President George W. Bush, starring in a $10,000 a head trough for embattled 8th district congressman Dave Reichert's campaign will fly into SeaTac, the first sitting president ever to do so. (they usually come to the much closer Boeing Field).
KIRO's Jane Shannon is reporting that parts of I-5 and 405 will be totally shut down between 3:30 & 4:30p) as the President and Dave go to dinner. Traffic will be cleared and rush-hour commuters will have to wait until he passes.
Adding to the mix, will be angry protesters in downtown Bellevue and along the route.
As you're sitting in the afternoon heat, peeing in your water bottle, waiting for the limos to pass by: REMEMBER DAVE REICHERT! ... and send a few bucks to Darcy Burner!
(Darcy's having a low traffic impact virtual and real time town hall meeting on Iraq this afternoon with real consituents (not GOP fatcats) at 3p at the Bellevue Westin. Attend at your keyboard, by going here. If you're of a mind to protest in Bellevue, click here).

I recall many a cash run visit by Al Gore and Bill Clinton. I hated those to as they really screw up traffic. I like the concept of a virtual cash run...I mean Speaking Engagement.
If you ever go to DC and get the chance to watch the motorcades in and around the Whitehouse you'll be amazed.

What is Ms Burner's exact plan for getting us out of Iraq? [Does ANYone have an exact plan]
Posted by: Duffman | August 27, 2007 at 12:17 PM
Wonder if Bush will bring Gonzo. There doesn't seem to be much left of this administration. All the biggies are gone, now. What's Bush doing flying all the way out here to help little ol' Dave? Are they that desperate for the 2008, that this twit who has tried to put so much distance between him and Bush merits this grand treatment? A better question is WHAT THE HELL IS REICHERT THINKING ASKING THIS LOSER OUT HERE TO TIE UP RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND PISSING EVERYONE OFF?

Duffman: I'm going to listen to the town hall at 3. Burner has a bunch of military and foreign policy wonks on the panel. We'll see if she can keep up, and has anything to offer. I'm a Republiclan but frankly, I haven't heard much that makes sense out of Dave about Iraq. So far he has gone with the President chapter and verse.

Indeed,
plus we have an economy that is tanking and a failed invasion. Why would anyone want to vote for
Third Reichert stuck in Seattle traffic?
Posted by: coiler | August 27, 2007 at 12:25 PM
Thanks darren; I'll do the same.

I had to go visit an elderly relative in Redmond last month..first time I have been forced to drive in all that mess for years. Why you all choose to live that kind of lifestyle is beyond me. I will take my deer and eagles and open spaces and fresh air over sitting in traffic breathing fumes any day. Enjoy the mess!

Hear ya sparks; when I sit in these virtual 'parking lots' (called freeways) I wonder the same thing....WHY? Just to 'make-a-living' I guess. Asi es la vida.
Posted by: Duffman | August 27, 2007 at 01:23 PM
Scraping at the bottom of the barrel today, are we?
Who here thinks things would be otherwise if a Dem Prez came to town? This is just the way it is. The freeway will be shut down, angry mobs will protest, and oh, by the way... they also shut down most air traffic within a 30m range of Bellevue this afternoon.
IF a Dem were to win, would the great omnipotent Bla'm pull this piece of tripe out of the can and insert that person's name when/if he (she?) were to come to town? Somehow, I've got my doubts.

I don't think Bla'M has ever disguised his political slant so why not take advantage of adverse effect on traffic from an adverse President (& entourage..); hey at least Gonzo didn't quite make it.
I'm sure we'll (as locale) will be doing the same thing when Mrs Clinton is POTUS and our troops STILL haven't totally left Iraq.
I hope Mrs Burner has a total plan; I'll be tuned in?
Posted by: Duffman | August 27, 2007 at 03:00 PM
Fordman: Duff's right, I'm a well-known lefty, but no one's ever before called me omnipotent - thanks, but I'd rather be omniscient...

Angry mobs should protest, this isn't China, ya know?
Posted by: coiler | August 27, 2007 at 03:15 PM
..must have confused you with the Pope there Bla'M ;o)
Posted by: Duffman | August 27, 2007 at 03:23 PM
Those peeing in the water bottles could be out protesting, but they are probably not part of that 70 percent as they were not there in Bellevue. Instead they tossed a coin and said which is worst, sitting in my car waiting for my President to make his rounds of this country or looking like a fool protesting my President for protecting me from Terrorist that want to see us dead. Hmmmm, which one do you think they picked?

Is it okay that democrats have even more fatcat donors? (33 who gave $1,000,000 or more to democrat party in a presidential cycle versus only 3 republicans who gave $1,000,000 to their own party cause.) I hope you're not angry about THAT. Kinda blows the whole "party of the poor" thing, doesn't it?
Posted by: Ewok | August 27, 2007 at 08:34 PM
Now where do you get those figures?? Only 3 republicans who gave 1mil?
Bushie's Base????The Home on the Rangers???

What is wrong with the Democratic members in this "out of control" Democratic controlled Congress that Darcy says they need to "elect smarter Democrats." Is she saying these current Dems are dumb?
Posted by: nevets | August 27, 2007 at 10:57 PM
Darcy lost.
Let's get somebody new.
