Think Progress: In the ongoing fallout from his screed against children with autism,
right-wing radio host Michael Savage(KTTH m-f, 6-9p) has been kicked off Los Angeles’
KGIL and will be replaced by conservative talker Lars Larson, according
to a Larson press release. LA is the second largest radio market in the
country. Already, radio stations in Ohio, Mississippi, and Virginia have dropped Savage, and a host of advertisers have done the same.

More Savage quotables: lest we forget:
- "Notice what this double-talking slut just did, this mind-slut Barbara Walters. And I stick by those words. She's an empty mind-slut." -- Michael Savage [3/16/07]
- Madeline Albright is "a traitor. In my opinion, she should be tried for treason, and when she's found guilty, she should be hung." -- Michael Savage [10/9/06]
- The U.S. Senate is "more vicious and more histrionic than ever, specifically because women have been injected into" it. -- Michael Savage [9/12/06]
- To "save the United States," lawmakers should institute an "outright ban on Muslim immigration" and on "the construction of mosques." -- Michael Savage [11/27/06]

According to the station his is not being "kicked off" but shifted to 10 PM. I like Savage.

Temporarily, Lars is probably a lot cheaper. He tends to be on a lot of smaller stations who can't afford the inflated salaries of right wing talk.

If they are replacing him with Lars, they obviously know who their audience is. The message will be the same, just the delivery will change.
Obviously GG went to a lot of trouble to explain something that 99% of The Weiner's audience would never understand. Station management heard him say autism was fake, period.

I had never heard of KGIL, despite having traveled through LA several times this summer. I guess it was always in commercials when I was scanning the dial.
It turns out this station does not have a typical format. It runs an hour of Ed Schultz, for example, after Glenn Beck in the morning, and features long-time LA talk personality Michael Jackson.
This is not a typical right-wing station, for whatever that is worth.

Michael Savage is still on the air in Los Angeles. He also broadcasts in New York and enjoys the 3rd highest rated talk show in the nation with 8.5 million listeners. The career of Savage is booming. He will be around for a long long time.

Rumors of Michael Savage's demise are greatly exaggerated. Apparently Orcas has the latest scoop - agreed he'll be around for a long time and ready to fight the Fairness (unfarness) Doctrine if it happens to rear its ugly mo-fo head.

Try (unfairness) Doctrine.

As Malloy would say, "more notes from Bob."

Michael Savage is an American Patriot. He's exposing the socialist evils that have eroded our liberty & our Constitution. With Gods help and Michael Savage, the Republic can be saved.
