Hillary: 'I'd Love To Talk To Rush'

Hillary_2 Pushing on the Obama "wimp factor," Hillary Clinton phoned into a Charlotte NC talk show Monday and told the talk jock, "I'd love to talk to Rush... what do you think?"

We'd love to hear that one. Hillary's "interview" last week with Billo Reilly was a dream come true --especially for him; he hasn't stopped strutting and crowing about it ever since.

She stood up to him and didn't pander to him, unlike Obama's vanilla pudding showing on Fox News Sunday.

Meanwhile, Barack acts aloof and professorial; He's trying to run out the clock- a strategy that's working for him in these interminable primaries.

(We liberals love a sociology prof; someone who can answer a question in long, nuanced, and broadRushlimbaugh anthropological terms. We aspired to be one at one time since soc-anthro profs seemed to be getting laid more than anybody. Barack, meantimes should practice so when someone asks him a dumb question about wearing a flag pin, he doesn't choke up and deliver a hesitant and nearly incomprehensible treatise when he should dispatch the questioner in a few sentences).

Talk radio: do you have the stones to admit you were punked?

20generals_span1Can right-wing tools like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Dori Monson, Michael Medved, Glenn Beck even acknowledge that their so-called war coverage and commentary has been so severely compromised?

What are we talking about?

Sunday's New York Times took a little of the complex out of the military-industrial complex with David Barstow's lengthy, detailed exposure of how Bush and Rumsfeld's Pentagon used retired generals to serve as "objective" media military analysts while actually carrying administration's rosy interpretations of a failing war effort to talk radio, cable blab-shows and thenews outlets they work for.

(For an interactive overview, click here. Read the whole piece here.)

Even more despicable is how these alleged military heroes we've seen every day since 9-11 on teevee or on the radio have used the influence and access gained by playing in this farce.

These are the fat-assed militarists who accused the rest of us of dispatriotism, cut-and-run mentality, and not supporting the troops. In these documents we see all that patriotically correct self-righteousness is actually a collection of bullet-points they picked up from a Secretary of the Defense losing a war he never should have got into.

Wednesday oddems: cultural warrior to the perves; wife-beating kitty; david gregory and gender equality; incest reality; radio astroturf des canucks; supervising ron & don; are morons a race?

Empty_shirt_wmicrophone~~ Culture Warrior to the perves. We know why we love The O'Reilly Factor. It's for the sex (not the articles). Latest prurient thrills you can't get anywhere else on cable: Tuesday, Billo ran great c-phone shots of a 12-year-old stripper in Dallas stripping. The ensuing discussion included two attorneys, who also happened to be young blonde women. The consensus: 12 is too young to be a stripper. Probably would be illegal to download those pics from the net -- thanks Bill, for indulging our inner pedophile.

~~ An exasperated KIRO staffer who calls himself kissdangerboy wrote to complain that the best-of replays of Too Beautiful to Live (KIRO m-f, 7-10) that replaced David Goldstein on Saturday evenings are butchered screwed up they make no sense. "They were talking," he writes, "about Luke's conversation with Mister T's agent. However, at the first commercial break on the (clearly forced) clock, it was cut off mid-sentence and then again at 7:30 for the bottom of the hour required news update and commercials. After that, the program came back to an entirely different topic!!! Can't [PD Rod] Arquette at least make them edit it to be concise and fit the clock? I mean c'mon, the big national shows do it for their weekend re-treads (ie Sean Hannity Weekend). Not awesome, guys.

Mystery solved: why o'reilly is after the washington post, and other jokes

Billo denounced Washington Post editor Len Downie, Jr. with a vengeance on his teevee show today, accusing the paper of smear attacks and libel. He even put up Downie's picture in the screen with his name under it -- when he does that, you can be sure he's mad.
Billo_kissing_cont1_2
So what else is new, you ask?

This was unusual: he frequently calls the NY Times a far left smear merchant; or rails against the socialist Atlanta Journal-Constitution, or calls out the left-wing goons of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer -- but rarely does he blart about The Post.

When asked about it by a surprised Juan Williams who used to work at The Post, Billo wouldn't say much except that Downie should watch out: because it was rumored that "some Post employees have significant personal situations of their own." And if they don't wise up, he'd unleash the hounds of Fox upon them.

Friday Oddems: OMG!! WTF?? LOL!! the old meniscus, a new case of toilet paper; the spitzer ho-down; $30 dollar hookers; entercom slolly-gusters; DJ no job; dog boots of the stars; bob ney gets an honest job

Youre_here_3 ~~ We're blogging lite over the weekend: We're off for some minor surgery. Not to worry, it's Costco's "Two-fer Weekend." We'll pick up a stitch in the old meniscus; then we get to choose between a vasectomy and a case of Cheerios. First 10 patients get a free vat of guacamole. We'll be there early.

~~ Entercom is really "hep." (always were) Now they've downloaded a horse & buggy onto the "information super highway," by launching a new KNDD-FM/107.7 midday show called Radio Impulse.Dj_nojob Listeners are encouraged to use e-mails and phone text messages to request songs and get responses on whether and when that request will be played! Cool -- wired, yet wireless. Our old (Photo: DJ No Job) friend, market manager Jerry "Swing blade" McKenna, told the P-I's Bill Virgin they're trying "to come up with a midday show that speaks to our audience." Actually, they were just trying to come up with a midday show with two less paychecks: McKenna laid off assistant program director Jim Keller and midday host DJ No Name. Sources say they'll lay off two more people once the FAX machine is fixed.

~~ Why, oh why, dear Lord? would you allow someone to google "picture of guy on toilet seat outside of trailer," and get BlatherWatch?  What hath God rot?

Heavy hundred 2008: local boys make good

Talkers_011It's that time of year when all heads turn toward The Oscars™ to the Heavy Hundred awards where Talkers Magazine, the self-proclaimed "Bible of Talk Radio and the New Talk Media," ranks the "100 most important hosts" every year.

As usual we're underwhelmed.

It's a quirky list; made to promote the magazine's influence in the industry; and to sell syndicators those gnarly full page ads to plump up the fragile egos of those perpetually needy talk hosts. It's dominated by conservatives, naturally.

What are the criteria? You've gotta be working plus, as the august editors always say, their "painstaking compilation" is based on courage, effort, impact, longevity  potential, ratings, recognition, revenue, service, talent and uniqueness.

In other words, they pull it out of their ass.

O'Reilly: Seattle Post-Intelligencer is the nation's worst newspaper; publisher is "beyond pinhead"

Billo_kissing_cont1_2In an honor newspapers around the country are coveting, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly ((KTTH m-f,9-11p) named the dear old Seattle P-1 as the "worst paper in the country" and designated publisher Roger Oglesby a "pinhead."

Oglesby could not be reached for comment, but a P-I source told BlatherWatch, "He'll be going out to lunch on this one for a month!"

The Seattle Times' "Scion Ryan" Blethen is said to be "bummed."

Fox News: porno and censorship; conservatives may rather... prefer rather

20061130loofahbillliarpants1_3 Are conservatives disillusioned with and pissed off at Fox News?

Yes, writes Doug Parris, socially conservative blogger (at The Reagan Wing and an Old School paleoconservative who's always trying to out manipulate the state GOP leadership and sometimes succeeds.

Doug is a crazy conservative. Pragmatism, to him, is a concept most foul-- something lower than say, treason or coprolagnia. Compared to Parrish, Stefan Sharkansky looks like Barbra Streisand (We mean politically, but when Stefan puts on pumps, and a little lipstick, there's a Barbranic physical resemblance as well).

We like Doug Parris, and we think, he likes us. We couldn't say why... it's love for all the wrong reasons. He's a good writer, funny, and a little nasty; he sticks it daily into the eye of the Republican Party. Maybe that's it.

New Hampster oddems: the baby buddha; hemorroidal rage; winnebagel sage; the rancid sacklunch; judy canova lives; phil hendry dies; goldwater/miller in '08

Unclesam1_2 ~ A Romney man. (hat tip to Jesus' General)

~ An invitation to a stalker... It was just strange, said a reader: KIRO fill-in talk host cRaZy! BrYaN sTyBLe! asked listeners to invite him to their New Year's parties if they wanted to add a "radioactive guy" to their celebration. Wouldn't he be a fun addition to any festivity? Sadly, for the pathetic peripatetic, no one thought so. So Bryan on that night of nights emulated the Baby Buddha: "I cry, I sit alone, I sleep."

~ Hemorrhoidal rage: Glenn Beck took some time off from his daily radio and TV talk shows, (KTTH m-f, 6-9a) released a confessional video with an unshaven and bedridden Beck telling a vague but horrible tale about a near fatal hospital stay, a hemorrhoid operation that went "horribly awry;" blood coming out of places blood shouldn’t come out of; and drug effects to the former addict that produced suicidal thoughts. Many were surprised that the snarly little brabbler actually can bleed but the experience as shown on the video seems real. We're hoping all of it will change his heart and he'll become a compassionate liberal and give up the mean schtick that's made him so popular in places like dogfights and Minutemen rallies.

O'Reilly claims big victory in the war on Xmas

Waronchristmascard1_3Victory is at hand.

And we can thank pro-Xmas warrior Bill Reilly for a stunning turnabout from what seemed a dismal uptick in heretical violence, and the near extinction of Christmas in America.

"You're either with Christmas, or you're with the terrorists, Said O'Reilly.

O'Reilly promoted a surge that put 25,000 Baptists, Catholics, and Pentecostals armed with Bibles and baseball bats in public squares, malls, and supermarket parking lots across the nation to counter a "Crush a Crèche," insurgency by hardened atheist forces.

The Big Fat Head congratulated himself, Tuesday, telling a guest, "If I hadn't done the campaign against it, the Forces of Darkness would have won."
