MSNBC's blithering, blonde bottle-blonde Chris Matthews told staffers Wednesday he would not run for the Senate in 2010 from Pennsylvania.
The thought of the diffuse, self-mentioning, hard-blowing Matthews being the subject of political stories instead of the butt of media stories was disturbing.
Frankly, now that Rachel Maddow has her own MSNBC show, and David Gregory took Meet The Press, we don't really care what he does with his evenings.
Matthews has the gravitas of a Dorito; and unfortunately, the self-regulating mechanism on his mouth went haywire sometime in the 1990's. He spits on himself.
There has been speculation that Mr. Matthews, 63, was flirting with a Senate run as a way to give him some leverage in his contract talks. According to at least one earlier report, NBC was planning to ask Mr. Matthews to return but wanted him to take a drastic pay cut — from $5 million a year to an amount closer to $1 million.
Since that report, “Hardball” has bounced back in the ratings, especially during the presidential election season, and NBC News executives have expressed much more interest in retaining Mr. Matthews.

spot on B'lam
probably the most damning story on Chris Matthews.

I was 'almost' a fan of his until his ill treatment of Mrs Clinton. That did it for me and I've never watched him since nor do I have an desire to tune him in any time in the future. Fade away, Chris.

Chris, though not as liberal as I would like (I prefer Olbermann), is all right with me. Anybody who takes Hillary Clinton to task can't be all bad.
It's just a shame that, instead of getting the Secretary of State position, Hillary wasn't permanently resigned to baking cookies...while dodging sniper fire.

Matthews served Carter and Tip O'Neul. The animosity between Carter and Clinton is famous. Matthews is still one of Carter's Men. It's a Democratic bias, but not the main one.

I remain stunned (a true knock-out) by the resemblance between Matthews and Bla'M, though when Bla'M spits, it's never on himself.

I miss you, Fremont. I wish you would post more often..

A real thrill down the leg-Pravada of Seattle, The PI may be going out of business very shortly.
If they would report instead of slant they may have made it even in the Peoples Republic of Seattle.
Gray Lady next!
Pity-not.

Ah man if that's true my mother will be devastated...she's the PI's biggest fan, no other paper compares. This is some kind of sad (if true) and will be a great loss to this area. I also heard that W.W.U. is doing away with it's football program, one that's been there since the early 1900's...WHAT is going on folks, this is tragic to say the least, M/Soft on verge of laying off thousands, our State apparently in a $6-Bil+ deficit state and unemployment on a rampage (look for numbers tomorrow).
More cuts in store on a State level and that will only have a ripple effect elsewhere. OH MY Toto...where are we?...surely Kansas can't be this bad off...or can it. And, Alas...a heavy quake in San Jose, Costa Rica...Lo Siento Much....INDEED.

Hiring freeze for the State has been lifted. Bidness as usual.
Check out Channel 5 for PI going tits up.
It is a good start.

Duff, calm down. Don't make me get Chucks to slap you upside your head...

The folks at the PI did not get the message years ago. The folks that want a left leaning propaganda rag read The Stranger.
When they abandoned 45% of the customer base (the right), they sealed their fate.
Hats off to them. They lasted twenty years longer than they deserved.
Next.

I didn't care for Matthews much during the last couple of years. He's been an opportunist and come off sounding pretty dumb and unfocused.
But lately he's been more focused and less silly. He's back to holding people accountable. He's been asking fewer gotcha questions and more relevant ones. He keeps asking until he gets an answer.
That's the kind of journalism I enjoy.

'Duff, calm down. Don't make me get Chucks to slap you upside your head...

Sorry Putz, got into a bit of a funk there but chucks rap upside the head made me realize that Washington is really the most business-friendly place to be. Haha...THAT's a laugh!

Here is a thrill down your leg!
This is copied directly off of ZERO's web site
Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.
Now you have direct evidence of why America is arming itself and stockpiling ammunition.
