anyone else having trouble with the stream? I have cable and it keeps hiccupping and freezing

fine....it quit, was offline for a minute and when it came back on, the stage was empty...lol..nice try KPTK

Did not work for me either.

yes Comcast here. I got it to work, but it would last about 10 seconds and then buffer again. I followed the suggestions for extending the bandwith time, but it didnt make any difference...

hEY Bla'm...it looked like people were cooking inside Town Hall..

I have EARTHLINK AND IT WENT DOWN AGAIN! My earthlink GOES DOWN about ONCE A DAY. When I was on jury duty, I was accompanied by five tech guys. We spent a whole day talking internet service. One thing I learned from them is that Earthlink uses equipment from other companies(instead of its own) and my modem is over three years old and needs to be replaced.

They said modems should be replaced yearly or so but if you don't complain a lot, the service provider will never replace it. So, when I called the Philappines (where my calls end up for tech service), I asked the tech guy and he said yes, a new modem would probably help. I said a new modem might be too little too late! But, I think I'll have them send it anyway just to get some revenge and then switch.

So, I didn't get to hear it either. However, it will be televised on the Seattle Channel because Town Halls always are. I'll let you know. You may not get Seattle Channel on TV, Sparky, but you can always hear them on demand on line once they are made available.

Yes, earthlink uses contracted phone # like from 3 Com and others ( I called Qwest and they tracked it down) and occasionally they are turned off and voila! You then have to use a new #. Usually though it just dumps you until you re-connect. I think they are barely hanging on as it is in a broadband world.

They are an Inline-6 in a Hemi world.

Be careful Joanie..Comcast always tells you you need a new modem and my brother, the techie, says absolutely not. They told me that too, and it turned out that Comcast had damaged my line when putting in a new connection to a neighbor.

It took them about 4 hours to figure out the problem, but I had some inside info on the problem they didnt screw around with the "new modem " excuse anymore, and finally they found it and were able to fix it.

Thanks, Coiler. I do have to reconnect to their server at least once a day. Stuff like last night probably two or three times a year. Just gets old.

Regarding the box, Sparky. It was the five juror techies that told me that . . . not Earthlink. When I mentioned that to my Earthlink techie, he said "that is correct" and told me to ask customer service for a credit for lack of service and for a new box. Then he lost my connection while transferring me.

I called back, went through the automated interrogation, reexplained my problem and the need to go to customer service, and customer service had just closed.

Hmm, I wonder if customer service is open on Sunday?

Sorry if I said Earthlink..it was Comcast that told me I needed a new modem. Of course it is possible you need a new modem, but it seems to be the answer of choice if they ( all of them) dont know what is wrong. That is what is hard about diagnosing over the phone!

No, I think you said Comcast. I was only commenting that it was my co-jurors (not techies for internet companies but people in the business "connection" world and one in sales) who said that boxes get better . . . If I ever get a new box from Earthlink, I'll let you know if there's a difference.

Yes, even a 383 would be faster than the 225ci slant earthlink.

Hahah...Big Eddie is whining right now--apparently he is getting grief for making disparaging comments last Saturday night about Muslims,( apparently he was unaware that Cenk from Young Turks is Muslim ) and he is insisting that people go to the KPTK website and listen to the webcast of the saturday night show to hear for themselves that he is NOT a bigot.

Jeez, Ed, just apologize for saying something out of line, even if you dont remember saying it, and move on. People will respect you more for that than for trying to defend yourself. ugh.
