  • The Reagan Wing

Doug Parris runs this red-meat social conservative group site which bars no holds when it comes to saying who they are and who they're not; what they believe and what they don't; who their friends are and where the rest of the Republicans can go. Well-written, and flaming.

I can imagine if I was a host for KIRO, before I'd leave for work in the morning I'd check their website to see if I should show up or not. I think there are pretty good odds Mike Webb does just that.

It's also interesting how the KIRO management reveals their regard for the hosts in the way they fire them and in the way present and schedule them.

Frank Shiers and New York Vinnie were always called to fill in when a host was sick but whereas New York Vinnie got a show with his name on it Frank Shiers is getting totaly dicked around. I wonder what hour in the morning he gets a call to see if he's working that day. I wonder if he gets anxious waiting for that call. That can't be good for a person's heart.

When Allen Prell was fired it was like a minute or two after his show ended whereas Tony Ventrella was told before his show started.

I feel bad for those guys because they seem to realy need the work because if you saw your coworkers treated this way anywhere else you would have to quit and tell the boss to fuck off.

They present people like Allen Prell to us for three hours a day five days a week so you get realy used to them the same way you get used to any friend, and they are professional one way communicators after all, then they are suddenly taken off the air as if Sadam's secret police suddenly burst in and shot your friend in the back where they sat right there infront of the microphone. They were there just a minute ago, but now they are gone, probably forever. Then you look at their website to see what's happening and they erace reference to your friend as if they were a mistake that never should have happened in the first place.

Interesting that KNBQ was mentioned
which used to be KMNT based out of Centralia/Chehalis is reaching into the Seattle/Tacoma market(new 70k transmitter on Capitol Pk) by using former 1980's call letters. The KMNT call letters have been resurected into still, another Lewis Co country station on another freq. I think the Woof 100.7 was a day late changing formats.

I think Andrew's got a pretty solid sense of the routine, good analysis.

I take issue with one thing, this Heslet is a sales manager, not a radio professional.

Frank Shiers' #1 fan EVAH EVAH

HAHA..sclub knows whazzup wit dat!

Perhaps a little tangential but . . . I"m sick of ads! Dave Ross can hardly get a sentence out without having to go to traffic reports, ads and god only knows whatever else they use to make a buck. I know ads pay the bills, but don't you all get sick and tired of the ads? How much money to they all need to make! I listen to less radio than I used to becaue I can't take it anymore! Guess they don't miss me. (LOL)

Okay, I got that off my chest.

A little hope in Heslet's letter: NYV might history soon! God, I hope so!

...

Dude you've got balls as big as church bells posting those numbers in the open! Get a lawyer - SOON
