For a variety of reasons, the past month has been pretty slow in the food department. Not much to write home about. Even the cat stopped eating for awhile. But we have strawberry plants forming fruit, flowers on the pea vines, sprouts of many types of greens, and blossoms on the tomatoes. Plenty of pie cherries out of reach, and the prune plum tree is loaded with green fruit.
Restaurant eating division did include a brunch at Rover's - the "chef in the hat" was in NY and his pastry chef was absent as well. Best they could muster was a piece of coffee cake with some writing on the plate for our "occasion". We also had a good dinner at Tilikum Place Cafe with friends, marred by the table of 15 having their own good time. Nice place, loud enough to hurt our ears and curtail conversation. A couple of basic Chinese meals and a couple of failures in the African food division.
I am so impressed with all the local bloggers and their books! One even made it into today's NY Times Book Review. And now, they all use Twitter instead of keeping their blogs current.
