We focus on social justice journalism that links Seattle to the world, including issues and countries often ignored by mainstream media."
Maybe you didn't know it existed, especially as it lay comayose for the last year or so. (We knew it was in trouble when they recently picked up Cliff Mass doing the weather/math ed reports)
It was launched in 2009 by some name-brand P-I reporters as a nonprofit online newspaper venture with help from public broadcasting's KCTS 9.
It closed its doors (or whatever you close when you shutter a website) Friday.
It went up after the March 2009 closing of the nearly 150-year-old Post-Intelligencer newspaper. KCTS initially offered workspace in the station to some 20 laid-off journalists and was, for a while, the station was for a while the PostGlobe's nonprofit fiscal sponsor. allowing KCTS donors to earmark money for the PostGlobe. The site also ran content created with InvestigateWest, another newsgathering operation started by former P-I journalists.
