Impeachment would be a big mistake in wartime. The Democrats would be committing political suicide, giving a real issue to the Repubs.

mark

wartime? really? is there a draft? rationing? any sacrifice whatsoever on our part?

wartime my ass.

Andrew

Bush was willing to fire Rumsfeld for getting things wrong in a time of war. It's seems to me he should have fired himself also. If he's unwilling to take an exit then we should help him find the exit.

sparky

The Guardian newspaper is reporting that Cheney has won the war of words over Bush on whether or not to bomb Iran...Condi's advice to talk things out has been tossed aside. This goes beyond whether or not Bush is stupid. Whether or not to impeach is no longer a partisan issue, regardless of what the media wants us to believe. This is about saving our Constitution and maybe our lives.

chucks

Impeach is a purely partisan issue sparks. As long as Iran is supplying weapons, training and technology to be used against our soldiers, war is on the table. With Aramadamanutjob puffing up and threatening the US and our allies, it is good to have adults in charge to deal with it.
OK, I now have my helmet on and am ready for the left wing hate fest to begin.

sparky

I dont hate you for your opinion, chuck. I just dont understand why the right was so intent on impeaching Clinton for lying to the grand jury about something that had no effect on the safety of the country and yet gives the Bush/Cheney Administration a free pass despite all of the lies they have told, lies that have cost lives and put our country and us in danger; despite all of the impeachable offenses that more than a few Republicans admit have occurred. I dont understand the idea of party over country.

Rick

Hey Chuck, the only folks talking about Iran in Iraq are the same folks who said that Iraq was loaded with WMD. Are you falling for the bs again? Forty five percent of the foreign fighters and suicide bombers in Iraq are Saudis! Our "allies" in this mess.
And in your opinion if a person does not agree with the administrations Iraq policy then that person is a lefty?

Andrew

Ha ha, stupid leftists. The Iranians want to destroy America. They captured those Brittish sailors and beheaded them to provoke us into a conflict! If Iran wanted peace they would have let them go! Moron leftists.

sparky

Remember all the way back to when Condi and Bush were going on about how Dr. David A. Kay was going to track down all those WMD's in Iraq, if we just waited long enough?

Remember how Bush and Condi turned against Kay, when he finally announced there were NO WMD's? For telling the truth, Kay became a non-person in US officialdom, as a reward for his ultimate honesty and integrity.

Now we're supposed to wait for Petraeus to make statements in September. Apparently nothing he says until then will be definitive. If Petraeus tells the truth as well, who will Bush drag out for us to wait for next?

Most of us ran out of reasons to believe GWB a long time ago.

joanie

And according to Jack Reed today, the administration isn't representing Petraeus correctly even now. He's not saying the surge is working . . .

When, chucks, will you start to listen to the experts. Do you think people who study the middle east and generals who have been their know absolutely nothing?

chucks

Not ignoring your post above, just very busy for some odd reason.

ps: you are not ever considered a hater by me.

In the almost 200 years of the Republic up until the time of Nixon, impeachment was used once. Now we are seriously talking about using it for the 3rd time in the last 30 some years. I think we are crazy to go down that road. Lord knows, Bush has done so much that is despicable and possibly impeachable. However, if I were a Repub, I would spin impeachment as being a payback for Clinton's impeachment. At that time I though that Clinton's impeachment was payback for Nixon. If we go down this road, we will never have decent people running for President. GW deserves to burn in Hell for his actions. And he has only 18 more months in office as of this Friday. I say we ride it out.

Tommy008

Hey ! That stench you're smelling from Eastlake Avenue isn't a garbage strike- it's the return of Dori Monson! he's baaaaack, and all fired up today about a mentally ill womanwho is sueing the state because no one believedher when she told guards she was pregnant and she forced to give birth in jail. Of course our Little man D doesn't want to be "footin' the bill" out of his taxpayer money for such foolishness as paying off lawsuits for any old "nutjob" who "sees a big payday". That's right folks- he used the term "nutjob" to the lawyer for the women. Several of his little band of mental and emotional pygmies who comprise his "dittoheads" called in to agree, but I was heartened to hear several supporters of the women, who were rightly dsgusted bt Monson. Finally, the hot rumor around town is that Monson has agreed to play Scrooge in the annual ACT Theatre production of A Christmas Carol.

coiler

Did Dori take his family to Vegas again?

joanie

. And he has only 18 more months in office as of this Friday. I say we ride it out.

Eitghteen months in the hands of that man could prove catastrophic! Ever heard the word Iran? He should be tried as a criminal.

And Nixon deserved impeachment. Clinton did not.

joanie

Oh, and tell "ride it out" to all the kids and Iraqis who are going to die in the next eighteen months.

sparky

I know what you are saying Ed, but if Iran wasn't on the table I would feel better about sending him off to Paraguay in 18 mos. But like I said above, this isnt partisan anymore...this is about our safety.

sparky

I wonder if Dori goes to that karaoke place in Vegas that streams your performance online so your fans can see you make a fool of yourself.

coiler

We know the mayor of a S King Co. city does...

sparky

yaes

Mark

And President Bush's "high crimes and misdemeanors" are what exactly?
