Governor Christine Gregoire will talk to David Goldstein Wednesday. (Goldy's filling in for Dave Ross (KIRO m-f, 9a-12p) this week).
She'll appear at 9a, calling in from Washington DC. He'll take callers.
Goldy says they'll talk about the budget and her race against Dino Rossi. She's opened up quite a lead, lately. From Strange Bedfellows, the Seattle P-I blog:
In a survey last October, Gregoire led by 46.8 percent to 42.7 percent, with 7.3 percent undecided. [In a poll done over the period Feb. 7-18] The governor's lead has grown to 53.7 percent to 42.1 percent, with 3.5 percent undecided.
Gregoire is in Washington DC this week where she was the spokesperson for the Democratic Governors in response to their meeting with Bush; met with Speaker Pelosi and the Washington Delegation; and testified in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

Wow - just listened ... I felt like David was the "host" of one of those Green Tea infomercials and Queen Christine was Dr. Suleman (Magna Cum Laude, Guadalajara University). Larry King himself couldn't have done that interview any better --- was David broadcasting from KIRO or here - http://www.asasoftball.com/hall_of_fame/index.asp

Good one GG...HAha, guess he has to tread 'gingerly', doesn't have the years racked up that Dave Ross has so he needs to keep those bridges from burning, knowing full well that our lovely and gracious Governor will indeed remain our Governor next time around. I think overall Goldy is doin a good job, tho. :)

It's funny how words sometimes set one off ... when you said gingerly just now I got the most incredible craving in my life for gingerbread men (and, no, I'm not talking about the boi's at Neighbours). I'm going to be sending Oculus Bleu to Madison Market right now to pick some up.

Man I still can't believe the people of this state and how they BLINDLY elect ANYONE with a "D" after their name.
WAKE UP PEOPLE, look around you. The Dems have screwed up and squandered everything that was ever good about Washington. If where we are heading now is what you all want then welcome to it, highest taxes, tolls on all roadways, terrible public schools, sinking bridges, broken ferries and a viaduct that will kill thousands during the next earthquake. Good job Christine! We Love Ya!

Brian
They are not happy with just screwing up the state. They have delusions of bringing down the entire nation.

You could always move somewhere else if you don't like it here, the phone book is full of moving companies.

Goldstein again demonstrated why an annoying girlyman and a boring woman are usurping the 7-10 p.m. slot which would have been his logical inheritance at KIRO, after understudying for the role on weekends for years. Today he was talking about the huge prison population in the USA and a guy called in to remind Dave that 25 to 30 % of the prison populations are illegals, thus skewing the figures for actual Americans. illegals are not Americans. Goldy, not being big enough to acknowledge a huge point when it is made, reverted to his arrogant smartass mode, and condescended to and poohpoohed the caller. He basically dismissed the man's point and just started repeating "it's about trends. it's about trends' as the caller tried to get a word in underneath him. He reminded me of a little kid clamping his hands over his ears and repeating some silly kid's mantra as another tyke is trying to say something to him he doesn't want to hear. My saturation point with Goldy's arrogant smartass persona has rapidly reached it's limit over the past few days of his fillins for Ross, and now i see his liabilities outweighing any good points and arguments that he bring from time to time. In plain speak, I'm so over Goldy, and eager to see him rejoin the ranks of the legions of abrasive smartasses say in Philly or New York City. Luke and Jen are "drinking your milkshake", Dave.

Hopefully, we will see a "fair", honest, non-fraudulent and non-corrupt election for governor this time. In my opinion, Gregoire is still the illegal governor. Looking back, "if" she had any integrity she should have declined the office and asked for a new election due to voting problems, and I am being kind here, in Seattle, so that the citizens of Washington will know for sure who the legitimate governor is. Maybe she would get a little respect. As it is, Gregoire is NOT respected, fueling distrust and hatred for the government. Thank you Christine and democratic House and Senate for the high gas tax and evermore and enhancing the traffic mess.
