Bail-out politics stymie right-wing talkers

It's a lousy talk show topic, this economic 9-11.

That's because it's all complicated 'n' stuff, and few talk hosts even have the vocabulary to explain it, let alone demagogue it.

The crisis is too big and political in a hyper-political season for talk radio to ignore it and go back to talking about Rev. Wright or how mean the press is for pulling pop quizzes on Sarah Palin.

Air America dot com gets new direction; sam seder & marc maron get a teevee show

Press releases barely out last week announcing the hiring of Beau Friedlander as website Editor-in-Chief, and already new content, expansion and improvements are showing.

"The goal," Friedlander told BlatherWatch, "is to be a place for people to go when news is happening if they want a progressive spin on it."

It's to be a real-time, live stream of progressively-bent news, video, and opinion.

There's not much video up yet on the site, but Sam Seder and Marc Maron's new video show, Maron v. Seder will start up Oct. 1. Here's their interim site with some toothsome videos.

"The on-line part will be talking to the radio part, and the radio part will be talking to a video part all three parts will be creating dynamic content," Friedlander said.

It was a big defeat for the fishes, the fishers, the cooks, and the eaters of salmon. (which is what God eats on Sundays).

O'Reilly screams at right-wing talk radio

Billo Reilly, stinging from the financial sodomizing he got from owning 3000 shares of Merrill Lynch, went after fellow radio talkers Thursday in a rant that's echoing throughout conservative media.

“It gets me angry,” he said. “I do talk radio and most talk radio is conservative-dominated ideologues; Kool-Aid drinking idiots.  Idiots. Screaming at you that this is socialism, this is this, this is that. ‘It’s Clinton’s fault.’ It’s Clinton’s fault? He hasn’t been in office in 8 years. It’s Bush’s fault! It happened under Bush’s watch.”

'Slacker uprising' to local cable channel

Michael Moore's new film, Slacker Uprising  will premier on community cable teevee Sunday,  September 28, 2008 at 6 p. (SCAN-TV, Comcast Channel 77/Broadstripe 23)

It's an entertaining tour of colleges in battleground states during the 2004 election, with a goal to encourage 18-29 year olds to vote, and the response it received. The film is a re-edited version of Captain Mike Across America, an offering that didn't geenerate much heat when it was released at The Toronto International Film Festival in 2007.

But it you love Michael Moore, as you should if you have a sense of humor, and are a great American, you'll love Slacker.

Watch it in the comfort of your PC: It's one of the first major motion pictures to be released as a free and legal download online.

It features performances by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Roseanne Barr, Tom Morello (of Rage Against The Machine), Viggo Mortensen and more.

Despite the feeble threats of lawsuits from the McCain campaign, the main media is picking up The National Enquirer's exclusive about Sarah Palin's alleged adultery.

Now it would seem the NE's got the goods... and polygraphs. This is about to erupt "big-time" as Sarah might say.

KVI will carry the debate live with programming in and around it for listener comments. KOMO will carry it on the stream due to the Mariners game.

KUOW is carrying all the debates from 6 to 8 p. with analysis for the last half-hour.From 8-9 p.m. there'll b a national call-in from NPR. (On Oct. 15th, BTW, KUOW will run a WA gubernatorial debate in conjunction with N3, KING TV and The Seattle Times (from (8-9 p).

The two are not mutually exclusive of course, and Obama is a native-born American, but nonetheless, the Big Fat Liar said: "Do you know he has not one shred of African-American blood?" .[..] "He's Arab. You know, he's from Africa. He's from Arab parts of Africa. ... [H]e's not African-American. The last thing that he is is African-American."

This, of course, is an outright lie from the party who doesn''t, they say, play the race card.

They doesn't have to: they've got the Rushbo.

It's hard to imagine which a racist might deem more hate-worthy, a black African or an A-rab, Rush's blarting over the radio to 13.5 million listeners, gives them both options to choose from.
