Michael sez, "~~We've been looking at the numbers from the Fall book (we'll be sharing our impressions soon) but one number jumped out at us. Erin Hart, before her recent firing from weekends at KIRO, pulled a perfect 0.0 rating in the Fall book- we saw it in black and white."

Yes, please do. I'm interested in all the ratings on KIRO by ALL the hosts. Who has the higher ratings, Dave or Dori? And how do the other stations stack up against their competitors by time slots?

If Erin Hart had a 0.0 rating, then I don't need to see the others hosts' ratings...those would have to be a MINUS 0.0 rating. :-)

haha a 0.0 for Erin? That sounds about right. She had this obnoxious sense of "worthiness", that regular, likeable people, successful or not, just don't have. No humility. When she talked about her family it just angered me, because she projected this attitude that her family was just so much more special than yours. Hart didn't connect with the callers on an emotional level, because she couldn't come off that "I'm so worthy" plane of arrogance that she put herself up on . The listener/caller felt alienated and disconnected form her. And she really doesn't like non-gay white men. Did she think she'd just build her ratings on women and minorities?

Erin's 0.0 doesn't surprise me at all. She was the only KIRO talker that made me switch stations immediately, regardless of her topic. Guess I wasn't alone.

She was trying to do strident, edgy, "in-your-face" radio, but it's not that easy to make that stuff entertaining or listenable -- there's more nuance and technique to Rush and Hannity than we sometimes care to admit -- and Erin was sort of a pale, desperate Xerox. Telling people to shut up or calling them morons when they'd only been talking for six seconds, etc. Rude isn't edgy.

Neither is thin-skinned. After a long bout of immediate, pointless, hey-you-shut-up confrontations with callers, I once got on the KIRO website's instant-message thing and said I was twirling the dial because I thought she was being condescending. Within 30 seconds she was shouting on the air: "Okay, new rule! No more cheap shots through the website! Calling me condescending, or whatever! No more!" Didn't make any sense to any listener in the 50,000-watt universe except me. But Erin was more focused on herself than her performance.

Ever been to a fast-food restaurant in England? And noticed how something's a little bit weird, flat and "off"? They got the blueprints and the manual and did their best to screw it together, but something -- the food, the service, the lighting -- is just really haywire and imitative and wrong. That was Erin versus authentic "edgy" radio. You can't screw it together just by reading the instructions.

Glad she's off KIRO.

Is it Schram and Dojo Dave?
Now that you mention it, there is a vibe.

Wow.. you'd think Erin would have had the humility not to openly lobby for Webb's slot when she's getting ratings like that. I thought she did okay until she got that dog Pedro, or what she would call her baby Pedro, then things began to get hard to take.

I liked her . . . sort of. I like her issues-oriented talk and I thought she treated most callers with respect.

I did get annoyed with some of her personal commentary: she's from everywhere and her family had been everywhere and done everything and represents everyone!

That was kind of mean but I did resent that part of her show. I really liked the rest of it however.

I was jumping for joy at the headline "shiers is out" but then I read "the rest of the story" and was so depressed. That wasn't fair.

I have a hard time imagining a 0.0 rating. Some of you will have some crow to eat if it turns out to be a mistake . . .

Still, pretty shocking!

I wonder why her rating sunk lower than it had been. Did she become less tolerable or what?

"The 12th man, sad for a few days, is now getting bored. And his wife wants him to come home."

Only after he gives 'er the big post-Superbowl Ike-Turner what-for

Note: I find it amusing that KIRO will be doing something similar to their hosts/wives.

Will Styble soon say "I tripped & fell down the stairs"?

There are alot of Frank Shiers haters out there - is it just because he won't give you all a pass on your take or agree with you and he asks for the facts, which may seem like an air of superiority.

Actually it does the other listeners a service and does not permit lies from going out over the airwaves. Not that he always gets it right - he doesn't , but he seems to believe in accountability - I know that is a thorn in the leftist's side, but alot of the rest of us appreciate it.

I know that I can only listen to Styble for about 2 minutes - then its time to switch the station.

Frank Shiers is disliked by a lot of people because of his smarmy, phony-humble, ass-kissing personality, all politics aside.

I'll bet there's a reason he's an EX-teacher.

Dana sez, "I'll bet there's a reason he's an EX-teacher."

Yeah, he met Joanie and her pal Al.

Shiers just sounds like a dick. It's that simple.

Andrew sez, "Shiers just sounds like a dick. It's that simple."

How do you know what a "dick" sounds like? Been getting some of that slurpy action have you?

You're a sick little man

Hey Michael,

Ready to start those fall ratings yet? I realize you have to be crafty so you won't get in trouble, but surely you can slip one out every couple of days.

Andrew sez, "You're a sick little man"

I may be sick, but I'm bigger than you.

Hmmmmm...I hit a nerve.

Men arguing about dick size...you really did start something here Dana! :-)

Achhhemm, Lump was only person to say anything about dick size.

TomF got it right. Hart would refer to people in the KIRO chatroom by name, usually to chide them for some comment, and the people listening in their cars would probably wonder what the hell she was talking about. Her 0.0 rating comes as no surprise when you consider some of her her callers and guests, like the obese Martha G. Listening to Erin and Bertha....I mean, Martha.....discuss issues was like listening to neighborhood busybodies gossiping at the backyard fence.

Andrew sez, "Achhhemm, Lump was only person to say anything about dick size."

Andrew, there are some days when you're too stupid to even be a moron.
Go back in the corner and braid the hair in your palm.
