Ace blatherwatcher, Lazy Murrow (Edward R. Murrow’s lesser brother) makes a great point in his comments today.
Why don’t talk hosts, so gung-ho for this grubby war, go to bat for military enlistment?
Despite that the MSM has relegated it to page 2, this increasingly bloody war is unpopular and enlistment is down to levels rivaling those of hernia transplant donors.
But you’ll never hear that on patriotically correct, thanks-for-your-service talk radio--where it’s Good Morning in America, the Shining City on the Hill where Everything is Beautiful, and no Americans died, today (just 77 Iraqis).
Lazy writes:
Recruitment levels are dismal right now, and KVI and KTTH have an entire audience of Bush supporters eating right out of their hands. Now's the time to spring into action and urge them all to line up, sign up, and help out the cause.
The neocon right and the Bush Administration, for all their bloviation about duty and honor and responsibility never ask the American people to sacrifice anything for their dubious 49-51% policies.
They prefer to numb the populace with have-a-nice-day misinformation, denial, and changing the subject with so-called issues like gay marriage and Terri Schiavo.
As Lazy asks,
Where are our pundits (or ‘pundants,’ as Sean Hannity would say) when America needs them the most?
