Dori Monson (KIROFM m-f 12-3p) blames Mayor Greg Nickels and politically-correct Seattleites for the cold blooded, assassination-style Halloween murder of Seattle policeman, Timothy Brenton.
This is the kind of tone deaf opinionifying that's always defined this radio host, but he's dialed it up to 11 since KIRO's ratings went to hell last Spring.
The idea is bouncing around in Seattle’s little right-wing radio echo chamber. It's a familiar meat-wagon the dittohead dogs of Seattle talk radio eagerly set upon, providing them the opportunity to utter the words they’re trained to utter whenever the topics of “libruls” and “crime’ are brought up. (We believe “ACLU” was also mentioned).
Conservative talkers have long made anti-Seattle-ism part of the aural fabric. Few of them (including Dori) actually live in the city, and it's a plump target for the pea-shooters of the radio .
(Monson’s relationship with the City of Seattle is like BlatherWatch’s to him: he never lets an opportunity to shit on its hat).
Dori and some of his cranky listeneers claim that Seattle Police hands are tied under the “Seattle Nice Policy,” community policing, and “Gun-free Zones.” Mayors, starting with Norm Rice, they say, have been more interested in banning plastic grocery bags than keeping us safe. That prevents cops from defending themselves as they sit in their cars.
Dori pawned off the assumption that the murder was gang-related, (read Negro) which connected it with other high profile crimes, and of course, with affirmative action, and BBQ.
Actually, crime - rarely a major problem in Seattle’s history- has declined in recent years, but being outraged about criminals is an oral tradition on Seattle talk radio used for demagoguery against the “progressive liberals.”
(Dave Boze, Dori’s “colleague” on sister station KTTH, resisted the cheap shot and told a listener he couldn’t see a connection between the cop killing and Nickels’politics. The listener claimed the PC police permissiveness began during the infamous World Trade Organization’s demonstrations in 1999, and has been”out of control” ever since).
Dori had these charges up on his blog the day after the crime- with all his 'support the cops' posturing you'd he'd let them at least bury the guy before he starts trying to make ratings hay from this tragic death.

I'm puting my chips on a muslim/middle easterner having done it. People like Dori might assume it was a black gang member because they have a longstanding distrust of police, perhaps rightfully so, but execution isn't their style. Officer Herzog was killed in Newcastle by a black guy wacked out on PCP but that was not a premeditated murder, the crazy motherfucker was naked in the middle of the street and managed too shoot the officer with his own gun.
Just last week we had a middle eastern "honor kill" his own brother for saying his wife was fat or something. And a few years ago some anti-semite muslim shot up the Jewish Federation. That motherfucker drove all the way over from eastern fucking Washington to do it. Premeditation measured by the mile post. I speculate that this incident will have more than less in common with those incedents.

Sure it is dumb to blame Nickels, especially when we know nothing about the motive of the killer. However it is no dumber than when people blamed the pro-gun right for the murder of Tom Wales.

Monson accuseed me the other day of taping his show and trying to bring him down with his controversial statements I find. Well of cours he didn't mention me but he was talkinf about about me and Blatherwatch and probably Hood as well. I'm the guy who last week heard him mock and laugh at Aurora Bridge jumpers, last year exosed his cheering on of a vigilante beatdown gang, and for a couple of years have been exposing his views in favor of the right to legally run "whites only" diners or hotels. No i don't need to tape your show, Dori. I have a good memory and your comments are so asinine they are seared into my memory.

Dori is an ass-hat and you can expect more of this as his ratings continue to plummet.
Posted by: Brian | November 05, 2009 at 08:07 AM
Dori was really crushed with the defeat of I-1033. He really thought he had made a difference this time. Susan Hutchinson is an old friend of his, and he was cheering her on too. Constantine will ignore Dori like polticians have for years, With Susan, he thought he had a chance of becoming relevant again. Turns out she was as phony as he is.
When I moved up here from California 8 years ago, I couldn't believe these Seattle radio jocks ripping their own city.

Dori charged Nickels with murder - yeah right. Blaming Nickels for the conditions that led to murder is different than charging him with murder.
Careless choice of words here, regardless how you feel about him. He's still doing well in the ratings so he may welcome this post to give him a bigger boost.
Posted by: KS | November 05, 2009 at 09:58 AM
He looks like Perry Como on SCTV
Posted by: Coiler | November 05, 2009 at 10:23 AM
Normally I'd agree that setting up conditions is not the same as participating in some unforseen event, but knowing Dori he most likely would accuse flat out Nickels of murder, that's his "thing."
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 11:02 AM
"but knowing Dori" Like you really know Dori, what a BS'er you are. I'm surprised you haven't yet stated that the murderer of the Seattle policeman might be one of the neighbors of the area around where the radio towers were taken down. Isn't that your MO. You are so full of shit that anything out of your mouth is worthless. Now, be a good boy and go fuck yourself.
Posted by: Unionless | November 05, 2009 at 12:27 PM
Just moments ago Dori said the families of the 9-11 vicitms should have relied on life insurance to cover their needs, because of course working in a tall building IS JUST BEGGING to die by hijacked airliner. Dori is an embarrassment to Seattle, a morally tenuous adult and an advocate of victimizers.
I've listened to Dori on and off for six or seven years. A person can't sit behind a microphone three hours a day and hide their true colors day in and day out. If he truely didn't believe his own bread you hear the constant gargling of a person who has vomited up in his own mouth. You can rest assured Dori gets a good eight hours every night.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 12:35 PM
Ignore him as we ignore all harmless vermin. Monson is not worth all this reaction. He is beneath comtemt
Posted by: JackMayne | November 05, 2009 at 12:58 PM
And just what the fuck does comtemt mean there Einstein. You guys are so f'd up its crazy.
Posted by: Unionless | November 05, 2009 at 01:05 PM
I disagree
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 01:38 PM
Monson just now was shaking, shaking in outrage that Obama dared to open his speech before some Indian tribes with a few planned remarks before addressing the Fort Hood shootings. He wa sso upset he had to bring in his Bitch Boy, Phil.
Posted by: Tommy008 | November 05, 2009 at 02:40 PM
DM just looks like a wierd cartoon monster: droopy eyelids, receding hairline and puffed out cheeks. Is this guy healthy?
Posted by: Dave | November 05, 2009 at 02:43 PM
I was sort of thinking the same thing. He eventualy got around to it, but seeing as how Democrats are thought of as anti-military to begin with it's poor judgement to give your detractors such potent amo.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 02:46 PM
"droopy monson"? "the droopster"?
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 02:48 PM
The first words out of Obama's mouth should have been "Before I begin with my prepared comments..." but instead he rattled on for close to a minute about who the fuck knows what. Not bright.
Look chucks, I'm bashing Obama! Look at me go!! woooooo!!!
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 02:52 PM
12 dead and 32 injured. I for one am not concerned with the order in which the president spoke of this issue. Let’s not make this a political matter.
Posted by: artyman | November 05, 2009 at 04:14 PM
AuthenticAndrew, i also agree that the shooter in the central area will not be a gang member. it will also be from a minority person but not necessarily arabic or middle eastern. it is clear to me however that seattle has downplayed its gang problem going back to the days of that freaky police chief patric fitzsimons.
Posted by: Dave (not dave ross) | November 05, 2009 at 05:07 PM
It is not a good time to go into Obama's narcissism. It is time to contemplate the damage done by a deranged man in killing 10 of his fellow soldiers, a civilian police officer and injuring of 32 others.
I fully expect that you, Andy will express your dissatisfaction with Obama on occasion as I did with Bush. We have plenty of time for that.
Posted by: chucks | November 05, 2009 at 05:09 PM
The thing is Dori will not apologize when it's revealed that the killing had nothing to do with gangs. That's why he says the outlandish things he does, because he doesn't have to apologize for anything. If he's wrong he'll pretend it didn't happen. If he's right he'll chortle on for months about how clairvoyant he is, and how he's 100x smarter than city politicians who buy million dollar out houses, but of course he won't run for office because he's like Obi Wan Kanobe, even more powerful as a hologram.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 05:13 PM
chucks, I contemplated it just fine thanks.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 05:15 PM
Dori who?
Posted by: sparky | November 05, 2009 at 06:04 PM
I listened to the reporting following the Dave Ross show. When the dori show broke to the network news, the network announcer said we will break for the president’s presser as soon as it occurs. Then the dori cut the network feed and announced the president’s speech preempting the network. When the prez didn’t make an announcement after the dori cut the network, dori was agitated. Message to dori, speeches aren’t dictated by your significance.
Posted by: Vagabond | November 05, 2009 at 07:02 PM
Gosh durn, don't some of you have anything to do but listen to the radio all day?
Posted by: ryder | November 05, 2009 at 07:14 PM
ryder

Seriously, Monson isn't worth listening to. He's not entertaining ala O'Reilly, or train-wreck-fascinating like Beck. He's just a droopy, sour, angsty wingnut desperate for ratings.
Posted by: Tigsnort | November 05, 2009 at 08:34 PM
Maybe Dorki should address this
Posted by: Coiler | November 05, 2009 at 09:22 PM
I think he would just whine that people were exercising their freedom of speech.
We have really hit bottom as a nation if someone thinks it is appropriate to hold up a banner like that. These people are insane.
Posted by: sparky | November 05, 2009 at 09:30 PM
I am glad to see that Dori is aging worse than I am! Thanks Dori, for making a woman of a certain age feel good about herself.
Heads up on the new talking point: Obama is a narcissist - pass it on. Now every right wing wacko is a psychologist.
P.S.: Dori is a girl's name
Posted by: AprilMayJune | November 05, 2009 at 09:33 PM
Bush wasn't a narcissist?
In truth anyone who runs for president - any political office at all - is a raging narcissist. You have to be to blindly assume that no matter what problem a million people collectively face, YOU are the one most suited to solve that problem.
This is why all politicians are raging douchebags. That's the big secret.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 09:43 PM
Yeah that Abraham Lincoln was a DOUCHE!
Posted by: Tigsnort | November 05, 2009 at 10:03 PM
and George Washington, John Adams, and lets not forget Teddy Roosevelt.
Poor Andrew, a huckleberry to the nth degree...

Look at Susan Hutchisan. This lady was a news reader for however many years and thought this made her a perfect fit to have dominion over the most populace county of the state. The ego you have to have to pull that off. I'm not saying Dow is any less full of himself but hey, he's actualy done this before!
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 05, 2009 at 11:41 PM
That's a lot of death. But chux has more than that on his conscience. Esp. now that our faux wars for control of oil in the Middle East have lasted longer than any other war we've fought.
It is all relative I guess. At least these folk died on home soil.
What a waste. What a country we've become. We are a disaster. Sad.

"Unemployment hit double digits for the first time in 26 years as more than 558,000 lost jobs in October. The jobless rate went from 9.8% to 10.2%, a leap that quadruples the increase from August to September and indicates a rapidly-worsening situation for American workers:
The unemployment rate rose from 9.8 to 10.2 percent in October, and nonfarm payroll employment continued to decline (-190,000), the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The largest job losses over the month were in construction, manufacturing, and retail trade."
You better use the time now to pass that health care, cap and trade, and any other 'reforms' as 2010 elections are going to reverse those Dem gains of 06 and 08.
I wasn't aware of the large oil fields being controlled by Afghanistan.
BTW, Pres Obama ran on Afghanistan being the 'good war.' Those that voted for him should have understood that. Casualties in Afghanistan are increasing and Pres Obama has to decide if he will continue to support 'the good war' and follow the advice of his hand picked general OR reverse course.

The admin never said it wouldn't go above 10%, all recessions have a slower job recovery than wall street does, but you'd never know that listening to the party that was warnedof a looming recession.
March 3, 2008
Bush told reporters: "I don't think we're headed to recession." But when one tried to puncture the denial, mentioning that America's energy analysts were predicting $4 gas, our oil-man president stopped him: "Wait, what did you just say? You're predicting $4-a-gallon gasoline?" No, Mr. President, experts are. "That's interesting. I hadn't heard that."

The incident, although tragic, was not of the magnitude that demanded Obama drop all prepared remarks to t he assembled group, such as 911 would have demanded. The question before him then was the order of the remarks. I think it makes a lot more sense to get the "shoutout"(Monson kept repeating this word, in genuine redfaced ourage) and pleasantries to the group out of the way first. It doesn't make sense to go into a somber, prayerful, and grim mood and then go the shoutouts.
Posted by: Tommy008 | November 06, 2009 at 08:21 AM
Good luck, Coiler. Even when you spell it out, he doesn't get it.
Posted by: joanie | November 06, 2009 at 08:35 AM
funny, i don't see any news about the "controversial" order of remarks by Obama after the shootings at Fort Hood. That's probably because it's a nonissue. It seems the squirrel -faced little man who appears after Dave Ross is the only one talking about this. I do think his redfaced, "I'm shaking" outrage is genuine- it's just nonsensicle.
Posted by: Tommy008 | November 06, 2009 at 08:43 AM
We haven't heard much about John Russell, who was charged with killing 5 people in Iraq this spring.
Posted by: Coiler | November 06, 2009 at 08:51 AM
"This is actually fairly normal, at this stage of a recovery" CBS News economics analyst talking about the 10 % unemployment news. Employment is always a lagging indicator in a recovery. That won't stop the squirrel man and others from trying to mislead people and score cheap political points off of this.

No matter how bad things are and as we watch the economy sink lower and lower in to the abyss, as we watch more and more troops get killed in Shitholeistan, as we watch some deranged moose slime kill a dozen soldiers on our soil, you idiots will continue to make excuses for ObaMao.
As the nation watched with baited breath for Obama to make a statement about the Ft Hood situation, the guy stands up before God and everybody and gives a "shout out" to some Native American medicine man.
Thousands of American military family members are glued to their TeeVee sets, worried about their soldiers at Ft Hood and the Commander in Chief gives a "shout out" to some fucking medicine man.
The guy is a classless man with no sense of decorum and no feelings for "his" troops.
The President needs to pull his head out of his ass and act like a leader.
The Mayor of Seattle has showed more concern and compassion for his troops in their time of need during these trying times at SPD than Obama has for the US Military.
I really just wish that he would choke on a soda cracker and allow Biden to take over. Biden may be an idiot as well, but at least he has dignity and compassion. It does not look like Obama will ever grow in to the empty suit that we thought he could wear.
Posted by: chucks | November 06, 2009 at 10:56 AM
On the news they say the economy is in a state of recovery. Obama is awesome.
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 06, 2009 at 11:38 AM
For their actions on the wars ; Obamao= Bush 43. Seems like its Bush's turn to blame the quagmire in Afghanistan on Obamao - I'm jist messin with ya liberal progressive ostriches.

"The guy is a classless man with no sense of decorum and no feelings"...
"I really just wish that he would choke on a soda cracker "...
You really need a job Chux, isn't your wife getting worried about your decorum?

Jon Stewart's Pitch-Perfect Glenn Beck Impression
Posted by: AuthenticAndrew | November 06, 2009 at 02:29 PM
can't run in 2010 on Glen Beck and Pres Bush.
if the economy stays at that 10 percent unemployment no matter how many faux saved jobs are claimed people will vote with their feet and fire the Dem Party just like they fired the Repub Party.
The Repubs were fired -justifiably so- for corruption and incompetence.
The Dems haven't proven themselves any better other than to have a President that people like personally. But that won't be enough in 2010 if the economy is still in the tank, we are pouring more troops into Afghanistan with no end, and corrupt Dems like Charles Rangel are still running powerful chairmanships like Ways and Means.
Grab some popcorn Chucks, KS, Ryder, Nevets, et al and watch the fur fly as the Left realizes how that wonderful majority was just frittered away.
Oh yeah, anyone still think that Ned Lamont strategy didn't play a part in Joe Lieberman's relish in tormenting Dems?
