject similar to Rove's situation.......
Lee Atwater apologized on his deathbed for his political antics,(Nixon years) ya think Karl might do the same in front of a federal judge? Who would of thunk it?
Posted by: Jeast | May 13, 2006 at 12:36 AM
Maybe he'll go hunting with Cheney, then apologize on his death bed!
Oh, thankyoujesus! Let the parade begin!
Posted by: Fremont | May 13, 2006 at 06:59 AM
So this is why Bushie wants to give a speech on the non-issue of immigration...must take people's minds off of Rove...
Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 07:42 AM
If Rove is indicted, Bushler will probably invade Iran or Venezuela by October.
Posted by: chris | May 13, 2006 at 08:15 AM
If and when Bush's brain is indicted, the administration will be in absolute freefall. The problem is then we have a cornered dog frantically trying anything to get his power back. This is scary stuff.
Posted by: Rick | May 13, 2006 at 08:34 AM
jason leopold has predicted many times that a rove indictment is imminent. just do a google search. i think he's full of shit.
Posted by: anthony | May 13, 2006 at 09:32 AM
why? Because it has been hinted at so many times? From what I read, almost nobody goes before a grand jury as many times as Rove has, which is supposed to be an indication that he is in deep shit...I think this time is the winner...
But Chris is right.. they might feel they have nothing to lose and do something really really stupid.
Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 09:47 AM
Why is KPTK still running an ad for the immigration march in Seattle for May 1? Thank God I can get KPOJ...
Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 09:48 AM
We need to crush the nuts of the Republicans in November and then begin impeachment proceedings against Bush.
Posted by: gusto and poor | May 13, 2006 at 04:24 PM
Behold! It has come to pass! ROVE INDICTED
Posted by: Fremont | May 13, 2006 at 08:28 PM
Reality check - Rove has not been officially indicted yet. I'll believe it when the major press runs with that story, but not until.
Rove allegedly fed Bush all of that bogus information about amnesty for illegal aliens will benefit the Republican party - if he said that, I hope he is indicted ! He has probably influenced Bush to go forward with a large-scale amnesty for illegal immigrants, which is a slap in the face for all legal immigrants and Americans as well, since there is a large number of illegals that end up filling up space in US jails - ~29% of the prisoners.
The mainstream media actually would like to see widespread amnesty for illegal aliens, because they believe it will help get Democrats elected.
(I can supply evidence if anyone wants). Has this whole country gone decadent, trying to rewrite history of the modern day fall of the Roman Empire ?
Posted by: KS | May 13, 2006 at 10:02 PM
Yes, vg gusto. we can watch the GOP get their dick knocked into the dirt come november.
Posted by: chris | May 13, 2006 at 10:02 PM
You think immigration is a non-issue ? Are you a cling-on ?
Posted by: KS | May 13, 2006 at 10:04 PM
This quote from the huffpo
Waiting for this Rove indictment reminds me of what it was like waiting for Francisco Franco to die in Spain back in 1975.
In five years, SNL comedians may be saying, "And Karl Rove is still a criminal."
Posted by: chris | May 13, 2006 at 10:20 PM
Immigration has always been an issue but the question is, why has Bush glommed on to it NOW???? When we have so much other crap going on, why is it suddenly something that has to be fixed immediately?
Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 10:34 PM
He needs his distractions, he is the 'decider'. His party is now DEAD.
Posted by: chris | May 13, 2006 at 10:37 PM
by the way, that was a rhetorical question,,,I know the answer.,,
:Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Look over HERE Be AFRAID!! They will take your jobs!! Gay people are scary!! They want you to marry your dog!!!
Anything to keep people from paying attention....
Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 10:41 PM
Immigration is suddenly an issue because Bush needs to throw his rapidly shrinking base a red meaty bone in order to encourage *just* enough turnout to keep Congress in Republican hands this November.
Posted by: Trip | May 13, 2006 at 10:47 PM
Because the only thing scarier to the Bushies than terrorists, low oil prices, or foreign brown people...is a Democratic majority in Congress.
Posted by: Trip | May 13, 2006 at 10:49 PM
and his booger eatin' might become an issue too...

Posted by: sparky | May 13, 2006 at 11:29 PM
Chris, is that your creation?
Yes, KS, I was premature...I'm so upset by the finale of my dream White House, West Wing, tonight, that I wanted the finale of the real White House to correspond. But I shall be patient...Rove WILL be indicted. And if the immigration speech doesn't sufficiently deflect public attention, there's always Iran (back to the Bogeyman, Chris!)
Posted by: Fremont | May 14, 2006 at 09:46 AM
How come this story hasn't been picked up by any MSM channel... not even Drudge? There's no substance to it.
Posted by: TomF | May 14, 2006 at 10:12 AM
It's not official yet, TF; and, as anthony shitfully pointed out, Jason Leopold's reporting credibility has been questioned (which means nothing, de facto, but that.)
Posted by: Fremont | May 14, 2006 at 10:22 AM
Why aren't you at church, ye who reads Drudge?

Amazing how many delusional libs there are in the Sound area. Suspect they will be on a suicide watch after the 11-06 elections.

Loved the comment about Franco! Don't you all miss the early days of SNL and the original cast?
Am watching on line a repreat of Foolproof Presents "Mainstream or Extreme - The Future of the Republican Party" being moderated by Ron Reagan and featuring Doug Sutherland, Carlson, Vance, Sam Reed, and Ben Guerriero (pres of Log Cabin Repubs). Originally presented 9-05.
Very interesting to hear all (inc. Guerriero) talking reflectively and moderately about the party, Carlson continuing to be partisan and opinionated without reflections . . . and VAnce his usual superficial, whiny, ridiculous self. He is being more tolerated than listened to. Interesting. Guerriero takes issue with him off and on.
Best part when they all looked at Vance when he said "everything you hear about the Bush deficits is false. . . " Even the audience is rustling around negatively. Reagan is smiling! Vance: "People throw out these myths and don't understand the facts.' He went on to 'splain them. . .
Carlson: "Everything Chris said is correct and yet we are all GUILTY." Now he's explaining why they are guilty.
Vance: "John, that's not true!" etc. etc. etc.
What fun! I can't wait to see all these demagogues toppled off their superior perches! (Except for Reed and Guerriero who are actually talking some sense even though they are republicans.) Sutherland lost me when he complained that Katrina victims were "waiting to be taken care of." Who is ready for a disaster on the level of Katrina - or for that matter, an 8.0 or 9.0 or 10.0 earthquake in Seattle? (I think those count as biggies?)
I'm no republican but I sure like Guerriero! He could possibly win me over . . . if he became a liberal. (LOL!)

"I think all of the disenters and they're families should be shown to be the TRESONIS TRAITORS that they are!"
SPELLING CORRECTION: should be "tresonous" not tresonis. Thank you.

RedRachel, prayer works. I prayed for a weekend of peace and quiet (or in your language piece and quite) of your hatred and venom and my prayers were answered. Praise the Lord!! I will now resume praying for your earnest repentance and conversion.

19 Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
Join me in praying for RedRachel's conversion to a liberal, Karl Rove's indictment, GWB's impeachment and his trial for war crimes. I just need one more person praying with me and it's a done deal.

Yep, mr Leopold has a sketchy past as a journalist...
However, that does not mean that Rove will not ultimately be indicted...

Okay, ReRa, now you're gonna get it! Here goes......y-a-w-n.......

Did anyone click on the Al Gore on SNL link? (I'd hate to have wasted the hours I spent learning how to link, thanks to Joans and the elusive &rew...)
Posted by: Fremont | May 15, 2006 at 09:28 AM
Ya I saw that Al Gore clip on SNL, it was hilarious! It's cool that he can laugh at himself, I thought he was getting a little nuts with the beard and the extreme rants. That was a good SNL, probably my favorite in a long long time.

Bless your little heart, Rachel. You wrote a special post with the sole purpose of correcting a spelling error on your previous post. Just one little problem- misspelled the spelling correction. That was the most adorable thing I have ever seen. I just want to give you a little Eskimo kiss right now.

At first I thought RedRachel was a hoax. Now I'm convinced I'm reading the words of someone with a serious mental illness or unusually low IQ.
I hope the liberal-minded folks who read this blog will take this into consideration and measure their responses to RR with compassion.
Posted by: passingthrough | May 15, 2006 at 12:09 PM
Anyone who self-corrects a misspelling with a misspelling - not real, just a hoaxer looking for attention...
There was only a slight believability to ReRa/Jennifer_whatever/husband stand-in - and it's now been destroyed.
Keep up the charicature, though, ReRa - it's almost as much fun watching who believes in you, and who doesn't...

Every time sparky says "amen", a right-wing christian conservative (okay, I recognize that that's a rather unfair collage of inconsistencies - ReRa, sorry for leaving you behind there) angel loses its mullet :(
