Rush and sarah palin agree: romney is "obama's candidate of choice"

We love this: Rush Limbaugh concurred with Palin on the radio Monday:

There is a story on the Drudge Report today from Sarah Palin in which Sarah Palin says that the White House wants Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee. Now, not only did I tell you that the Broncos were gonna beat the Steelers, for months I have been telling you that the Democrats want Romney — and you all know it. You’ve been listening here and you’ve heard people call me and tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about, that I’m full of it, that they’re scared of Romney. “Romney is the only guy who can win.” And I have said, “No,” and I’ve stood tough, and I’ve said, “They can’t wait for him. What’s Occupy Wall Street all about but running against Romney? He’s the Wall Street guy on our roster — and then Romneycare,” and I’ve laid it all out. So here comes Palin, she says it, and makes news.

He, she are full of shit, of course. The White House has long known Romney is the most formidable candidate (with independents) the GOP's got... he's deeply flawed, but he's not as baggage-burdened as some or out in the deep inner space of the right-wing fringes as the others.

Not sure who Palin & Rush will endorse, but at the moment it's anyone but Romney (author's note: hee-hee).

Greta Van Susteren (one of the nice ones at FNC) is having a full-on shit-fit over the Daily Caller owner Tucker Carlson's prominently posting of a story with the headline: “Mike Tyson: Sarah Palin met the ‘womb shifter.’”

She's calling her old friend a “pig” and “purveyor of smut.”

Rove/maddow consensus: palin will run

It's counter-intuitive and a little amazing: Karl Rove and Rachel Maddow agree: Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012.

Rachel tweeted last week: “Why is it political common wisdom that Gov Palin is not running? What’s her new Iowa ad for, if not for a campaign?” Rachel has voiced her view that Palin's not out several other times on-air and otherwise.

And political maestro and GOP money-mover Rove claimed on Fox News Saturday that Palin “has a schedule next week that looks like that of a candidate, not a celebrity.” On Fox News Sunday, he referred to the slick, expensively produced video recently released by Palin‘s Political Action Committee, events in Iowa next week as evidence that Palin woud be soon jumping in. No telling what he mioght say on Fox News Monday...

So whaddya do if God calls and tells you to run for president? YOU OFF GET YOUR FAT BUTT AND RUN! Right?

But what if you find out God's calling a whole bunch of other people???

It happened again, Sunday:

“I’m not ready to tell you that I’m ready to announce that I’m in,” Gov. Rick Perry told The Des Moines Register. “But I’m getting more and more comfortable every day that this is what I’ve been called to do. This is what America needs.” [emphasis ours]

(Perry, who has suggested Texas secede if Obama's health care plan passed, has proclaimed Aug. 6 a prayer-in and day of fasting for seeking God’s guidance and wisdom in his political decisions. To help him out, he invited a collection of wackadoo Christian fundamentalists, who among them claim Oprah is a forerunner of the antichrist, homosexuality is an Illuminati conspiracy, President Obama should be violently overthrown, the Statue of Liberty is a "demonic idol," and those mysterious bird deaths earlier this year in Arkansas were caiused by the repeal of DADT).

But, but, but we were almost positive God had already called Rick Santorum. And Sarah Palin. And Michele Bachmann, the most recent to say she entered presidential race after taking a call from the Almighty:

"Well, every decision that I make, I pray about, as does my husband, and I can tell you, yes, I've had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do," Bachmann said.

That wasn't the first Godly Ringy-ding for Bachmann. He rang her up in 2006:

"God then called me to run for the United States Congress. And I thought, what in the world would that be for? And my husband said, "You need to do this." Gotta say it- the Lord's been a little flirty and fickle with all these calls. If we were Republicans and Christians, we wouldn't know who He's really for. (Maybe Obama??)

It's pretty confusing, but maybe we'd take heart from one call Rick Perry has heard loud & clear: It's from Messenger of God, conservative thinker, and kingmaker Ted Nugent.

If you can't be sure if God's endorsing you, it might be helpful to have Ted: he's armed and he can field dress a squirrel, two qualities any GOP campaign should possess in 2012.

Remember Sarah Palin? She was the go-to reset button for the tea-party movement before Michele Bachmann came switching her ass around I-o-way, and the lamestream media.

(And oh yeah... Palin's the one who lost for the GOP in 2008 with her dingbellishness and quit the Alaska governorship after half a term).

Her new bought and paid-for movie, the creatively mis-titled, The Undefeated, was supposed to reset her own sunken image and perhaps raise her miserable poll numbers among such important voters as independents and... Republicans.

The right throws everything at obama... his approval numbers stay the same

Eric Boehlert at Media Matters makes a great point after Michael Medved's WSJ op-ed last week: the right's far-fetched, conspiritorial lies about Obama are not only dangerous for Republicans, they haven't worked!

Just look at Obama's job approval rating. It has remained essentially unchanged for the last 18 months. Think about that. Palin and Limbaugh and Glenn Beck have thrown the kitchen sink, the bathroom sink and the basement sink at Obama with their he's-trying-to-destroy-America shtick for going on two years now. And the collective public response? A shrug of the shoulders.

Bet Rush's new obsession: that Michelle Obama is fat and eats junk food despite her campaign against obesity won't be doing Republicans any good with independent voters, either.

If they didn't tune out Rush Limbaugh years ago.

Back home after doing 60 days. I swear, I didn't know there was weed in the glove compartment. Anyways, I'm reloaded and have your radio queries in my cross-hairs:

Dear Billy: Most sports play-by-play types have a signature catch-phrase. You know, like Dave Niehaus and his "My Oh My." But last weekend when Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch made the greatest run in the history of Seattle football, Seahawks play-by-play guy Steve Raible capped his call with the phrase, "Oh, My Word."  KIRO replayed the call dozens of times, but I've noticed now they've edited out the 'Oh My Word.' Maybe it was a little too embarrassing. Anyway, I'd like Blatherwatch readers to start a list of possible suggestions for Mr. Raible, so next time Seahawks have a huge play he has something a little better to say. Any thoughts? Dear Fan: How about "Gee Willikers" or "My Stars."  Or the always popular, "Pass me the bong, Warren."

Dear Billy:  On the Tuesday afternoon after the horrible shooting in Tucson, I heard something really weird on KIRO-FM. Jessica Gottesman started off her newscast talking about the parents of the young man who did the shooting. She referred to them as "Mommy and Daddy." I think her exact words were "Mommy and Daddy don't know what caused their son to do the shooting." Her voice seemed to be dripping with sarcasm and I could only interpret it as some sort of criticism of the parents. It just struck me as beyond odd. Why would a news anchor, at a time when no one knows anything about the parents, refer to them as "Mommy and Daddy?" If she thinks the parents should be blamed, why doesn't she just say it instead of hiding behind a thinly veiled insult?  And if she really is blaming the parents, I pray that her kids turn out perfect. Honestly, it was the most vile, sanctimonious cheap shot I've ever heard on any newscast. Signed, Angry Mom in Edmonds

She's either pitching supplements or giving me an eco-minute tip on her compostable paper coffee cups or telling me she ate too much over the holidays. Don't they have anyone else at that station? Dear Billy: Kevin Colabro has become the best talk-host on Seattle radio, in my opinion. When 710 ESPN first started, I didn't think much of him, but he has really settled into a nice rhythm and is doing a great show. The guy is very sports-smart, and not just about basketball. He is really displaying his football knowledge. He's witty and funny and really brings out the best in his guests and co-hosts. He makes Jim Moore sound better. When John Clayton is on, he makes Clayton sound better.  This week, he had on Brock Huard and he made Huard sound much better than he sounds when he's teamed up with someone else on his own show. A lot of the sports talk on Seattle radio sounds like it's aimed at 8th graders. Colabro is smart but still very entertaining. Signed, Sports Fan in Seattle

Dear Billy: I really wish all the lib-talkers on KPTK would get off Sarah Palin's Ass. Sarah Palin didn't shoot anyone. Sarah Palin didn't write that speech. She didn't come up with the term "blood libel." Even now, she probably doesn't know what it means. Sarah Palin didn't put cross-hairs on that map. Sarah Palin, even now, probably couldn't name half of the members of congress who were 'targeted' on that map. She is simply a vapid puppet whose strings are being pulled by right-wing operatives who are using her to push their agenda. She is making millions in the process. But she is only a figure-head and has no control over her organization. Even if she wanted to have control, she's just not smart enough to do so. If not for John McCain, Sarah Palin would be fucking up something else in Alaska and hardly anyone would know anything about her. Signed, Old Coot in Carnation.
