Will Rush Limbaugh save KVI?

RUSH2077 Negotiations should be wrapped up this Friday (July 10) between Bonneville International, Fisher Communications and Rush Limbaugh. Then the suits, and we hope everybody will know: will Big Pants leave Bonneville's KTTH to jump back to Fisher's KVI?

KVI is hopeful and their very existence as an AM talker in Seattle may depend on it. It's a long shot for sure, but what KVI has going for it is the precipitous drop in the new PPM ratings of KTTH ... even anchored as it is by the Big Fat Genius.

Al franken, part one: the senator from talk radio

Image612210g Sean Hannity, hearing the news that Al Franken was the new junior senator from Minnesota, called him a "liar and a lunatic." Michelle Malkin described him as "an angry, unstable man."

Expect that to continue being the right-wing media meme about Franken- It's uttered, even by respectable conservatives, too. Like former Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson who called him, "The Vulgarian at the Gate," writing that Franken's election would "actively push our culture toward vulgarity and viciousness."

Brian jennings' talk radio book is less than some of its parts

37392536It's an inconsequential book. There's no new information, and it neither asks new questions; nor anything of its readers. (Plus, there are no pictures,  always a disappointment in a geezerly book about radio).

It's Censorship, The Threat to Silence Talk Radio by Brian Jennings and we waited until we could get it new at Amazon for $5.52. (Advice: don't pay retail for this dog!)

Talk radio bail-out: seething gays! special rights! penis black market for marriage-crazed lesbians!

Gay obama Yea! President Obama came through today with his promised talk radio bailout by injecting gay sex into the national conversation and saved producers and talk hosts from the worst summer topic recession since the 1992 Summer of Love.

He announced some damn thing about benefits to partners of gay federal employees. The industry hopes this example of the President's "obsession with gays" will light up the lines with long time listeners, and first time callers.

The story linda thomas left out...

Dittohead_cropped Linda Thomas, the honey-voiced KIROFM fill-in newsie whose work we've often admired, wrote a happy-face reader blog post about Seattle conservative talk radio host at Seattlepi.com

(photo: dittohead in "listening position.")

Her blog, News Chick is not journalism but rather for branding purposes and to promote her radio work. The self-promotion here, is in the form of a breezy, well-written, journalistic feature.

Limbaugh: sotomayor is a racist and I hope she fails

He did it again, he served himself, leaving nothing on the platter but bitter scraps for starving Republicans desperate to rebuild national face... not to mention live and do business in a post-Obama landscape.

Turning out the sexist vote

The right-wing scheisse generators have no problem turning to knuckle-dragging sexism to do their demonization of Nancy Pelosi, whom they're trashing because they're afraid of PresidentNancy-pelosi-syria Obama's popularity.

The latest is the GOP video that juxtaposes 69-year-old Madame Speaker to Pussy Galore, the amply endowed villainess from James Bond's Goldfinger.

Politico:

The wisdom of equating the first woman speaker of the House with a character whose first name also happens to be among

Eating their own... michael savage: 'rush limbaugh is a fraud.'

They eat their own -- why do we find it delicious? Because it's yummy, that's why!
SAVAGE: And yet here in America, I've had some people come to my aid. They see the bigger picture. They're not like O'Reilly; they're not like Limbaugh, who's the biggest disappointment of all. Limbaugh has turned out to be the biggest phony of all of them, all of them. Amongst all of them, he is the biggest fraud. Rush Limbaugh is a fraud. When he was accused of the drug usage, I supported him. But that man is a one-way street. It's all about him. He's in it for nobody but himself.

Help keep jay severin off the air for good

Severin Mark Garfinkel A glorious Cinco de Mayo to you. It's a great day because it's a Mexican holiday marked by the drinking of tequila cocktails but marred by that it's another day that WTKK in Boston has not fired their violence-stoking white supremacist talk host Jay Severin.
