The party of celebrity. That's all I can attribute it to. I mean, anybody that would wear a picture of the toothy, winsome Sarah on her chest has got to be a celebrity watcher. I'm sure she's got Elvis in her closet as well.
Pathetic. If not the tea baggers, then the T-shirters for sure.
A C-Span played it serious the whole way. Unbelievable.

I watched the speach, I thought it contained a number of un truths. If you had watched the state of the union you would know this. Sarah is a propaganist. I feel if left unchecked and seriously unchalanged these myths will grow to become acecpted truth. watch and learn.

A wonderful SNL Rant by 'Rahm Emmanuel' is f'n brilliant.
love the comment on the Progressives...
funny line about facebook and sarah palin

Darn
looks like Rahm 'never let a good crisis go to waste' Emmanuel may have to let this pass by. Looks like more credibility issues...it will be interesting to see what the 'deniers' on the other side will do.
the market for carbon offsets just took a tumble

and a nice spoof on Fox news courtesy SNL
good humor has an element of truth
Posted by: Puget Sound | February 07, 2010 at 08:55 AM
Agreed - Rahm was reaming out Joanie, Sparkles and the usual suspects as well as Sarah Palin. As I have been saying all along, under no conditions should she be considered a GOP candidate for POTUS in 2012.
Sarah is too emotional and would be a good cheerleader for the Tea Party movement, as she espouses the correct ideals and has some charisma without a teleprompter (she writes notes on her hands from what I read). She has no more experience than the current POTUS did and is not be the best candidate that the GOP could put forward on policies and she is also polarizing.
Posted by: KS | February 07, 2010 at 09:00 AM
"She has no more experience than the current POTUS did "...
The current POTUS already has a year on her and a few more as a senator. The public doesn't trust her quitting her job midway through her term. I blame Bill Kristol.

Where can I get a shirt like that.
Posted by: sparky | February 07, 2010 at 10:57 AM
she's not qualified to move beyond state politics- too much ignorance and smalltown goober mentality. She doesnt even appreciate the fact that she's ignorant and can't compose in her head and then speak proper English sentences. As a bubbly spokeswoman for the anti-intellectual teaparty crowd- perfect
Posted by: Tommy008 | February 07, 2010 at 03:12 PM
And she doesn't Appreciate the fact that just liek Jerry Ford who met his political demise AFTER BEING DEFINED AS A CLOWN AND A BOOB on SNL, she can sell googobs of books to goobers, and prance around on FOXtv but she has already been defined over the past year AND A HALF by the general public, and that definition precludes her from holding high executive/cabinet level office . she thinks shes just the ticket for POTUS 2012 and is planning her run this very moment- her chances are nil and none.

A Palion was interviewed by Chris Wallace on the Fox news Sunday talk show this morning, I pondered: what is she? a potential presidential candidate, a conservative activist, a Tea Party spokesperson, a fellow Fox News contributor? A lot of hats to wear. Fox News had better decide wtf she is, besides another trash-talking ratings magnet.

Waiting to see if main stream news show her reading crib notes off her hand. There is nothing wrong with having to refer to notes, but on her hand??? Tina Fey will have fun with that.

ugh KISS just had their commercial on the Superbowl on CBS, with the loathsome creep, Gene Simmons. Does anyone hate KISS as much as I do? A bunch of no-talent knuckleheads who latched onto that stupid Kabuki gimmick. Simmons was grousing about how KISS hadn't even been nomionated fot the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yet - I'm sure he thought they should have been inducted their first year of eligibility. Gene- i got news. You are never going to be taken into the Hal of Fame unless its as a specator in the audience watching people with actual talent going in. yOURE A Schlemiel fronting a crappy band and the hall nominating committee knows it Moneygrubbing dreck of a band.

It's now known as using a "Wasilla teleprompter"

Tigsnort..that's a good one! I also heard Alaska Palm Pilot.
Posted by: sparky | February 07, 2010 at 08:55 PM
hey Funny and Sad.
Funny:I like the Wasilla Teleprompter line but gotta tell you the Alaska Palm Pilot is pretty damn funny.
Catch the eye roll of Chris Wallace towards the end of the interview.
Sad: For the Dims, she'll roil up the right to get out to vote in massive numbers. As a result you'll have Pres Obama running so hard to get to the middle that I hope he doesn't run over too many of his campaign promises.
Not to worry, we' ll be keeping track of 'em as he continues to promise one thing to the Progressive (is that the label you all settled on or is it back to Liberal?) such as the promise to air the Health Care discussions. Oopps, Pres Obama found out that Big Pharma and Big Insurance doesn't care for sunlight.

James Howard Kuntsler nails it
"Future historians who try to chart the unraveling of the USA's political tapestry might point to two events of the past week. The obvious first one was the Tea Party convention at Nashville. It was held not accidentally at the ridiculous Opryland Hotel and resort in the city's outer suburban asteroid belt, right next to the circumferential freeway, and next door to the defunct (1997) Opryland USA theme park, an attraction based on the cute idea that Tennessee rubes were too dumb to spell the word opera -- so the symbolism was perfect."
Posted by: Coiler | February 08, 2010 at 10:14 AM
James Howard Kunstler actually
Posted by: Coiler | February 08, 2010 at 10:15 AM
Kuntsler didn't nail anything, since he wasn't there and makes a convenient generalization that works for elites with their heads up their cell phones or where the sun don't shine.
Obama will not go very far toward the midddle. He is too much of an ideologue to ever do so as well as a Keynesian economic retard. He will make it look like he is doing that though, then rig it behind the scenes that social engineering, big government progressivism will be snuck into legislation. Just like what he is trying to do with the Republicans - have CSPAN televise health care negotiations to try and incriminate them as the party of no - he'll take no prisoners...
Posted by: KS | February 08, 2010 at 11:13 AM
the spelling was off - it is correctly spelled Kunstler
Posted by: KS | February 08, 2010 at 11:15 AM
"As a result you'll have Pres Obama running so hard to get to the middle that I hope he doesn't run over too many of his campaign promises."
Don't believe that for a minute - he is too much of an ideologue and not to be trusted by what he says.
If the odds are stacked heavily against him come 2012, he may not run again - but instead run for Secretary-General of the UN/closest thing to President of the World.

i just finished reading an excerpt from Race Riot, East St. Louis, 1917 a book which detail the major race riots between and during the World Wars in America. What happened in East St. Louis on July2, 1917 is an example of hwat happens when the low class/ignoramus element of the American population, as represented by the goober in the Palin T-shirt, are pandered to and indulged. Note the racism and incitings to violence as a means of political change featured on many of the placards and T shirts worn and carried by these fools.

Yes, well the teabag party was actually tried out in 1950's France with similar results, posters and slogans with candidates elected who couldn't lead. They were swept out in the next election.

The party of celebrity? Thats the way to raise the bar on hypocrisy Joanie! When compared to the idolizing ignorance of the Obama followers, Palin followers look like David next to Goliath. Furthermore, the forcing of schoolchildren to sing songs of praise for a man instead of our country is pure Marxism and those involved should have been fired immediately. There are many examples of this occurring during the campaign last year. Same is true for forcing schoolchildren to watch the propaganda lie "An Inconvenient Truth". This is why I warn free thinking people to educate their own children and grandchildren rather then leave it all to brainwashed dangerous people like Joanie.

The term progressive is widely misused in political circles today. Here is the definition that I found from answers.com ;
progressivism, in U.S. history, a broadly based reform movement that reached its height early in the 20th cent. In the decades following the Civil War rapid industrialization transformed the United States. A national rail system was completed; agriculture was mechanized; the factory system spread; and cities grew rapidly in size and number. The progressive movement arose as a response to the vast changes brought by industrialization.
This type of progressivism is outdated and when brought up to date, the correct word would be faux progressives. What today's so-called progressives are all about is big government. From now on, I'll refer to them as big government leftists or regressives, because of their desire to apply their ideology to 100 years ago.

Palin will draw the brewing Tea Party movement into the Republican party (The New Republicans) and be running against President Obama in 2012. The rage and anger in our Country is growing, and she can be used to exploit it to maximum advantage to further the Republican/Corporate interests. I hope that the Democratic/Corporate interests are watching and analyzing and not trying to wish it away. We The People are pissed like we have been only a few times before (one of which resulted in our bloodiest war.), and you better be "Anti Establishment" or you will be steamrolled. All this finger pointing is pointless. The Tea Baggers point at the liberals and go screech screech screech, The Liberals point at the Tea baggers and go screech screech screech. Meanwhile, the newly freed Corporate Juggernaut of money will play both "sides" off one another like a fiddle, and make certain The Corportae Agenda (see also The Financial Oligarchy)gets reelected. The thing all Americans have most in common these days is seething rage and the slow insanity that drips from it.

on July2 1917 the whites of East St. Louis, Illinois, the gritty "Hoboken of St. Louis" erupted into a fullblown day of rioting in a successful endeavor to drive all blacks out of their community... white men burned down the black neighborhood homes and shot down blacks as they fled the burning structures, white women stopped streetcars and pulled black women of the cars so they could beat them and stab them with butcher knives. Stalwart white men finished their women's work by jumping up and down on the black womens' stomachs. Gangs of white men grabbed black males and threw them into the Mississippi River, then shot them with rifles as they tried to swim. Those that survived struggled out onto the banks of the river only to be stoned to death by groups of white children........ these folks were perhaps not so different than the Teabaggers of our new decade- ignorant, angry, fearful, racist and resentful, low class rabble.....
Posted by: Tommy008 | February 08, 2010 at 05:17 PM
TOMMY008, the riot you speak of was one many (over twenty) that occured over many years, culminating in the worst year of violence in 1919. That period is far more complex, and widespread than your simple comparison. We TRULY were having race wars, Sir, and the blacks were the bloody victims. Indeed, this was the Black American Holcaust. 600 paid folks at a convention, filling up hotel rooms and restaurant booths, buying Tea Bag and Sarah memoribilia hardly a race war make, Sir. Sounds like your screech screech screech is fear mongering. Try some facts:

TOMMY008: "these folks were perhaps not so different than the Teabaggers of our new decade- ignorant, angry, fearful, racist and resentful, low class rabble." What gross generalizations and stereotypes. Yes, angry (everybody is), fearful, true, perhaps resentful, but "low class rabble," and "ignorant," well that's your opinion. These Tea Bag folks are Citizens, have the same rights and responsibilities as anybody else, and, like us all, do most of the living and struggling and dying around here. Your "better than" attitude is what's ignorant.
Posted by: WILD BILL | February 08, 2010 at 05:38 PM
Your right wild bill I think he is a racist. It's not the first time he's had disparaging remarks about us.

Tom Tancredo was a speaker at the TeaBag party..he suggested that we need to go back to the days when we were able to control who voted, i.e. the "Literacy Tests" that were used for years to suppress the black vote.
Posted by: sparky | February 08, 2010 at 06:24 PM
"BETTER THAN?' well, let's see- i know already, without emergency tutoring, the history of the World Wars , Korean Conflict, The Iraq War, .... can compose and speak cogent, intelligible complete, grammatically correct English sentences....at least in these five instances I'm "better than" your beloved keynote speaker at the Tea Bag Party Convention- Sarah Palin...
Posted by: Tommy008 | February 08, 2010 at 06:39 PM
SPARKY, fear mongering from "The Left," how is your exaggeration that Tancredo wants to return to Jim Crow voting laws any different than the baggers and the death panels. Both are lies. From CNN :"The former congressman from Colorado and 2008 Republican presidential candidate blasted President Obama, saying "people who could not even spell the word 'vote', or say it in English, put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House. His name is Barack Hussein Obama." Tancredo has his usual shopworn ax to grind about English as the national language, and anti-immigrants (see anti hispanic). Nowhere did he say that he wanted a return to Literacy tests to keep Black Americans from voting. YOU surmised this with your your pre conceptions and stereotypes. Left, Right, it's all the same, My Side is Right, Your Side is Wrong. My side is Smart, your side is Stupid. And Rome burns on, and The Financial Oligarchy cakles at the fools below. Sparky, you have a "side" and a "team," too, and your heavy bias is showing just like everybody else.
Posted by: WILD BILL | February 08, 2010 at 06:42 PM
First of all people, its not teabaggers its tea partyers. And if you call them that then your no better than calling a black person a nigger! This queer reference to them is pedestrian at the least and hatefull at best. So you "tolerant libs" should look inside your souls regarding this. Next on the agenda, Tommys' assertion that these citizens expressing their reasonable concerns are somehow comparable to the minority of whites that attacked blacks in East St. Louis in 1919 is deplorable. However, it does illustrate his lack of intelligence. And while on the subject of intelligence, lets compare Sarah Palin to Barrack Hussein Obama and Joe Biden. Just briefly, Obama when not on a telestrator has stated that there are 57 states. Humm... well there are in Islam so perhaps thats what he meant. He pronounces Corps as corpse several times and the leftist state controlled media says absolutely nothing? And on and on there are many more examples of his lack of worldly knowledge. Joe Biden asks his friend Chuck to stand for applause and then realizes that Chuck is paralized in a wheelchair, smart move! He calls 7-11 owners a bunch of Indians and can't recall the name of the movie he thought was the odds on favorite to win the Oscar (Avatar) without Andrea Mitchells help. This clown is a real dolt. Oh, and Sarpkey, literacy tests are not such a bad idea! Only givin in English it would help rid us of idiots like you voting. And thats the way it is. Good night for Tass news.

Now hold on, you guys who paid for the Tea Klux Klan dinner are the biggest suckers out there, you keep showing up to these events, all 50 of you and pretty soon the anti slash and burn media will be laughing at us, those of us who use you poor suckers to promote old ideas like drilling for oil when there is, now wait a minute, let me shift here, the oil leases, I don't care if the government has 68 million acres leased to big oil for development not being used, that's not the point, you're supposed to listen to me because I have the pH D in advanced science and your job is to show up, no, just , hold on, you keep listening to these fools like Tancredo, who by the way used to be a good guy but sold out to the extreme crowd, you should take back the teabag party, well, just hold on, I'm gonna tell you, will you listen to what I'm trying to tell you....you have all these dams on the klamath river, see and they are going away, so, now I'm almost there, heh how can I explain to you when you keep interrupting me, you see, okay, the tea bag party needs to change it's name to something else, but in the, hold on, in the meantime you take the existing rivers and creeks and dam them up see, you dame them up with, tea bags. Pretty clever huh? Well, yes, well hold on, now.I know what you're thinking, ah come on now, you're thinking how can teabags be used to dam up a river? Well I'll tell you, back in the 40's when we still had Chinese working for next to nothing up on the Plumas, well hold on now, they were better off here than in commie china, I know it wasn't communist back then, but me and my dad predicted it would be so we used these chinese and their love of tea to build a dam up on the Plumas river before OSHA or any other wooly headed enviro nazis like that came along, see? So we had a huge dam made of tea bags, completely organic made by packing the bags in like sandbags, well, wait a minute, thats not right. Okay, yes I know, that dam up by Oroville actually is brown and I got the idea by looking at it one day and turned it in to my high school teacher who gave me an F and later went on to educating filthy hippies at UC Berkeley, but that's another story, which is the name of the second, uh wait, yes that's right, my second book of jokes...Yes, I know Karel or whatever his name is has a book out too.
Now you asked about oil, did I mention about using earthquakes for lateral drilling for oil?

Johnson i said "perhaps" i mistrust and fear demogogic rabble rousing meetings and conventions, with ignoramus speakers and role models like Palin. how do you know whether my comparison is farfetched or not. Before July2 1917 i bet most of the rioters in East St. Louis were considered good citizens just like most of the teabaggers are today. The power of mob rabble rousing, which causes mob actions, actions which the indivudual member would never do by themselves, is fearful indeed. ive seen enough irresponsible, hateful and violence- inciting signs and t-shirts among the teabaggers to be concerned what they may do if whipped up into a mob. For every vile, borderline criminal placard there are many silent supporters who agree with the sentiments expressed.
Posted by: Tommy008 | February 08, 2010 at 08:20 PM
The sign didn't say "tea party the liberals." They called themselves tea baggers when they said "tea bag the liberals." People who tea bag are gonna be called "tea baggers." Quit whining.
Why do you people lie so much?
What's there to "contemplate" about an old man dying? Especially after all the "awfulness" you experienced recently?
What drivel.

Really, how phoney of you Sparkles.
Interesting how you chum the waters with the Tancredo 'Litereacy Tests' and attempt to tie him to racist Democratic Policies of the 1950's/60's to prevent AMERICAN citizens from excercising their lawful right to vote. Then you try to act like you are above the fray.
All that is missing is the sock puppetry of Coiler, Tad, et al.
But you knew that.

From the Too F'n Funny File: The Chickens Coming Home too Roost.
"Sen. Chuck Schumer had a tip for the White House Monday - go find a nice cow town to host the 9/11 terror trials.
"My advice to the President is, with a great deal of respect, take New York off your radar screen," the state's senior senator told reporters. "Find another location."
"The most logical place," added Schumer, "is in some isolated military base that is completely far away from population centers and is self-contained."
Schumer's middle-of-nowhere, military-base criteria came a day after President Obama said he has "not ruled out" bringing the trial to Manhattan Federal Court - despite a taxpayer tab estimated at $1 billion over five years."
Hey Senator Schumer, how about a place we call.....GITMO!

No one is going to be paying big bucks for the Moron from Mooseland to mangle the English language for 25 minutes after her "15 minutes" Hula Hoop type craze wears off, which isn't too far off, just about the time they are actually giving away her book or offering free subscriptions to take it off their hands, on Newsmax.com, rather than charging 4.95 for it.
