Glennn Beck (KTTH m-f, 6-9a) lost it Wednesday morning on the radio, and for feigned top-blowing and phony wrong-righteousness, you can't beat him.
You can never be sure when Beck is expressing true emotion, though most of the time, it's acting... and bad acting at that. But he must always out-do his last performance- Wednesday, yelling at a listener he was reduced to series of squeaks and sputs, and barks and yelps. "GET OFF MY PHONE! GET OFF MY PHONE!" he screamed, probably blowing his chances again this year for a Peabody.
Glennn Beck is doing well on teevee, and giving Bill O'Reilly some stiff competition on the network. (Billo came back from his Swiss vacation with new energy and a swarm of new facial animations. You could tell somebody had talked him into trying to compete with Beck's popular aping and eye-rolling and mugging. (even though Billo's idea of "facial animations" comes off like rearranging loaves of white bread in a deli case).
Just because his career is zooming in general, he's not doing so well in his old hometown of Seattle. Just about everybody beats him: Stephanie Miller, (KPTK) Kirby Wilbur (KVI) and Ichabod Caine ((KMPS). (hat tip to Craig).

Beck, Hahaha- what a total dorkboy. He must've spent quite a bit of his high school time sticking feet-first out of the hallway garbage cans (hat tip to those upperclassmen, wherever they may be). But ya gotta love the crocodile tears thing he tried to pull off on his tv show. It was so totally pathetic, it actually crossed over into entertainment.

Sir B'lam- thanks for the link from our friends at MM, but I must confess, I couldn't listen to it all the way through. By the time Beck's vocal cords reached supersonic hyperresonance (a frequency so high, only K-9s can hear), I had to end it. It's just too depressing to listen to someone like Beck who suffers from stupidity that severe, and compounded by the obvious fact that his private health plan won't cover his psych meds (Hmmm, pre-existing condition, methinks).
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 12:47 AM
Mr. Beck is living proof of dumbing down conservatism. It is hard to believe that not long ago conservatives screamed the liberals were the culprit to public education dumbing down our children. If there is any truth to that allegation, Beck along with his contemporaries as well as his fans/followers is living proof that the liberal conspiracy worked.
Posted by: Excon | July 16, 2009 at 01:29 AM
Beck speaks to the jethros of the south that still believe the Enquirer headlines about the pitbull that ate an entire mobile home, or Heaven photographed by the Hubble telescope, or that vampires have attacked U.S. troops. Whether they are dumbed down by too many episodes of America's Brain's at Idle, or daily inhalation of exhaust fumes while waiting in the McDonald's drive-thru, it's happened.
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 09:18 AM
Beck and Sen.Sessions look like bleach blond lawn jockeys.
Posted by: Coiler | July 16, 2009 at 09:41 AM
Hmm, we may have found the true source of his "crying" fits then.
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 09:52 AM
Ex-con...that is a real source of frustration...The Right accuses teachers of not providing an excellent education, but let someone run for office that is highly educated, and they attack that person for being uppity. Then they turn around and celebrate illiterates.
Posted by: sparky | July 16, 2009 at 10:00 AM
There is a lot more stuff on the web showcasing Beck's lies and distortions than any other reference to him, which obviously indicates that the web is a lefty pinko tool. This is why that visionary Ted Stevens, when he wasn't envisioning dead-end bridges, saw the need for Big Gum'ment reguulayshun of the Internets. If we'd have followed his advice and sent in troops to guard the Tubes (later turning that responsibility over to Halliburton), America would be safe, and good nutsacks like Beck would be free to stuff the tubes to overflowing with his shit.

Listening to Randi now, she is going to play the whole phone call in the second hour of her show.

Thanks, I'll check it out too.

The caller accused Beck of not caring about trillions of dollars in government bailouts? That's like saying Rosie O'Donnell does not care about food.
Posted by: mrogi | July 16, 2009 at 01:25 PM
Yes, mr ogi, she was wrong about that. But the topic was healthcare reform, and Beck was the definition of condescending and patronizing with her, which doesn't make for a good debate. Beck doesn't want the "sick care" program changed in America for several reasons: 1) because he doesn't want any of his money going to help the poor or underinsured. He would rather keep it in his pocket, even if it means more will die (he did say that, on the air). 2) healthcare reform in the fashion of universal, single-payer, or public-private option is an agenda of the left, therefore, it's evil and he cannot support it. He would rather that millions of his fellow citzens are priced out of access to helathcare. As mentioned earlier, he's quite OK with that. 3) It's an Obama agenda, and he's worried that this plan may actually work, which would make Obama look pretty good (he's mentioned several times publically that he also wants Obama to fail). 4) Being the con that he is, he does what the party tells him too, and his party (the party of Bill Frist and Rick Scott) have made billions from people like you, while denying care and services (if you don't want rationing, then why have you been living under a private rationing system since the 70s?). Arguably, there are democrats that are taking money from the healthcare industries too, and we need to replace them.
As for the Rosie comment, I thought the caller's comments were like saying Limbaugh doesn't like illegal drugs and weekend trips to the sex trade capital of Dominican Republic. Or that Mark Sanford doesn't like a healthy hike on the Appalachian Trail (in Buenos Aries), or the that Larry Craig doesn't like public restroom sex (until the badges come out), or that Mark Foley doesn't like preying on his congressioanl pages (until the world saw his text messages), or that Sen. Ensign doesn't like sex with the wife of a staff member (Hey, did ya get my check for $93,000 baby?)
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 01:53 PM
Yes...and John Edwards too, eh Drew?
Posted by: Duffman | July 16, 2009 at 02:35 PM
Beck has the moral integrity to face the cold hard truth that liberals refuse to address. Healthcare is not a universal right. Drunken street derelicts are not entitled to liver transplants at taxpayer expense.
Posted by: mrogi | July 16, 2009 at 02:51 PM
I think Drew unraveled an exhausted fallacy of the right used to fool the gullible then punctuated it with pugnacious satire of Ogi’s musing.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 02:53 PM
It's an Obama agenda, and he's worried that this plan may actually work......
VA
Medicare
Native American Healthcare
Why dont those programs work? They have been around a long time with plenty of time to fix them, yet they remain broken depsite billions being pumped in to their budgets.
Would you expect any thing different with socialised medicine on a much larger scale?
I would propose that fixing the above programs would provide erksel a solid foundation to then pursue his socialised medicine.
Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 02:57 PM
Yeh Odie, I would want those systems to work as good as the health care our legislators’ receive how about you?
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 03:05 PM
Yes, I think that whatever health care Congress passes for we mere mortals, they should have to have for their own care as well.
Beck lost his noogies when the caller asked him what he would propose to be a better solution. Of course, he could not answer, thus the fake outrage. Im sorry that Keith and Rachel will cover this tonight..he doesn't deserve all the free publicity.
Beck= moral integrity? Now there is an oxymoron for ya.
And Drew....that was MOMMY and DADDY's 93K....!! Best part of the whole story, in my opinion!
Posted by: sparky | July 16, 2009 at 03:23 PM
M Steele;
Sounds good but we common swine will never rate the healthcare the elected receive.
You think the alcoholic, murdering, excellent swimmer from MA would elect to be receiving healthcare under his proposed system rather than what he can afford? Never happen.
Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 03:47 PM
That is exactly why we need to raise hell Odie. Call your legislator. Let them know you are paying close attention to them. Don’t let the lobbyist have their way.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 04:01 PM
I have contacted my socialist representative and shared my opinion in a gentlemanly manner to no avail I fear.
Some prophetic quotes from Tom Jefferson:
When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe, we shall become as corrupt as Europe
Thomas Jefferson
The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.
Thomas Jefferson
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.
Thomas Jefferson
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
Thomas Jefferson
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Thomas Jefferson
No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.
Thomas Jefferson
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson
In light of the present financial crisis, it's interesting to read what Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
Banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Odie, this eRumor has been making the rounds for a while. As a matter of fact I received it as,
“WE NEED JEFFERSON BACK!”
“Thomas Jefferson - Words of Wisdom”
I looked up the quotes and found some but not all in the Jefferson Cyclopedia. The quotes I found had more context and gave me more incite. The last one that you are fond of wasn’t a quote I found. Most researchers credit the quote to an early 1900’s news paper editor trying to make a political point.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 05:04 PM
Perhaps-I didnt snopes or fact check.
Whaeather Jefferson or Al Franken said them-they are spot on.
Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 05:11 PM
Sparky- Yes, you're right, it was the juiciest part of the whole story! Thanks.
Yes, Duff, Edwards too. But Edwards was a Democrat, and my point (which is inescapable for you) is that the party of family values takes care of it's family's scandals, either by some religious interaction ("C" Street??), or by a sudden rehab intervention (Apparently, Foley isn't a pedophile- he's an alcoholic, and a few weeks sunbathing at some ClubMed spin dry facility will make all things right again (doesn't do a thing for his victims though).
Od mentions the VA, Medicare, and Native American Health, but because those programs do not cover everyone, the people with the power to address these areas aren't too worried about it. But if you had the entire nation under a single program, there isn't a single demographic to complain about their poor service- you have EVERYBODY. And since we cannot elect these greedy pigs that run the HMOs and pharmaceutical corporations, they will continue to screw you and me, and you and I will continue to have no say in their operation. At least with a government program, you have the say at the ballot box, as well as in the media and public forums.
And Od, you are wrong about Senator Kennedy. He took several hundred thousand dollars of his own money to bring the best neurosurgeon and neuro-oncologist to MA, because the insurance provider he has under his insurance plan wasn't going to cover it. He very rich, and he can afford it. Under private, for profit insurance plans now in place for regular folks, many illnesses of this magnitude are not even covered. Under a universal plan, they are.
I just talked to a guy with dual U.S./Canadian citizenship. He likes this country, but he wasn't going to give up his single-payer plan from BC, which has no deductibles, no co-pays, and every procedure that a doctor orders is paid for, and they pay les for their care than we do, by about 55%.
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 05:11 PM
M.S: Jefferson appeared to me to be a very industrious human being. I toured his house (a few years ago) and was amazed at all the innovative ideas he had and tried to expound on. Even his slaves' quarters were not too shabby and certainaly accommodated a 'family' of the time. I was impressed
Posted by: Duffman | July 16, 2009 at 05:14 PM
Well said Drew...appreciate it; I don't think either political party has the edge on corruption, immoral actions or lying; pretty sad isn't it. [smile]
Posted by: Duffman | July 16, 2009 at 05:22 PM
Odie, not Snopes.
"Jeffersonian Cyclopedia" published in 1900 by Funk and Wagnalls and edited by John P. Foley.
The key is the book was published and edited in 1900. No current Snopes, Democrat, or Republican intervention.

One of the best reads I have is the book, What Would Jefferson Do? It's great.

Posted by: Excon | July 16, 2009 at 05:53 PM
Drew da man,
I think to quote someone, context would mean more that content.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 05:54 PM
Wait a minute, Steele! If that were true, how are the ad men who buy the tv airtime going to manage that? I mean, you're talking about putting whole quotes up on the screen for voters to dissmeminate, and you completely kill the ruthless Partial Sound Bite Department, which is an industry in itself every two years. If your idea catches on, the ghostly overlaying of photoshopped images of Osama bin Laden behind political hopefuls will have to end, forcing thousands into some line of work more honest. Is this the kind of America you want?
(rhetorical question, I know)
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 06:05 PM
Geeez, it's now being disclosed that several of Sen. Ensign's playtime activities took place at the "C" Street apartment, the same place where they had GOP Vacation Bible School for Ensign.

You know Drew, I had to think about that one.
I hope you are watching Rachel, she’s exposing ol’ Pat.

The de facto political head of the KKK, Pat Buchanan, is on Rachel's show, and she is putting him back in his tiny little racist box.

M. Steele:
I found every quote except the last about the banks at Brainyquotes.com
Drew said:

You made my point dude. Erksels plan wont cover all of the needs either. They cant even cover the three programs I first mentioned yet you demand something similiar. Hellloooooo. If you have the money and need healthcare you are going to buy what you can to overcome the debilitating effects of the malady. Ask the Canucks. Socialised medicine is a joke and for those that have it many are trying to get away from it.

Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 06:28 PM
Come on Odie, Brainyquotes.com? And you were inquiring if I was using Snopes.
And as far as your url…
I don’t mind looking at this but I do know the domain “city-journal.org” is owned by “Manhattan Institute for Policy Research” a conservative, market-oriented think tank established in New York City in 1978.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 06:30 PM
So the sources are not reliable in your judgement? Do you dispute the quotes?
No I did not inquire if you used Snopes or Fact check-I said I didnt check them before I posted the Jefferson quotes.
C'mon M, you can comprehend better unless you are a Seattle School District veteran. If so, I grant you an alibi.
Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 06:42 PM
Ods, your site referencing the problems with Canadian healthcare is another site promoted by conservatives here in the States that want the current healthcare mess to stay in its discriminatory form. I don't know who Erksal is, so I haven't seen his plan. But I know that if you are this afraid of changing the status quo that you will not dig a little deeper for your research, you might as well go to work lobbying for Cigna or Blue Shield. Clearly some of you cons are so beaten down by the insurance companies and pharma giants that have been screwing you all these years, you're starting to believe it's love. As I stated above, I talk to the people who get the service in the countries in question, and all of their stories seem to greatly contradict what you offer up on your links.
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 06:43 PM
Yes Odie, I do dispute the quotes. Or at least half of them, I checked the “Jefferson Cyclopedia” it is a book of quotes of Jefferson’s quotes. The book was compiled and edited in 1900 by Funk and Wagnalls and edited by John P. Foley. You can pick up a copy and you local book store. If I hazard a guess, it may be digitized at the library of congress.
Also; I don’t get the thrust of the article. “Erbitux is standard treatment, covered by insurance companies—in the United States”. So if this is true what the heck does her plight in Canada, sad as it is, have to do with the FDA approval of medication in the United States?
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 06:54 PM

I was in Calgary last week M. Talked to a few Canucks and email with a few. I will go with what they tell me of their healthcare system.
I would suggest you have dug no deeper than me on healthcare. Who is denied healthcare in the country?
So if I read a con article and you read dim articles we have a stand off. So it goes.
Erksels plan-the CBO says we cant afford it. Blue dogs dims are baying like mofos. Why is that?
Yes, I am fearfiul of what erksel is trying to do to this country.
Do you think the founders would support his agenda?
Posted by: oda231 | July 16, 2009 at 06:57 PM
The iron clad principled logic of Pat Buchanan's opposition to Affirmative Action left Maddow completely flummoxed. She had no comeback. Her only response was, "Pat, I disagree."
Posted by: mrogi | July 16, 2009 at 07:06 PM
Yes I do think some like Jefferson would. Adams, not so much. By the way, I lived in Windsor for 2 years in the 80’s. Also spent time around Owen Sound in a little town called Tobermory.

Clearly the Founders would say that we let the big healthcare corporations get way out of control when they were allowed in the 70s to dodge regulation in order to clear profits of astronimical proportions, and subsequently price millions and millions of citizens out of the healthcare "market". In a word, YES, they would agree with Obama's agenda, as do 72% of Americans that want universal healthcare.
mr ogi, too bad you didn't watch it to the end. Flummoxed wasn't the word, but ya have to admit that it's frustrating dealing with a racist as stupid as Pat Buchanan.
Posted by: Drew | July 16, 2009 at 07:14 PM
Ogi;
I think she was astounded he would be pushed to the point of espousing the craziness he posts at his site. The real test of our presumptions will be if he does it again. My guess is he won’t. I wonder if Matthews will allow him the walk back some of that tomorrow.
Posted by: M.Steele | July 16, 2009 at 07:18 PM
The sound clip was pretty damn amusing.
Doesn't seem like context is considered much in this specific instance - shrug. More so though, when discussing Jefferson and Adams.
Carry on lefties.

Odie;
Funny you bring up the Blue dogs, I have stated here before that Obama has a strategy to deal with the health care issue. First marginalize the right, and then cleave the blue dogs from the Republicans. Well, he has already pushed the right to the corner and Rush, Sessions and Buchanan are a great help. The blue dogs know their districts sit at the poverty levels this bill is intended to help. So they will fold, they feel the need to be included.
