Arrested on Thursday, he was released on Saturday after posting $1 million bail.
The subject of thousands of live reads and paid testimonials after he performed the surgery on local talk hosts, Mockovak's name is as familiar as Laura Kiel or Vern Fonk to local radio listeners.
Recipients of the good doctor’s laser treatments were talkers as KTTH’s Dave Boze; former KVI morning host Kirby Wilbur; KIRO’s Don O’Neill; national talker and comedian Adam Corolla; and KVI sales manager Bob Boyd.

Hey, no problem just remember to ask for the other guy when having your lasik surgery done.

That is a career killer right there

Well one thing this proves to me is that just because one is highly educated and quite well off doesn't mean they have any real brains in their head.

Hey, I'm taking that personally, Ryder. At least the highly educated part. I'm still working on the "well off" part. Let's run away to Birch Bay. I've always want to be a run-run-runaway.
Remember that one?

people like this doctor are absolutely terrifying. "A man may smile and smile, and be a villain still." Shakespeare

If you actually listened to Ron & Don instead of taking hit-and-run potshots, you'd know that in his live reads O'Neill said he had his lasik surgery 10 years ago and was NOT a patient of "his good friend" Dr. Mockovak.

Dr. Mockovak posted $1,000,000 bail, but you have to wonder what it must be like living amongst the population in light of this. Can he face his loved ones? What is it like living with freedom knowing it may soon be gone? What must it be like to face many years in prison for a crime that never ended up happening? It must suck to be this man. Maybe he would have been better off just staying in a holding cell. If it were me I think I'd have to eat a bullet like that corrupt politician did in the 90's.

Too bad he wasn't:
1. In business w/ Dori Monson
2. Better at hiring a hitman

AA, he posted the bail but they changed it to 3 million prior to release. Ron and Don had dinner with both doctors who sat side by side just a week earlier and they could see no strain in thier relationship. The doctors are married to sisters and the russian was in a divorce with one of them, most likely causing bad blood in the family. Business was also down and they had laid off doctors and were facing a wrongful termination suit. The russian partner had a 5 million life insurance policy on his victim that he would gain half of.
Congrats to the younger russian IT guy in the company that dr Mockovak turned to to arrange the killings (he wanted a twofer) for going to the FBI, wearing a wire and a camera and documenting this whole sad affair. I thought ron and don spoke with surprising candor as they read the charging papers and were the first to out the names and company of the people involved. The seattle times hid behind some policy in leaving the names out of their first article. of course if you are a minority or someone else they care little about they do out the names of people who are not yet charged, as long as you are not a potential advertiser.

I guess the $999 per eye offer is not available anymore?
Hey Don...nice friends you hang out with!?!
Posted by: Jesse | November 17, 2009 at 07:58 PM
$999 an eye but if you bring in proof of death they'll throw in the other eye free.
