Horace Greeley

Interesting that the gent who loves to reach for the L word gets caught in his own (pardon the pun) web.

I guess the old saying is right: It takes one to know one . . .

Curious George

Aren't mugshots public property?

Please, someone, post a mug! Blathering Michael, how 'bout a reward or something? A case of Rockstar? I'm in for 49cents. Betcha'd have one by tomorrow afternoon.

And to the newsrooms at 710KIRO and 570KVI, blatherwatch scooped ya again. Aren't you ashamed???

Hey, did you ever think that maybe The Seattle Times was never TOLD about Mike Webb until Wednesday or after hours on Tuesday?

Ponder this.

You've been reporting this since Tuesday, right? Well, if the reporter didn't get tipped off until after business hours closed on Tuesday, there would be no official person to confirm the information. Or if the reporter did find out Tuesday, maybe she was waiting for confirmation, court paperwork or what have you. A lot of court clertks don't even file documents until the end of the day and such court papers aren't available until the next day.

So then the reporter doesn't want to print inaccurate information for Wednesday's paper -- since a morning newspaper has an early evening deadline. So then the reporter works all day on it Wednesday, gets the facts straight and turns it in on deadline for Thursday morning's paper.

And you report that the newspaper FINALLY reports on it? It's a process. Unlike blogs where folks can just post something and then immediately correct it if you're wrong, newspapers have to make sure they get the official word and have to be careful about reporting inuendo and rumor.

Blogs have their place. And your job and what you do is appreciated but newspapers also have their place. It would make sense to start pondering conspiracy on the mainstream media if nothing was reported until late next week or something. But two days? Not a big conspiracy.

If you want to check up on facts yourself and not trust everything that is reported on a blog, you would have found public documents available ONLINE on Webb have been available for at least a week or more. Which means to me, that both papers were not on the ball doing routine court records checks to see if anything was newsworthy - OR - they did and chose to sit on it. Either way, this blog gets justifiable credit for the scoop.

Mike Barer

You make it sound like Geov Parish is a Liberal Hack, but reading his blog, I find that that is far from the truth. Parish attacks both sides including Jim McDermott and Patty Murray.

Is he still in jail? I can't WAIT to hear his show after he gets out -- if he still has a job at KIRO.

Mike Barer

According to yesterday's Seattle Times, Mr Webb no longer has a program on KIRO. Maybe Air America can pick him up.

I dont think Mike is a good fit for AAmerica. Just like Erin Hart thinks she could move to the big time, Mike and Erin are LOCAL talent..listen to national talk show hosts, on both sides of the spectrum, and ask yourself if our local yokels measure up. Its one reason why Dori, though disgusting, is so successful. He knows he is a local big fish in a little pond, and he takes advantage of it.
